I have had my robot friend, Simon, for a week. First impressions upon opening the box was an “Oooo Aahhh”. The directions said to let your new robot friend charge overnight before first use, but of course, I ran him around immediately to just see how he works! He worked for about ten minutes. I couldn’t figure out how to get him to his home (charging station), but it turns out, he can find his own way home just fine. I recommend that you do take a few minutes to read the directions and familiarize yourself with the remote. It took about 4 hours or so for Simon to fully charge, then I turned him loose. Let me just say, I thought my floors were clean, or, at least, pretty clean. As it turns out, they were not. They were not clean at all. Simon has picked up so much fur, dirt, dust, it’s unbelievable. My floors have literally never looked better! They are CLEAN. For real clean. I’ve always had a hard time cleaning under the bed, but now I don’t have to worry about it at all, because my robot friend takes care of it. I have all hardwood floors and tile. I also have a few throw rugs, some thick, some thin. Simon does a perfect job on the floors, and has no problems navigating over the throw rugs (though he might turn up a corner, but he will run back over it and still get it clean). I don’t think your robot friend would work very well if you have a lot of or mostly carpet. If you have hardwood or mostly hardwood, you will love your new robot friend. Simon mostly gets from room to room okay – the “up” entry points he cannot do on his own. For example, he cannot get over the hump into my kitchen, but he can get down the hump. He also cannot get over the hump to get in the bathrooms. This is actually fine for me, because I prefer to control when he goes into the kitchen anyway so that I can shake off the rugs and/or pick up the cat food and water bowls and any shoes or other things that might be on the floor. I just put a bar stool in his way to keep him from exiting the kitchen when it’s time for him to clean in the kitchen. Simon will clean for about 3 or 3.5 hours. He does not have a “plan” so to speak, not like a person would say go from corner to the center of the room, but he is still very thorough, and obviously, his plan is way better than mine since my floors are so much cleaner than they ever were when I was in charge. My advice is to just trust the process and let your robot friend find his way around on his own! Just make sure that you pick up any cords, especially small cords like phone charging cords, and shoe laces or the like, so that he doesn’t accidentally grab onto something he shouldn’t. Simon also has sensors so that when he comes to a piece of furniture or a wall, he will slow down so as to gently bump it before he turns off into a new direction. I have also noticed that if he comes into contact with a chair or table leg, he will often go in a circle all the way around the leg to clean around it. Once your robot friend is done doing your dirty work for you, he will go back home on his own. If your robot friend cannot find his way home, you may not have provided him enough space. Is that any way to treat your new best friend?? Make sure that he has several feet of clear space in front of his charging station, and that there are a few feet of clear space on the sides of the charging station as well. Also, make sure to empty out his dust bin after every use. One of the fortunate side effects of having my new robot friend, is the “give a mouse a cookie” effect it seems to have had. Give a person a clean floor, and the person may say oh, it looks so clean in here, let me pick up this shirt and put it away. The person then notices that the bathroom trash can is full; since the floors look so nice, the bathroom should be clean, too *cleans bathroom*, and so on. The only thing about my new robot friend, which isn’t enough to bother me at all, is that he is, well, he’s not super loud, but he’s not very quiet either. So, if you are watching tv, you may need to turn it up just a bit if you are running your robot friend while you’re at home. Well worth it for the service he provides, though. Overall, I do recommend this little robot. I am very pleased with this purchase. If you’re in the market for a robot floor cleaning wizard, don’t hesitate to click that Buy Now button.

The dust container is a little bit small, (never had one of these before so it might be the same size as them rest of them) needs to be cleaned after each use. Works well on cat hair, long human hair, dust/dirt, sucks so well, it will suck in your sock if you leave it out (my daughter learned the hard way). Make sure to put stuff up before hand. Sensors work great, super easy to use. Just turn it on and let it do its thing.

