For not being a standard vacuum, I am really pleasantly surprised at all the cat hair and stopped at this robot vacuum pulls up. Definitely cannot take the place of a standard vacuum, but I basically run this every other day in the house and the carpets are looking great. You have to have any kind of clutter cleaned up around the house including cords and wrappers and dryer sheets or else this will suck it up and sometimes get stuck. I actually had a 3D print some bumper extenders because it kept getting stuck under my couch. Hopefully you have a 3D printer but probably not. That might be the only drawback that I know of is that it gets stuck under load things such as couches. Also, I wish there was a way to keep it from bumping into my bedroom door at night. I basically run this at 2:00 AM and sometimes the bump wakes up my wife. And it is not a smart vacuum in the sense that it's it knows exactly where it's going, so it relies on bumping into things to navigate. Which means it's bumping into my bedroom door several times over the cleaning cycle. Would be nice if they put a rubberized pad on the bumper so that it wasn't such a bang noise.

We bought this primarily because our dogs shed a lot. We run the vacuum 5 days a week. It cleans well, requires a minimal amount of help when dryer sheets or other things get stuck. When we don't run it for a few days, it's noticeable.

The media could not be loaded. We have one refurbished iRobot (that does not self empty) that came from a different seller whose name begins with a W& ends in a T. It is fabulous. This review is NOT for that vacuum or their company. This self emptying one, however, arrived malfunctioning out of the box with a clicking noise from iRobot It then spun around wildly, BANGED into the furniture and walls, did not clean well, died in the floor, said it was stuck when it wasn’t, and needed to be rebooted… EVERY TIME WE USED IT iRobot was NO help and immediately informed the Amazon agent that Amazon was responsible for refunding the $ for this item when Amazon and I called them on a conference call Amazon was additionally NO HELP, gave me conflicting instructions, and so far has not honored their A-Z guarantee (after over a week of begging iRobot for a prepaid return label with Amazon reps in writing, Amazon told me to not contact iRobot without them on the phone, to file an a-z claim, to throw the vacuum out, and that they would handle this difficult seller bc that is why they had this a-z policy, but is now (a week later) telling me to instead return an item they told me to dispose of). SO FAR this has been NOTHING besides a VERY expensive hassle I have spent hours on the phone with agents at Amazon who say how sorry they are, but cannot actually help I have uploaded videos and screenshots that came directly from the malfunctioning robot vacuum for evidence. When we used it, we followed all troubleshooting, cleaning, replacing parts, and rebooting steps daily to try (in vain) to get this broken piece of garbage to work CAVEAT EMPTOR when purchasing anything from a 3rd party seller on Amazon OR from iRobot Amazon will more likely than not back up their seller if it is a big name instead of their customer (even if their customer has been a prime member for longer than iRobot has even been a company) iRobot will not send you a prepaid label and will ask you to pay out of pocket to mail their broken garbage back to them

I got a refurbished version of the i4+. It's a great little vacuum. It runs more quietly than our Dyson V6 stick vacuum. It is able to make the transition from hardwood floors to rugs by lifting itself up slightly. It has a bit of trouble with thick rugs on hardwood floor, so it's better to pick those up, but it will usually end up going around. It's great at sensing obstacles, and can even navigate under the dining room table and chairs, though it does take a while. Not having to empty the dust compartment every time is amazing as well. In terms of suction, it isn't quite as powerful as the Dyson, but since we can have it run every day with no effort on our part, it doesn't really matter if it leaves a few dust particles here and there; they'll get picked up the next time. The app is also pretty good. It lets you select which rooms to clean (after you label the map it creates), and has a Send Home function, which is great if you want to end the cycle early. After a month of use, I would definitely buy it again. This item was refurbished. It came in good packaging, though not the original. There were no signs of wear or damage, and everything worked great out of the box. The manual was very short and simple, but I didn't need any more than that.

Caveat up front, I bought this refurbished from Amazon. Setup wasn't too difficult but was certainly far from error free. The trouble begins when you set this thing up to vacuum when you leave home. Literally every time I leave my front door, within ten minutes I either get a text message that the robot can't start, or that the dust bin is full. On returning home the thing is either stuck somewhere or sitting in its charger with anywhere from a tiny amount to a lot of dust in its hopper. The vacuum absolutely never just does its job and returns to home base with no complaint. I have a very small pet-free apartment and am generally a tidy person so it's not like this thing is hoovering up vast amounts of dirt every other day. My theory is that the sensors are just entirely too sensitive. Either that or the entire technology is just generally unreliable. Either way I end up fussing with the machine far more than if I just bring out the old fashioned vacuum cleaner once in a while. Not recommended. Do not buy.
