Frequently asked questions

The Bestway Steel Pro MAX pool set includes the above ground swimming pool itself, a filter pump for water circulation and cleanliness, a ladder for easy access, and a cover to protect the pool when not in use.

The Bestway Steel Pro MAX pool is designed for easy setup without the need for any additional tools. The frame pieces lock together seamlessly, making assembly straightforward for most people. It's advisable to have two people during setup to ensure ease and safety.

While the Bestway Steel Pro MAX is sturdy, its longevity through winter depends on your local climate. In regions with mild winters, it may be possible to leave it up by properly winterizing it. However, in areas with harsh winters, it’s recommended to disassemble and store the pool to prevent damage.

To maintain the Bestway Steel Pro MAX pool, regularly check and adjust the water chemistry, clean the filter according to the manufacturer's instructions, remove debris with a net, and use the cover to keep the pool clean. Periodic checks of the pool's frame and liner for signs of wear or damage are also recommended.

  • Absolutely Wonderful Recreational Accessory
Size: 15' x 48" - Gray
I have read several reviews and have no idea which planet a lot of the reviewers are living on. I bought my pool last summer, the first I have ever owned and maintained either above or in ground. As a complete rookie yearning for a cheap way of cooling off in a searing summer climate (central Georgia), I was skeptical about a $500 apparatus with a flimsy-looking pump. I assembled it quickly, filled it with a garden hose, put a $30 floating plastic module with chlorine capsules in it, and... VOILA! I have not put a drop of water in it since first filling, nor has the water been anything but crystal clear for the last 10 months. A cheap hand skimmer with an extendable paint handle is a must when the water gets too cold for immersion. But it suffices to remove pine straw, pollen, bugs and debris. Cleaning the pump filter by using the rubber plugs in the intake/outtake ports and spraying with a garden hose is an easy task. Hoses tend to spring leaks at their flexion points, but a coating of silicone quickly solves that issue. I have yet to install the cover for any reason. All in all a STEAL OF A DEAL for those in warm climates (I have used mine in 8 of the 12 months), but I'm not sure about how it would hold up (or be drained and disassembled) in areas of severe winters. ... show more

  • Awesome pool for the price but you MUST buy the Intex 2500 GPH pump
Size: 14' x 48"
Awesome pool for the price but you MUST buy the Intex 2500 GPH pump for $105 dollars. The pump that comes with this pool is garbage and does not work well at all. You must absolutely buy the intex 2500 GPH pump because it is a beast and works brilliantly with this best way pool. The pump is only $105 and then you buy the Intex adapter which is $5 for two of them and you absolutely need the adapter for it to work with this pool. But once you get it the setup will be fantastic. Pool liner is strong and it looks great it's tall. It's easy to put together but the pool cover has holes in it on top there's four holes and I hate that feature. By the plastic clamps at Lowe's for $14 to help put the pool cover on makes a huge difference on ease. If you do not plan on buying the Intex pool pump then don't even bother buying this pool because the pump that comes with it is garbage. ... show more

  • Not the same as last year
Size: 14' x 42"
This pool was amazing when we purchased it last year. ClickConnect system made the setup super easy. However, we repurchased the same pool (same seller) this year and had a different experience. The first order was lost in the mail, and the next one was not the ClickConnect system that was advertised. It came with pins and stoppers that took much longer to assemble. The pool itself seems fine, other than a few oddly-glued sections of the liner, but we were a little disappointed at the misadvertisement. ... show more

  • A regrettable purchase
Size: 15' x 42"
I thought this would be a cheap way to make our backyard in Phoenix more enjoyable. It was for about a month. Now that summer is fully upon us, it has proved to be a nightmare to maintain. If I cover it, the water gets too hot, like 110 deg F. Uncovered, the chlorine evaporates in a few days and algae starts growing. The cover wont stay on anyways. It takes 20 mins to install, and blows off as soon as a gust hits it. The filter in the pump can't handle algae. It gets clogged up in a few hours. Having to plug all the ports in the sidewall, so I can take the pump apart to clean it daily, is not fun. Since the returns are halfway up the sidewalls, it doesn't really get much algae out anyways. I tried dealing with it. I killed the algae, bought a vacuum to try to remove it, but I finally have decided I just have to drain it. That was made easy since the junk hoses that plumb the returns and inlet to the pump, have all cracked from UV exposure. So half the water drained out last night. Overall the thing is just not made very well. The liner is pretty thin, the frame isn't super sturdy, the pump sucks, the ladder is wobbly, the cover sucks, and the hoses can't handle any sun exposure. I would highly recommend looking at a different brand and a higher end option. Get something with a sand filter and better materials all around if you want it to last. All in I have easily spent over $1k between this pool, a liner, skimmer, brush, vacuum, chemicals, new hoses, etc..., and I think we went in it less than a dozen times. 0/10. ... show more

  • Love this pool!
Size: 14' x 48"
As others have said, the pump is not very strong. When it gave out, we ordered the next size up from Bestway and it has been well worth the money. The ladder that comes in the package might be great for dare devil kids but it was shaky for us seniors. With those upgrades this has been a wonderful pool. It has been in service for two years and we forecast at least one more season. I hope this same pool will be available when I need to replace it. Will buy again. ... show more

  • Easy set up. Bad filter
Size: 13' X 48" - Gray
Pool was easy set up. Hut ladder is too buoyant and floats up. And the filet system it comes with honestly isn’t enough for even half the size of the pool. You’d need to buy a separate filter they better suits the size