We've had Count Vacula going on three months now, and we're pretty happy with him. With two cats and a yellow lab mix who sheds constantly, the Count has really reduced the amount of "hair tumbleweeds" blowing through the house. I think this is a sentiment expressed by most people who have a robot vacuum, but it was surprising just how much stuff was in there the first time we ran it (and is in there every time we've run it since). For the reduction in pet hair alone, this was well worth the cost and we'd purchase again. Pros: 1.) Sucks up pet hair and dust like nobody's business. 2.) Super easy to empty. 3.) Mostly pretty good about spitting things out that don't fit. He tried to vacuum up my phone charger once and ended up just kind of dragging it around the house until I rescued it. No harm done. 4.) Related to #3, the way that it works, there's no destruction done if it does run over a cord or something. 5.) We usually put it up manually (either pick him up and set him on the charger or hit the home button) but we have come home after the scheduled time once or twice to find that he's run and is sitting happily on his charging dock--that said, he does have some issues with getting stuck (see cons). 6.) Came with some replacement parts so we won't have to buy them ourself for a good while. 7.) The remote is nice and the scheduling feature works perfectly (FYI you have to hit the play button once or the vacuum has to be already running for the machine to receive any scheduling changes you make. It'll beep if you've successfully sent the schedule.) Cons: 1.) If you have anything that's around the height of the vacuum, he will shove himself under it and get stuck. He will also get stuck on top of things around an inch high if possible. - In our house, the bathroom vanity and a trunk with legs are the exact height for him to drive himself beneath them and get wedged. When this happens, he will eventually beep for help and turn off, so if we weren't home, the worst that would happen is we'd come home to find him asleep under the bathroom vanity. - We had an inch high piece of trim going from one room to another (that we have since taken out because it was a temporary remodeling thing), but he'd drive himself onto it and then decide he could go no farther. I suspect as most homes don't have stuff like this going on, it won't be a problem for most people. (As a Note: I do plan to e6000 something onto the little ridge that is supposed to help sense places he won't fit in hopes that it'll end the wedging and let him run smoothly. So maybe an idea for anyone else with this problem?) 2.) The vacuum doesn't stop when it's full, which means it'll sometimes keep on running even when it's not doing anything. I won't complain about the size of the bin because given the size of a robot vacuum, how much bigger could it really be? But I do wish the vacuum sensed when it was full and beeped and turned off until emptied. 3). I think all robot vacuums have problems with the color black, but he won't go over a mostly black rug. 4.) He pushes his home charger around a lot. I'm not sure why he doesn't have some internal sense of like "my home is always in X spot and maybe I shouldn't shove it along the wall while I'm vacuuming next to it" but he doesn't. If he comes at it sideways, he will crash right into it. I suspect some command strips or something that wouldn't damage the floor could fix this though. We just haven't bothered with it since it takes a whole second to deal with. 5.) Not so much a con for us, but I can see how it could be for others so I'm including it: he usually senses a drop and doesn't go past it, BUT he has, two times in the past three months, launched himself off the little dip into our living room. If you live in a single level house or have a low drop like we do where it won't harm the machine, this won't matter much, but this might not be ideal if you're going to run him in an upstairs area. Takeaways: This vacuum is exactly what we needed. For now. Are there better models out there? Definitely. Do they cost what this one does (especially considering there were some steep discounts on at the time of purchase)? No. For the most part, despite some issues, we're pretty happy with it and what it's done to keep our home cleaner, reduce how often we have to clean, and just keeping the air less dusty and dandery. Our hope is that we can upgrade in a year or two when there are more affordable self-emptying models on the market, but Count Vacula definitely gets the job done and is a welcome addition to our home for now.

