Oh my goodness, these stakes are amazing! They are so well constructed and could secure something much heavier than what I used them for. The kit includes 4- 24" drill-driven stakes with the driving socket included. It also includes 8 heavy 3" long lags which a finely milled, lots of washers for all applications, and 4 bolts to secure the L bracket to the top of the stake, after driving it into the ground. The most convenient feature is the drill socket (17mm?) that fits all the stakes and all the nuts ... cool cool! Where I live, rocks are not an issue, but tree roots are. These stakes seemed to march right through everything except an unknown buried block of 2x6. The thing that caught my eye was that the U-bolts, which attach the L bracket to a metal post, is not U-shaped, it is "V" shaped. That is a critical feature if you are securing a canopy, trampoline, chain-link fence uprights ... any round structure. If you are securing a wooden structure, you would not use these, so the shape of the "U"/"V' bolt wouldn't matter much. The L brackets are super beefy and heavy, with a chrome finish, and nicely milled. I counln't be more impressed with the construction quality and wouldn't hesitate to use them on a heavier structure ... providing the ground below has got good bite! ... show more

Love these. Quality was solid. I’m a mechanic and used a cordless 1/2” impact gun with a 14mm socket, and I could run these in a dense compacted gravel area and soft ground in only a few seconds. The stakes come with a 14mm driver for a 1/4” impact driver, which I have doubts on, but that might work for very soft ground. The U-bolts, nuts and washers are stainless. The nuts have a nylon insert to avoid coming loose. The heavy L brackets are zinc plated steel, I believe 3/16” or 1/4” plate based off memory. The top of the auger screws are designed to accept a 8mm bolt, and the kit includes some 1” stainless ones. Would gladly buy more. ... show more

Heavy duty, full weld along the screw. I took them in and out several times and they held up well. Kinda wish the brackets were drilled differently so they could positioned either way.

    • Worked great. They will work in rocky soil, though driving them in is difficult.

These worked fine and seem sturdy. No complaints. One thing I will say is that if you live in New England and have rocky soil like mine, that little 1/4 hex drive adapter is a joke. It took a 3lb sledge and a breaker bar for me to get them in, but they did go. When you hit a rock, it's like hitting a screw with another screw in wood. The anchor veers of at a weird angle, but it will keep going. 3 of my 4 anchors ended up relatively straight but the last one came out visibly crooked. These worked well for my application. Used for anchoring 8' x 10' resin shed wood foundation, 2 ea. 24" anchors per side. Live in south Louisiana, clay soil with some rocks, not easy digging. The 14mm drill adapter feature makes all the difference, was able to use the drill to get about 1/2 of the anchor in, and the included adapter also has a 17mm outer profile so I was able to use a 1/2" drive ratchet to finish the burial (albeit with a LOT of effort). Glad I got the 24" instead of the 30", very tough digging for me, would have never made full burial with the 30". Also used 6 ea. 24" Insaga anchors (3 each side) with the pad-eye type end fitting, that in combination with 3 x big-ass ratchet tiedowns going over each of the roof sections will help keeping things in one piece during the storms we'll get. ... show more

I do not and can not recommend these. The lock nuts are not threaded the same as the U bolts. They go on and bind up because they are chewing up the threads causing them to bind up. When you try reversing them they snap off the U bolt or rip out the threads where you can not get them off. I ruined 3 of the 6 U bolts before I just got my own metric nuts that went on perfectly. ... show more
