I was impressed with the simplicity and straightforwardness of unboxing the Roomba 104. As soon as I opened the box, I found a corrugated panel with step-by-step quick start information. It showed me how to snap the edge-sweeping brush on, how to position the base to charge it and included a QR code that took me directly to the App Store to download the Roomba Home app. I opened the app and it walked me through the connection and setup of the robot. It took about five minutes to connect. Once it connected to my Wi-Fi and I had named my robot, it offered to "Create a Map." I tapped the "create map" button and within 4 minutes it had mapped my living room! I moved it to the bedrooms level (split levels in my home) and repeated the map creation procedure. It mapped three bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a hallway within 7 minutes! Ten minutes later I had edited the map and named each room. Now I can schedule it to clean whichever room or combination of rooms I wish. And I can tell it how to clean (vac/vac and mop/ mop) each room. Whenever the dustbin gets full, it returns to the base and empties the bin and returns to where it left off. It picks up all sorts of dirt from the floor including my Black Mouth Cur's pet hair! What a relief! I've not had it long enough to make an assessment, but the dirt disposal bag is supposed to hold 75 days of dirt and debris before it has to be changed! The filter is easily accessible at the top of the dustbin. Pulling out the dustbin and filling the mopping reservoir is a cinch. The separate mopping arm provided snaps into position for mopping. The reservoir drips cleaning solution into the pad and mops the hard floors and can tell when there is a rug or a carpet, navigating around them seamlessly. The amount of cleaning solution you want to dispense can be adjusted from the app. After each mopping, I can just remove the microfiber pad and drop it in my washer. This guy is really a timesaver when it comes to maintaining my floors. I can schedule it 7 days a week to start "when I want it to" and be confident when I come home from work, my floors will be clean. ... show more

An exciting present for hubby for Father’s Day! He promises he will keep up with the floors and bathrooms, but he is always so tired after work and…here we are. I took pictures of the box because I was a little worried it would arrive damaged, but, it was safe and sound. The last model we had was the i7+. This new Roomba looks much more futuristic. I love how much bigger the filter is in the new models. The mopping pad is giant and it snaps on. I like the little touch on the charging base with the brush. The entire thing looks really slick and makes me proud to have a robot vacuum! The setup in the app to my WiFi was very simple and has a nice bedside manner. Mapping was REALLY fast. I was so surprised. It took about ten minutes. It did a good job picking up cat hair. I was a little wary of the brush, but so far it’s easy to clean. It does a great job mopping, especially since we’re not mopping. My only set back is having to figure out where I end up placing it in our house, because the mop pad can’t go across carpeting back to the home base and I didn’t realize that. It would be more ideal for a house with less carpeting and maybe just area rugs. We’re too excited to care. Great step up from iRobot! ... show more

I used to have a 600 series roomba. That was years ago. I liked it but it was missing features I really wanted. Bounced around when cleaning. No map. Had to block of areas. Now that's all changed! I just got my new 104 Combo + AutoEmpty Dock Roomba a few days ago and WOW!! It does so much more than I ever expected. And this is just an entry model. This was the model in my budget so I didn't expect much, just wanted it to do better than the 600. The 104: 1. MAPPED MY HOUSE in under 10 minutes. 2. Has a MOP attachment. 3. Avoids carpets and rugs when the mop is attached. 4. Allowed me to add CLEAN ZONES, for it to focus on more. 5. Add KEEP OUT ZONES!!! (No more blocking off areas) 6. Adjust the vacuum suction and mop liquid amounts by zone or area. 7. The mop can do something called "Smart Scrub" it mops back and forth to clean areas better. I noticed I can set this per room or zone too. 8. Goes back and dumps itself when its full. 9. No bouncing around. It cleans in rows. No more missing places! I paid WAY LESS for the 104 combo, then I did my 600 series long ago. And my 600 did none of that! I cannot believe I get so much more now for so much less. I've spent the last few days just going thru testing everything. Getting to know the app. My floors are super clean now because of this. Amazing how advanced this "entry" model is compared to my old entry level. Way easier to use than expected too. Especially for such a low price! Very happy with the Roomba 104 combo. It was easy to pair with the app and it mapped my phone really quick thanks to iRobot adding Lidar to the unit. We filled up the mop part with water and finally sent out Alfred (that's the name we gave him) to clean. It mopped and cleaned very well, while doing a great job of avoiding the area rugs we have around the house. We sent it out again with the mop pad removed so Alfred could vacuum the area rugs. It was actually fun to watch it move it's way around the dinning room table and under the couch. The suction power is strong and vacuumed everything off the floors and the mop pad made the floors look a lot better. I like that the mop pad is machine washable so I can just put it in with the regular laundry and the robot empties into a bag so I don't have to keep checking the dustbin to see if it's full (the app will tell me when to change the bag). This robot has lots of features I was surprised to discover while using the app and feels like I got more for my money for all the things it can do. ... show more
