I got this incubator and decided to try it out. I plucked 5 eggs from my basket and placed them in the incubator with the turn tray in place. I followed the directions and it seemed like it pretty much set itself up for the temperature and humidity I needed. I started with one bottle of water and added a second once I was within 3 days of hatching. I wish the top sat in a groove as it is easy to shift off the base. My cat jumped on the table where I had it and later the alarm went off to notify me that my humidity level had dropped below 40. I quickly lined the lid back up and the humidity went back up. I tried the built in candles and was able to see into a light shelled egg. My darker eggs, I couldn't really see in. 3 days from hatch, I removed the egg turner. I did also put down some shelf liner to try to avoid splayed leg and added the second bottle of water and opened the air vent in the back to half. At day 21, one chick hatched and on day 22, another hatched. So, from 5 eggs, I successfully hatched 2 chicks. There is a good chance 2 of the other eggs were not fertilized. One remaining egg I broke open and it appeared it had begin forming but stopped very early on. If I decide to hatch more eggs in the spring, I would definitely try this one again.

The media could not be loaded. I've been through three other incubators this year and this one is the most complete. Has all the basics and also some nice innovations, like the panel to prevent hot air from blowing directly on the eggs and two water bottles with spring loaded valves. The egg turning feature is nice in that the eggs are "captive" and won't bunch up on each other. The cover is "tall" enough to let freshly hatched chicks rest and dry out before moving them to a brooder. Wish I had found this one first.
