  • Intex Pool
Size: 18 ft x 48 in Configuration: Pool
This will be my 3rd Summer with the same pool. I must same I am surprised it held up as I never took it down through the winter months as instructed. The pump isn't top tier, but it did get me through the first summer and kept the water clear as long as I stayed with keeping the filter clean. I'd get about two weeks out of each filter after spraying it with the hose if it got funky. I did upgrade to a sand pump the second summer, but it didn't survive the winter so this 3rd summer I hooked up the original pump bc I know it will do the job. It's fairly easy to set up but it's really a minimum of a two-person job. Making sure all the wrinkles were out was the hardest part. Make sure to put the tarp underneath before laying it out. The pump was pretty easy to set up as well and you can get a skimmer for this pool the helps keep stuff off the surface of the water. Next year I plan to upgrade to a bigger pool but I without a doubt recommend this one. ... show more

  • Excellent pool
Size: 18 ft x 48 in Configuration: Pool
I love this pool. Set it up late in the season (July) and used it many times during this summer to make my purchase completely worth it. I have heavy iron in my well water in my area and filled the pool with the hose. After adding the necessary and specific balance of pool chemicals for my water situation, and changing and washing the filters (I bought extra filters) the water was crystal clear and amazing after about 2 weeks of daily attention. At first I changed and washed the filters every other day and then 1x per week for the rest of the season. I put extra tarps around the pool, tacked the tarps down, kept them washed and put a netting pool cover for bugs and debris. The cover that comes with the pool is fine but difficult for me to manage on my own. I also bought a vacuum for the pool to get the extra iron sediment that settled to the bottom. I have had no problems with this pool at all and the filter works great because of my discipline of changing and washing the filter, and staying on a cleaning and pool chemical schedule. The pool is large enough (18') for me to float around on my raft with my cocktail and exercise daily. I'll pack this pool away in the fall and look forward to setting it up year after year. Will probably invest in a heater for next season to extend my season since I live in the north. This year for about $200 more dollars in accessories this pool turned out to be a gem. A very economical, fun way to have your own pool. ... show more

  • Great if your willing to put in the effort
Size: 18 ft x 48 in Configuration: Pool
This is my 4th purchase of this pool in the last 6 years. My first time through Amazon (usually through Academy). It is holding up well and I have 11 grand kids that give it a run for it's money all summer long. There are pros and cons on different pieces of this pool. The pool (body) itself is sturdy, easy to set up and the inflatable ring works to keep the pool balanced. It must be level to start with. I put a load of sand under mine and then spray weed killer on the sand and a foot around the circumference the day before I set up the pool (nut grass can grow up through the liner.) You must clean under the inflatable rim on a weekly basis, however, to keep algae and debris from gathering under it. Just hand the kids a regular kitchen sponge and have them go around and scrub under the rim a couple of times a week. Prevention is way easier than trying to get rid of yucky stuff later. You MUST learn how to take care of the water if you want anypool to stay swimable and quite honestly the pumps that come with this one are not so good, especially if you live somewhere hot like I do (Texas.) In my opinion and experience, the pump that comes with this pool does not turn the water over enough even if you run it longer than the suggested run time. I upgraded my pump to a Hayward AG pump 3 years ago and mine stays crystal clear. A good test kit can be your savior and test (available here on Amazon about $17) the water at least every two days. Do not let the pool stores talk you into tons of chemicals either. Get the conditioner on the opening up and then just make sure the chlorine and PH stay in a good level. A good help place is[...] These guys are very helpful and their advice is free. I own a catfish pool vacuum and it is great for getting junk that settles on the bottom. The pool does not come with a vacuum, skimmer or net. You will need these things if you want the pool to stay clean and last the entire, or more than one season. The ladders get a little weakened as well if you have heavier people in your family and if your grand kids don't mind and jump off of it constantly. All in all this pool is worth the money and is good quality. It is worth the $ to me. Don't think, however that you are just going to set it up and be done with it. It does require work and daily diligence to keep it sparkling. PS Intex's customer service SUCKS! ... show more

