Features

  • Smart temperature control with adjustable thermostat. Set your preferred water temperature in F up to a factory limit of 175F. This immersion heater with thermostat and temp control pauses at the setpoint and reheats after a 15F drop to maintain a steady level
  • Built for safety. Auto shutoff and dry burn prevention cut power when water is low or the target is reached. A heavy duty 14-gauge power cord adds durability. Keep the controller dry and above the water line. This immersion water heater is tested for reliable daily use
  • 1800W efficient heating for many uses. Works as a bathtub heater, hot tub heater, bucket heater, pool heater, mini pool heater, and above ground pool heater. Ideal for tubs, buckets, inflatable pools, stock tanks, farm tanks, garages and basements. A truly portable water heater for home and farm tasks
  • Real-time temperature display for easy monitoring. The digital controller shows the current water temperature at a glance. Because the probe sits close to the heating tube, the reading can be about 5 F higher than the actual water temperature. Helps you fine-tune comfort in baths buckets and small pools
  • Plug-and-play submersible water heater. Submerge the heater and keep the controller dry, then plug in a standard 120 V outlet. Extension cords and power strips are acceptable when 14-gauge or better and rated for 15 A. Designed for long duration use when used as directed. No special maintenance needed

  • Great immersion heater
Very solidly built immersion heater. You have to fully submerse the heating element in water or an alarm will trip for safety (since the heater would overheat if not in water). The readout is nice and clear. It tells you the current temp and you can set your desired temp easily. Once it reaches temp, it waits until it drops 15 degrees F before bringing back up to temp. I use this as an emergency backup for our hot tub in case our heater dies when it’s extremely cold outside. I don’t want the water to freeze and crack the hot tub shell. This should keep the water warm until a technician can fix the heater. The unit is nice and compact. It would easily fit in a 5 gallon bucket. The stainless steel on it is nicely finished. And the instructions included are clear and well written. Overall really happy with this! ... show more

  • Turns off randomly, won't heat hottub
I have tried two different versions of this heater and they both fail to heat. The intelligence on this is keeps turning off the heater after a few minutes or hours. There is no setting for this, it just beeps and turns off. There is a cheap heater that just heats, no controls or buttons. That sucker works fine but it will get way too hot and we have to run the bubbler for 20 min to cool it down to 106 or so. ... show more

  • It’s okay! Might need more.
I have a 500 gallon Bullfrog Hot tub and I have to give this item 3 stars only. For one the product is well built. I like the safety things on it. It has an automatic stuff off once the temperature hits it set point. It does have a casing around it so items around it does not get burnt. However, the cord is way too short from the heating element and the box. I was unable to put the heater in the middle or bottom of my hot tub. Also, it was unable to heat up my 500 gallon tub. I bought this just in case my tub stopped working for winter precautions. I would need to buy at-least 3 of these things. !! Overall the quality was great. Just lacking some things and it needs more powaaaaa!!! ... show more

  • Works Fast, Has Safety in Mind
This immersion heater works great. It heats very quickly and cycles on/off to keep the temperature within 15 degrees of the set point. For safety, it ranges up to but not over the set point and has a low water level audible alarm, which prevents it from heating in that state. It’s well made with solid welds and no sharp corners. The heating element is caged in a box. I found that if I let it cycle a few times before using the water, the temperature becomes more consistent. On my first try, the set point was 120 degrees, but when I tested the temperature, it was too cold, so I raised it five degrees and let it cycle. That was too hot after a few cycles. 120 and three cycles was perfect. Because of its wattage, this heater is really fast in a small one-gallon tub and still much faster than my old one in a five-gallon bucket. I did not test its tub capabilities, although it does say it can heat a tub. The temperatures are in Fahrenheit; no Celsius. The power cord is nice and thick, and I did not notice the cord heating up; it provides good safe electrical flow. The remote is placed as far away from the water as possible, so expect to lean over to change the settings. It also comes with a hook and loop type wire tamer that is not permanently attached. Do I recommend this heater? Yes. Is it worth $80? Absolutely yes. I purchased it to heat portable shower water, and it does that with ease. I do not have to wait very long for the water to be ready. ... show more

  • Thermostat doesn't work at all.
Two stars - It does heat the water and there is an audible alarm if the unit is not in the water. The alleged thermostat feature is wildly erratic and cannot be trusted to make the water whatever temperature you set it at. The 15 degree swing means you can set it for 100 degrees and it will heat your hot tub to 115 degrees. Way too hot. Or it will shut itself off at 85 degrees. Also the temperature settings are in 5 degree increments so you can't set it for 101 degrees. Not that it matters because it doesn't make the water anywhere near where you set it. The work-around is to put the unit on a heavy duty timer that will shut it off in a set period of time so it doesn't boil your hot tub. You will also need a separate thermometer to see what the temperature really is because the unit isn't reliable for that either. ... show more

  • Save your money
First one didn’t work. Second one works but it takes an hour to get a bath tub to warm. Not worth it.

  • This Unit Heats Strong
I got this immersion water heater not knowing for certain what I might use it for. Then I stared at my dog who likes warm baths, not cold ones. I have a nice bucket for bathing her, so I wanted to try heating up water using the outdoor faucet water. In summary, I filled the bucket with about 4 gallons of water and it pre-warmed in the sun at 85 F, then set the thermostat to 120 F. It hit the target in 10.5 minutes. I used my infrared thermometer to double check the water temperature along the way and it was in the zone. The controller light will be red as it heats up, and when it reaches temperature the light changes to green. I found the controller easy to use, with a simple on/off switch and a plus and minus button to set the temperature. A nice safety feature is the auto-cutoff of power if the unit is not submerged. A couple things I noted – the manual says the water temperature lags the value on the controller display, but I did not find that to be the case with my smaller tub of water. If I could change one thing, it would be to have the ability to adjust the temperature maintenance value which is 15 degrees F. I would prefer a tighter range of 5 to 10 degrees F. Overall, I found this water heater to be really helpful for washing my dog, especially as the weather gets colder. I think she enjoyed her bath for the first time! I expect us to take this powerful immersion water heater camping with us as well this fall as the weather gets colder. ... show more

  • Heats water and can keep temperature
Got to use for portable camping shower, heats water quickly with my inverter, can adjust the temperature so I don't heat water too much. Can leave plugged in and when temperature drops it kicks back on
