Great kettle, it’s small&light in weight. A full kettle of water could probably make 3 cups of tea. My first order it was delivered damaged leaking from the base of the sprout but Amazon processed and return & replacement. The new kettle heats water fast and has a holding temperature feature.

I just got this, but I love the way it looks and it heats up very quickly and it will hold the heat. If you press the button and it gives you the temperature controlled. Makes me wanna drink a tea. Decent kettle! Does the job, boils quite quickly. I love the gooseneck spout! Appearance wise- the handle, which is of course not real wood, looks very fake close up, but not a deal breaker or anything. Looks nice on the counter and doesn't take up too much space. It doesnt get loud when boiling water, but it chimes loud enough to hear across the room when it comes to temp. I own the Fellow Stagg EKG kettle and love it but when purchasing another kettle for my second home I didn’t want to spend $200 on something I only use occasionally when I’m in town. I ordered this one instead as it “looks” the same. Here’s the good: kettle does very much look like the Stagg kettle. Similar shape and placement of the gooseneck, holds about the same amount of water. Has what I am assuming based on look and feel is a faux walnut handle but the knob to grab the lid is plastic. The heating base the kettle sits on is square like the Stagg with digital display. In terms of functions it does all the same things. You can set temp within one degree, hold the temp and use the timer to start it. Just sitting on your counter it looks almost like a $200 kettle. The tells: the feel of it in your hands. It’s definitely lighter weight and when you pour the balance of the ergonomics is fine but is not the Stagg kettle. Would I notice this if I didn’t already own the expensive kettle? No. Second tell is on the inside of the kettle. Where the fill line is instead of just an etch line with the word fill they have this weird tab that’s like saudered on there and it says fill in tiny writing. At first I was like this seems wonky, why not just do what Fellow does? Then I realized the little tab also attaches to the top part of the handle on the outside. On the Stagg kettle the handle appears to be seamlessly attached so I don’t know how long this wonky tab thing will hold out whilst being exposed to heat and water corrosion with every use. The third tell is the on the heating base or rather the entire base itself. It’s very light weight and where as the heating element on the Stagg is clearly robust copper coil the element on this kettle looks like it’s made of plastic which of course can’t be the case but the point is you can’t see the copper filament. Fourth tell is heating time. This kettle does not go from cold to 200 degrees nearly as fast. The Stagg less than two mins but this one takes at least twice the amount of time. Not a big deal to me but some might call that a deal breaker. Some people also mention all the loud beeping. It is pretty loud and when it’s early in the morning and I have the grandkids sleeping in the next room it is annoying. Bottom line: I feel like the value for what you pay is definitely there. It’s less than half the price of the Stagg and basically does the same thing with less finesse. The durability is not quite the same as the kettle is clearly lighter weight and has that weird metal tab inside but again for my purposes of only occasional use it’s probably ok. Bottom line: if you have the $200 and want to buy the real deal because you are a serious coffe, tea or yeast bread maker who will use a kettle daily then go for it! If you just like the aesthetic of the Stagg kettle then this is a respectable alternative. ... show more
