I think this product works best when you don't lather it up. It's best if you just let it sit on your hair for a while. Although it is a pretty effective shampoo, I think that the hair dye dissipates when it bubbles up and it is not as concentrated.

I have never in my life seen or heard of this product and the smell is absolutely awful but for hair dye that doesn't have all the strong chemicals to it and this is jst a shampoo you leave on the hair then wash out even with my hair not bleached before I can still see the color really strong! I absolutely love this product now

I am a regular hair color user. My hair grows out fast and the roots grow in completely grey. So I was looking at this shampoo as an alternative to more frequent coloring. The package comes with 4 pairs of gloves - depending on the amount used, I'm hoping there is more than 4 applications in that bottle. The full (ish) instructions are only on the box. The instructions on the bottle don't say, for example, that you need to apply to dry hair, it just says apply, wait and rinse. I did not shake the bottle before starting. The stuff comes out half clear half color and it smells pretty bad (but so do regular hair colors). Mixing it in my hands, it became a very unappealing greenish - brown. I then spread it on my roots and the rest of the hair and waited about 10 minutes before washing it off. I was pleasantly surprised that after I rinsed it and used regular shampoo after, there was no color coming off. The final result was very subtle. I did not see any difference on my already colored hair but it did seem to have colored my grey roots with a very light auburn. Next time I think I will be thorougher applying to the grey areas.

I love the color that this shampoo provides, it's a copper-red color with the slightest hint of silver in it. It shines like no other, and my hair can continue being healthy without all the harsh chemicals from standard dyes. I love the way I can just go about my day after dying my hair too, since it is a shampoo, it doesn't take long to do, and I don't feel sick after using it. However, the smell is borderline unbearable. I wash with this shampoo, and the smell sticks like no other. It is atrocious. I have tried shampooing with better-smelling products, as well as conditioning. I've tried using leave-in conditioner, argan oils, etc, but the smell just doesn't want to go away. It usually takes 2-3 days for the smell to completely leave my hair, even if I wash it multiple times. I wish there was a product that worked like this but just smelled better.

I used to dye my hair with the box dyes that you get at the stores. I have dark hair with lots of gray showing, medium length. The box dyes not only smelled bad (ammonia covered with a cheap perfume) but they dried out my hair. These dyes are easy to use. Just rub in like shampoo and wait a while and then rinse out. They leave your hair looking really shiny. The only issue is that they will dye your hands so you have to wear the gloves provided. The bottle will last for several hair coloring sessions but you will need more gloves. The dye is a bit runny - like shampoo and it can make a mess, so cover your counters. I have to leave the brown-colored dyes on my hair for about 10-15 minutes to cover the gray. If you are using the black, it pretty much needs to be rinsed off immediately or you will look goth. The red or wine color tends to make your gray hair look rather orange. The browns and coffees are great... very natural. The dye smells a bit but not as bad as chemicals and cheap perfume like the box dyes but the smell washes out with a rinse. Great product and I will never use the box dyes from the store ever again.
