Frequently asked questions

Setting up the Intex 20 Foot Steel Frame Round Pool involves selecting a level area, laying down the ground cloth, assembling the frame according to the instruction manual, and installing the liner. It's critical to ensure that the frame is level and secure before filling the pool with water. You might need 2-3 people to assist you with the setup process.

While the pool can stay up year-round, it is recommended to disassemble and store it during the winter in areas with freezing temperatures to prevent damage. If you do leave it up, be sure to winterize it properly, following the steps provided in the owner's manual to protect it from the weather.

Regular maintenance for this pool includes checking the pH and chlorine levels, vacuuming the pool floor, skimming debris off the water surface, and replacing the filter cartridge as per the manufacturer’s guidelines, which is usually every two weeks during heavy usage.

The filling time for the Intex 20 Foot Pool depends on your water pressure and hose size. On average, it may take anywhere from 4 to 10 hours. The water capacity for this pool when filled to 90% is approximately 7,947 gallons (30,079 liters).

The Intex Frame Pool series offers a quick, durable, and enjoyable solution for summer fun. Should I Buy It?

If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive and durable pool that's easy to set up for summer fun, the Intex Frame Pool could be a great choice. It's suitable for lounging and relaxing, but consider investing in a more robust pump for maintenance. Just make sure to properly prepare the ground before installation to avoid punctures. If you're willing to manage the necessary pool chemicals and potentially upgrade the pump, this pool is definitely worth considering.

  • Simple Set Up, Priced right, Good Quality
Size: 10' x 30"
Okay, let's get a pool, end of Summer for 1 event. Sure. We chose this one & so glad we did because it was a good find. First thing, dont get rushed & not buy sand. Its essential for ANY size pool. Place tarp on top of sand. Okay, by my self I unpacked it, did sand & tarp. I could have dont set up by myself but recruited the hubby which made ease of set up so much quicker. Total project time 2 hours with sand leveling. 1 hour just pool. Its well made and no missing items. Directions are clear & simple. Bought 2 XL floats and it was perfect for floating and relaxing. Functions for us perfectly, no steps needed, small pump, small area to clean. We got the pool to chill with other adults. It would good for younger kids or teens to just cool down on hot days. This pool setup is not big enough for grown people to swim but the cooling effect is awesome during heat wave. We used pump included and ran it on 10 hour cycle daily. Water clarity was perfect with pump & floating chlorine tablets container. Overall, best to set up with 2 for smoother set up. Recommend for families with younger kids or adults who just like to float. Im definitely impressed with quality. ... show more

  • Easy setup! Good value for price!
Size: 10' x 30"
Great pool! so far. This item didn’t come with the ground cover as it alludes to. Was bought as a present for my nephews 11 birthday and he’s been thrilled. Would also be very nice for adults looking to just soak and relax. Assembly was fairly easy, and I setup most of frame by myself. Inserting the last elbow & vertical bar does require two people. The included pump works great! but you absolutely have to buy the extra filters. After the initial pump run, the included filter was extremely dirty! wasn’t even worth rinsing. So filter management will be the #1 thing to keep this pool up and running as long it can. I can def see how folks complain about the pump, the pump does not work efficiently when the filter is dirty (check filter first). But, the 10’ x 30” is a perfect size. A good purchase decision. ... show more

  • Great pool. Easy Maintence and the kids love it!
Size: 20' x 52"
This Intex 20ft x 52in Prism Frame pool is absolutely fantastic! Five stars all the way! It's transformed our backyard into a summer oasis. Here's why we love it: Huge Size: This pool is massive! Plenty of room for the whole family to swim and play, and even enough space for some serious laps. The 20ft diameter is perfect for our needs. Sturdy Construction: The Prism Frame is incredibly strong and durable. The metal frame is robust and the liner feels thick and well-made. We've had it up for a couple of seasons now, and it's held up beautifully. Easy Setup (for a pool this size): While it's a big pool, the setup was surprisingly manageable. It definitely takes a few people and some time, but the instructions were clear, and we were able to get it assembled without too much trouble. Complete Set: We opted for the set, and it came with everything we needed – the pump, ladder, ground cloth, and pool cover. It was great to have everything included and not have to purchase things separately. Great Value: For the size and quality, this Intex pool is an excellent value. It's provided countless hours of fun for our family and friends, and it's definitely worth the investment. Overall, we are thrilled with our Intex Prism Frame pool. It's a great size, well-made, and relatively easy to set up. It's brought so much joy to our backyard and is the perfect way to beat the summer heat. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Huge decline in quality! Especially the bottom. Now leaking right after setup.
Size: 10' x 30"
I’m shocked how much they decreased the quality! I’d rather pay $10-20 more for the same quality it was 2 years ago. 3rd pic is the one I bought May of 2023…you can see they changed the design. That one got destroyed last summer by a bad storm which is no fault of Intex. But this new quality is ridiculous and isn’t the prism supposed to be a bit better of a line than the regular blue ones? The bottom used to be the same exact material and thickness as the sides and it was very thick. Not only has the side material gotten noticeably thinner, the bottom is not the same. I felt how light the box felt and then how light the liner felt when I got it out. I thought there was something missing or that they packed the wrong liner because I remember how heavy and thick the last one was. You can see in the second pic how much the sun comes through the bottom. On the last one, no sun went through the sides or bottom. I was literally afraid to put this up and puncture it, it’s so thin. The bottom is now the same thinness as the cheap blowup pools from the dollar store for $20. What’s the point of having the nice poles when you go so cheap on the liner, your finger nail could rip it? So disappointing! I don’t see this being able to last past this year. Plus, I haven’t measured it but it also does not fit in the same indention as the last one. Several inches on all sides smaller. I don’t have the old anymore to measure but I’d guess it’s smaller too…even though they’re supposed to have both been 10ft. **edited after finishing the setup and filling with water today 6/1/25. Have to lower the rating again. Added 2 pics of leaking water. There is pooling water around it and I can’t find where it’s coming from. I’ve wiped away the water and these pictures were after that when the water pooled back into these spots. So it’s either leaking from the seams or somewhere on the very thin bottom. I’ve checked all the hose points and drain and they’re not leaking. I could live with the lower quality if it lasted the year but really?! Also, I have a tarp at the very bottom on the dirt then I have this very thick felt that’s used for huge above ground pools that I cut to fit. And then I just bought another brand new tarp to put on top of that. I opened and put it down the same time I set up the pool today. ... show more

  • Worth the money
Size: 15' x 42"
Overall a great pool once it’s set up, but the process definitely takes some patience. The instructions could be clearer and the setup was a bit tedious. The pump works fine for casual use, but it’s nothing special—just “mid” compared to other pumps I’ve had. That said, the pool itself is sturdy, spacious, and perfect for hot days. Once it’s up and running, it’s absolutely worth it! ... show more