  • Great pool, easy set up, easy to maintain
Size: 18 ft x 48 in Configuration: Pool
Great pool. Instructional video was very helpful in showing proper set up. All parts were included, and it was set up within two days. Our water pressure is pretty weak, so it took a full two days to fill. I cleaned out the filter every other day, just used a pressure nozzle on my hose to clean it up. I also ordered replacement filters from amazon for the rest of the summer use. I did need to buy pool chemicals from a pool store to learn how to properly keep the water balanced, but I have no prior experience with Pools, so the store helped me greatly. I definitely recommend running the pool pump overnight to keep the water moving and brooming the bottom of the pool a couple times a week. More if it’s used heavily. Upgrade the pool pump if you can, might make keeping the water cleaner, but bc of Covid and high demand for pools, I was not able to get one. Having said that, however the pump that came with the pool kept the water clean and clear. After summer, we cleaned it and folded it up and managed to get it back in the original box . We did need to use a diluted bleach solution on the underside of the pool, rinse it well, than allow to dry in the sun. Sprinkled talc powder and folded it up. The ground tarp that comes with the pool had to be thrown out, it smelled too bad from sitting on wet grass and mud for 3 months. ... show more

  • Seams leaking water in multiple places...drain, re-pack everything & wait weeks for replacement
Size: 18 ft x 48 in Configuration: Pool
After 3 days spent leveling and making the perfect place in our backyard for this pool, it got delivered late Friday night so we didn't get a chance to get it set up until Saturday morning. We had soccer all afternoon so we all worked hard in the morning to get this laid out, the hoses set up and followed the instructions to a tee. We even did a level check again after an inch of water and all 3 of our boys and I were so proud that it was perfect. We left for soccer games to come a few hours later to water all over the ground outside and under the pool. There must be a hole or two or three in one of the middle seams as water just keeps leaking out from the bottom of the pool in a few spots around the outside with no obvious bubbles so we have no way of knowing where exactly the water is coming from. Needless to say we have 3 very unhappy boys and one very unhappy mommy as now we have to drain all this water (WHAT A WASTE!), dry everything off, roll it up and try and re-pack it into a box to be shipped back. I'm beyond frustrated and so disappointed as we have now wasted days, time, energy, money and water on this thing just to have to send it back...not to mention we had prime shipping on the original package but now wont get the replacement until close to the end of the month! As our first big Amazon purchase I can say I'm less than satisfied. ... show more

  • $179 vs thousands for a permanant pool? This is the winner!
We weren't sure if we were ready to commit to thousands of dollars for a pool, so we went with this. Our yard is on a slight slope, so we had no choice but to dig out a few inches to get a fairly level area. I added dirt and sand to level the area as well as I could. The result was a slight lean to one side, which did not prevent it from being totally filled, but I have to remember to have the filter on the slightly leaning side next year. Our 4 kids loved this pool and it was totally worth the money and the digging in all of the time spent in it. The only issue we had was the filter seal was a challenge to keep sealed. Use the plugs before opening the filter! Get more than one filter cartridge, so you can replace the cartridge right away and rinse out the dirty one and use it next time. I used liquid chlorine from a local pool store, very inexpensive, to keep the water clear. i think I added a half gallon each week which worked well. Its not 15 feet at the top, more like 12 feet. If you get a solar cover, a 12 foot would work well. I got the 15 foot and its too big. Get the vacuum that attaches to the garden hose, using water force to vacuum. It's a weird concept, but it works great. Get a skimmer and a foot bath for the bottom of the ladder to keep grass out. We took our pool down, dried it out, and put it in the basement at the beginning of september. We should get a few more years of use of it. ... show more

  • Love it!
Size: 18 ft x 48 in Configuration: Pool
Easy set up, no air or water leaks. Top air ring doesn’t seem to need topped off yet after being setup for 6 days. It is a perfect backyard swimming pool big enough for a family of 5 to enjoy together without being on top of each other. The hard part is working out any wrinkles (2 people) as your filling the pool. Next year when I put it back up I will open it up and let it set in the sun for a bit before starting to fill and smooth wrinkles. I bought a 15 mil tarp to go under the tarp that comes with it before even seeing the supplied tarp because of reviews. So glad I did because the supplied tarp is very thin and hardly a tarp in my opinion. The pool steps are basic, but functional. Very pleased with the purchase so far. ... show more

  • Don't expect help from Intex.
Size: 18 ft x 48 in Configuration: Pool
There was no ladder and on all booklets and package says don't call retailer call us. Well that is a joke first off the girl that answered the phone barely spoke English after being put on hold forever they said they would never send out without ladder and Amazon must have taken it out cuz it was heavy. Thank God for Amazon they were helpful and courteous and gave me a gift card for a ladder. Unfortunately the ladder I ordered was also messed up but thats another story/bad review. The pool it's self I'd have to give a 5 star and the filter is okay but seems a little weak. Setting up was easy enough just pay close attention leveling it. We came in a quarter inch of level, yah. The kids enjoyed it yesterday cuz we could lift them in and out. The whole ladder thing is just turning into a pain and weather will be hot tomorrow so I'm putting more money out to buy one today and waiting to see if I get my money back on the other one. ... show more
