Does not heat up a small above ground pool fast at all. Might work well for small amounts off water, but had it going for a couple hours and never got off of 67°.

I'm pushing the envelope for what these are supposed to be used for. Constant immersion in a hot tub. Keeping it between 113 and 114°. It hasn't started electrifying the water yet. Most others did by now. Did not like the included thermostat wired in with a 5° range. I've got my own thermostatically controlled outlet and when it shut this Gizmo off it wouldn't turn back on automatically when the power came back on to it. No problem DIY. I just cut the thermostat out and soldered the power cord back together. Got to say this thing heats the water faster than higher wattage units due to the better heat transfer. Seems the increase in price went to better design and a longer lasting unit. Even with other heaters I was blowing up thermostats so I wired a relay in to handle the 1800 w heater plus a 300 w pump that turned on with my separate thermostat. This heater just cranks. I can't believe how fast it heats the water. I got a 14° increase from 101 to 115 with 90 gallons of water in about an hour. Almost 2 months in and it still is not electrifying the water. And it just heats like a champ. So much better than the others I've tried. Recommend!!!

Having gone through two or three of the less cost, not fail safe versions, I opt'd for this. I is worth the extra nickel, if only by beeping me when on and out of water. I like the thermostat aspect's also. Will cease when a preset is achieved, and indicate approximate water temperature at it's level (bottom normally.

This worked for 2 days. It was dropped in the pool too far for literally seconds and corroded inside of the electric box and didn't work after that. I feel like as a pool item, they should build it for such accidents to not ruin it.

It worked great the first time we used it. Our ten year old Japanese hot tub water heater has gone out. I plugged this heating unit in the same GFI outlet that would have normally had the tub plugged in and within a few hours it was just right. We unplugged it and the next morning we plugged it back in to the GFI and it kept tripping as if it had a short. The outlet would not stay on. So I really don't know if it is the outlet that is broken, or the unit isn't working. I was really nice and perfect when we first used it. I love the fact that it has the ability to dial in the temperature you want and hold it there.

I’m really impressed with this portable immersion water heater! I tested it with 2 liters of water, and it heated up incredibly fast—reaching about 140°F in no time. It’s efficient and perfect for quick hot water needs. Love the smart design with the thermostat positioned at the top of the heating element, plus the built-in alarm and auto shutoff for safety if the heater isn’t properly immersed or if any issue is detected. Works perfectly with my DIY 5-gallon camping portable shower setup. Highly recommend!

Really impressed with this heater. It heats up water way faster than I expected and the thermostat works great for keeping the temp where I want it. The digital display is super convenient so I can monitor the water temp in real time, and the dry burn protection gives extra peace of mind. Also love that the cord is thick/heavy-duty—not one of those cheap flimsy cords. Been using it for buckets and tub heating and it’s worked flawlessly so far. Feels very solid and well built. Definitely worth the money.
