I don’t normally write reviews but this one deserves it!! If you want to prevent kitty litter being tracked all over your house then click “Buy Now”!! I have been searching for a litter box and design that would decrease the amount of litter constantly tracked through my apartment. My kitty likes to play in the litter box and I already bought the Grate kitty litter mat, to no avail. I was concerned about my kitty taking to this design and box. My kitty took to this litter box without skipping a beat and have had no problems in that area whatsoever. It’s a very attractive design for your place! One thing not mentioned was how you’re able to get to scooping out the box. The white part comes off very easily to scoop out the litter clumps and drop the trapped litter back in, while the lid stays secure while in use. It’s very sturdy in its construction with a beautiful design. The inside is very smooth. I don’t use the scoop though b/c I have a litter genie I use. It’s definitely worth its value for the money and I’d pay twice as much for this litter box actually. I highly recommend not questioning if this is the right box b/c I highly recommend this box and am beyond pleased with this purchase!! ... show more

Really love the high sides and cover with this litter box! It’s great for up to 2-3 medium to small sized cats. If your cats are larger, this would accommodate 2. The lid fits tight which is nice and keeps litter off the floor and removes easily for cleanups . I’d recommend two, I like to have one cleaned with fresh litter ready so when it’s time to clean one, I can just move in the already prepared clean box then repeat ... show more

It's been cat tested .. and then tested ... and then ... oh my gawd what did you EAT? Tested. It works. My cats are all tall to mid-lard sized little heifers. I was having issues with 2 of them - Sammi the Weasel likes to stick her butt out the front of the box and pee all over the floor. Yoda Boda likes to dig a hole to China then scratch the walls down to fill said hole in (this goes on FOREVER) all while making sure everything in 20 foot radius is equally covered in litter for good measure, then he plunks his butt down right in the center to pee before bolting out like lightning just smacked him which serves his nefarious purpose of making litter trails across the entire house as he completely avoids touching down on the litter mats. Pepper Spray can contain herself and her bizniz to a box but she dislikes the openness of regular ones ... however she's a wee bit umm, FAT, for a regular hooded box. I checked out the expensive pet stores (you know the ones!) and they did not have anything that would meet all 3 of my precious sugar woogums cow sized elimination habits. Then I ordered Iris CLH-12 Open-Top Litter Box with Shield and Scoop, installed it between my shower & human litter box and voila! Problems mostly solved. Sammi the Weasel can no longer shove her butt out the front edge, Pepper Spray doesn't look like an awkward fat-ass stuffed in a tiny box, and Yoda Boda isn't flinging excavation treasures like a Tasmanian devil all over the entire room. The box lid is a little awkward because of the weird small area of where it barely clips onto the box. If you got sprayers or super high pee-ers, this will be a problem. It might accommodate bags easier than a regular hooded box, however I don't know that for sure, I haven't tried it with a bag yet since my demon-boy just shreds them into "sifter" bags anyway. He hasn't been able to ninja-kick it off yet, so yay! The included scoop is SMALL, but it has a cool handle hook that allows it to hook onto the lid of the box or open-hood. But hey, the scoop is a bonus and what cat poop-scooping person doesn't already have like 5 of those things anyway? The size is okay, its designed high not super lengthy or extra wide. It works, but it could be bigger which would make it more comfortable for my canine sized fur balls. Its only slightly wider than my regular litter box [very slightly]. If you are looking for a high sided wider one, check out one that looks like a baby bath tub (seriously it does), but you pretty much need fur balls with no litter box issues to brave a non-hood design [if you got one ... you could make a killing in breeding it!]. In short, if you need a hood with out the ceiling and don't have super high pee-ers/sprayers, this design will work. It's high enough to contain, but doesn't brush my butt and freak me out when I'm doing my bizniz either [its right beside my toilet, I'm not using the litter box I swear]. ... show more

I love this design. It is easy to clean and is very sturdy. The top entry/ exit, with the grooved top, eliminates litter being kicked on the floor. The price was great and worth every penny. I will buy again.

My cat loves this and so do I! She’s a messy girl who likes to dig to vigorously and her fur is very fine and long so the litter got stuck on her paws and tracked all over with a normal litter box, even when I got litter mats around the box it didn’t help; there was litter all over my house every day every few hours after I cleaned up. The design of this top entry box helps reduce how much litter she tracks and stops her from throwing any out when she digs. I picked this one because it was more aesthetically appealing than most other top entry boxes. It’s also a lot cheaper than most of the ones at the store; including some worth a lot less based on quality and size. I feel this is made of really sturdy and durable material. The media could not be loaded. We rescued a kitten and he learned to use the litter box immediately but kept flinging the litter Everywhere while he was digging!! So I was thinking of an enclosed litter box but was worried my older (very set in her ways) cat would not use it and we came across these. These litter boxes have helped tremendously. When my kitten is digging to middle earth the litter stays in the box and then my older cat seemed to have liked the privacy barrier without feeling claustrophobic. Definitely very happy I came across these and decided to give them a try. I also appreciate they came with their own scoop that attaches to the side of the litter box. The walls have not made it any harder to clean out and since I clean them as needed I haven’t noticed any difference with smells/unpleasant aromas but it does help with the over look as far as not having to stare at litter since it keeps it semi hidden. They were also very easy to put together the walls just snapped and locked right into place. They are also very easy to clean when needed everything just comes back apart. ... show more
