    • I'm writing this review on my new NUC, barely 24 hours after ordering it.
My NUC was delivered today, barely 24 hours after I ordered it: the small carton box (approx. 6 x 6 x 5") was in impeccable new condition and totally covered by protective plastic film. This box is full of descriptions about the features, technical info and the "INTEL NUC" everywhere, no doubt it is the real thing. Inserting the NUC in the middle of my crowded desk (two laptops/three monitors/one docking station) was a breeze, it didn't take even five minutes to have the NUC hooked, turned on and running. First 20-30 minutes are dedicated to W10 completing its setup. It recognized my wireless network and connected to it in a second. After all is done, it may require you to restart it a couple of times, to get all the pending updates, but all in all it's a seamless process that should take no more than 60 minutes. The fire trial in my case was to run the Cossacks 3 game (2016), which is barely playable on my laptop. After installing it on the NUC from GOG, I found that my calculations - based upon both CPU and Graphic Units PassMark scores - were justified. Playing the game on the NUC feels several times faster than on the Swift 3. Though, this wasn't the main reason I decided to buy this Mini PC. I have been intrigued by them the last few years, until I finally decided to buy me this one to celebrate the birth of my third grandkid, who was born today, thousands of miles apart, almost at the same time the NUC arrived into my home: less than one hour of difference. How about that? PS 03/30/2021: I ran PassMark's PerformanceTest on this PC. This is a summary of results: Overall 3133 43% - CPU 8235 47% - 3D Graphics 1798 27% - 2D Graphics 403 39% - Memory 2260 38% - Disk 15614 74%. The % figures are the percentiles: the share of computers already tested in PassMark DB (+1 MM), which perform below yours, the hereto reviewed one in this case. The media could not be loaded. Way more than I needed and faster than I thought I could have as a PC. I am a MAC girl and yet, have to use a PC for construction and arch design work on propriety software that only operates on PC. Thought I would never be able to do anything quickly on any PC box. WRONG. This little baby beast is exactly the fix with PLENTY of RAM and quad-core speed AND, this thing gets lost in my backpack - fits in my purse for heaven's sake - so mobility is a huge gratis. Ridiculously efficient. If you need a speedy, cool-running little work beast for a great price... buy this killer little NUC. It makes no noise as well. No airplane sound like my HP ENVY I was given from work - I don't miss that and the bulky, sluggish lag of the old laptop. I'm thrilled with it! The media could not be loaded. I came for the RTX 2060 discrete graphics card. This set of machines are really worth it! Only an RTX2060 card can cost you over $1,000. csgo, warzone, pubg, Dota2 and gta5 are all running smoothly, and the host temperature and running sound are all well controlled. Before purchasing, I checked De*ll and App*le as well, but eventually chose this Intel Phantom Canyon mini computer by comparing all of them. It has the highest configuration at the same price. Great performance for the money. Computer is solid build and configures the 11th generation i7-1165G7 CPU. On top of that, it uses discrete graphics memory, with both 4k hdmi and mini DP dual interface which is awesome because you have whichever interface you need. You can also adjust the LED lights colors and brightness or completely turn it off any time you want. All these great setups and such makes it very comparable to the Alienw*are serial. After using for a week, it was turned on 24 hours the day before yesterday, the performance was stable and smooth, and the whole process was amazing. It is undoubtedly verified by Intel and comes with a three-year warranty. I verified by calling the official Intel phone, they were very professional. The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a replacement for my aging third generation i7 desktop computer that I knew would not run Windows 11 when it is officially released. After exhaustive research, I decided to get this NUC11. I chose to buy a unit already configured with RAM, SSD and Windows 10 Pro from Geek+ instead of buying the NUC kit and doing it myself. Intel warrants the NUC for three years but Geek+ warrants the RAM, SSD and OS for three years. By the way, the copy of Windows 10 pro is fully licensed and activated. I read reviews on some other brand micro pc's where people had issues with Windows activation. It is nice to have someone to call for support if needed. If fact, I had a few questions after receiving the NUC so I shot an email off to Geek+'s support email address. I was pleasantly surprised when I quickly received a reply back from Cathy who is Geek+'s Sales Manager. She saw to it that all of my questions were answered quickly. I would rate the after sale customer service as exemplary. The i5-1135G7 processor with the integrated Iris Xe graphics is the perfect fit for me. It is amazing how blazing fast and quiet this little thing is. As you can see in my pictures, the unit sits very comfortably on my desk, right by my new monitor. It is so quiet I hardly notice it. The compliment of current generation I/O packed into such a little box is amazing! Using the display port connector, the Iris Xe runs my Dell monitor at QHD (2560 x 1440) at it's full 165Hz refresh rate.     • Failed after only 2 days of use.
The PC operated well while it was working. Only used it for 2 days for about a total of 7 hours not consecutively, after witch the NUC would no longer post and just flash the blue power led every minute. To bad I kept the useless thing around in the box for over a month until it was ready for use. Total disappointment and as always build your own. ... show more