Purchased the iLife v3s pro at end of November, 2021 on Black Friday sale. So it has had daily use for 2 months. I had soured on robot vacuums after going through 2 expensive iRobot vacs 7-8 years ago that got pet hair hopelessly entangled in its main brush gears and constant hangups under chairs. The iLife caught my attention first because of the low price and the high customer ratings. My interest piqued when I read that it had no central brush, just two counter-rotating side brushes. Simple design. One thing that did work well on the iRobots was their single side brushes, which had few issues. The iLife having 2 seemed like a good idea. I have a super shedder Golden. Reviews confirmed that this did great on pet hair. So I sprung for this vacuum, and so glad I did. I programmed the schedule for it to run automatically every morning before I get up to clean a large great room, kitchen with a table rug with short tassels and runner along the island, attached mud/laundry, an entry with a thick rug, and a long hallway. The v3s bin is full every day, mostly with hair, but also a lot of small crumbs and fine dust. It’s pretty impressive what it picks up, actually. It climbs up the entry rug, which is almost and inch thick, with no problem. It has never tumbled down the staircase near the entry. Sometimes the side brushes catch a corner of the kitchen rugs, but the vac does a maneuver where it rotates 90 degrees and goes to one side or the other and disentangles from the raised rug. I never have to intervene. It does well on the carpet in the great room. All of the rugs are very low pile, and the carpet is medium pile. I don’t know how it would handle shag rugs or carpet. It does dishevel the kitchen table rug tassels a bit. You do have to tie up electrical chords a few inches off the floor, and it did get hung up a few times on the Christmas tree skirt. If you let it run, it cleans for about 1.5 hours and returns to the charger. The return is hit and miss. But I found about an hour is long enough, so after that time I pick up the unit, take it over to the hallway down which the charger is located, aim it at the charger and push the start button to start it on its way. After a few seconds I press the Home button on the remote and it reliably finds its way back and starts charging. All of that takes about 15 seconds. Daily 5 minute or less maintenance involves wiping dust from the front and back screens with a wet paper towel or kleenex, and emptying the dust bin. When I dump the dust bin, I take out the main filter and tap it clean against the inside of the garbage can. I tap the open dust bin gently against the garbage can to dislodge dust from the fine filter. Every few days I take the fine filter out and tap it against the inside of the garbage can to dislodge even more fine dust. I haven’t replaced the fine dust filter yet, but I did buy a box of 10 from iLife on Amazon, which I think will be about a 2 year or more supply. After about 6 weeks I noticed some fuzz coming from underneath the bases of the side brushes. They were easy to unscrew and both had dog hair and lint wound around the stem of the brushes that was easy to pull out. No hair down in the gears. This took about 5 minutes and will probably be needed on a fairly regular basis. Does it clean perfectly? No, but almost. Along the kitchen runner where it has one wheel up on the rug and one wheel on the wood floor, it misses a few crumbs that I have to pick up with a broom or my Dyson. Occasionally there is a crumb that I wet a finger and pick up by hand. Now and then the corners need to be cleaned by hand. But overall it has almost eliminated the need to vacuum regularly. Bottom line, I love this thing. Praying that it holds up long term.

The ILife has good suction. Unfortunately, as an earlier review stated, the guidance system is poor. The machine had trouble making it back to the base and that function is very important for us. The remote setting did not appear to work. We scheduled a start time, but the ILife did not perform.

Runs quiet, cleans well on wood floors, and flat rugs. Would not run well alone on high pile rug. You could manual on high pile rug using remote control. Lighter than my past ILife Robot Vacuum Cleaner. Would purchase again as have good quality.

I don't think I can begin without first saying... Where has this little guy been my entire adult life? Seriously my fellow citizens, if you have pets and feel like managing hair is an uphill battle, you need this product. Living in our home is 2 adults, a German Shepherd and a cat. Our GS sheds like she gets paid to do it. My usual routine was to vacuum on Wednesday's and Saturday's and most of the time, I would have to pull our the Shark on other days due to all of the hair that my girl dropped on the daily. With the bag-less Shark meant for pets, I would empty the canister 3 times each time I vacuumed, and that is no exaggeration.... I no longer have to pull out the Shark on day's other than my usual Wed and Saturday! IT IS THE BEST! After receiving this guy (haven't named him yet), within the week, I knew I was falling in love. I don't have him set to run every day at the same time, so I run manually when I choose. Let's get to the great things this little guy does for me and a couple of his hiccups: 1. I run him every day (except on Wed/Sat when I Shark vacuum) usually in the evenings when we're home from work. He runs about 2 hours and I stop him twice during that time to clean out the bin. 2. He's taken on, what looks to be 5 different paths in our home. I've never had one before, so I don't know what it would be like to have one that learns the home, but this one works for our needs. He takes a different path each day and then you get a good rotation for the entire week. 3. I only use him on hard-wood and ceramic tile. I don't use him on carpet because I don't think he has the suction to handle that type of job. I let my Shark handle that for me. Again, I have a large GS and a cat. 4. He does go over my normal thickness rugs, but he will not attempt the thick piled run in my living area, nor would I expect him as when he does find his way on the rug - he really has to work to get back down. 5. He will get stuck from time to time under a certain cabinet in my kitchen, guess that's a low spot. I try to watch out for that area. He will also get stuck under my dining room table that seats 6 and is very tight. Usually, he works his way through the areas perfectly, but he has gotten stuck twice under there and turned itself off. 6. Had recently dropped a coffee cup in the kitchen, put him on spot and he cleaned up the small shards nicely. 7. I love to set him to clean around the baseboards - that is a nice option for people with pets because the hair tends to hug the baseboards in high traffic areas like my hallway. Such a quick pick-up when company is coming and you're in a time crunch. 8. He usually always finds his way back to his base. When he fails to find home, it's because I had to purposely move him SEVERAL times for one reason or the other. If I move him once or twice, he still finds home. 9. My dog has zero problem with him, was concerned as she hates the Shark and tries to attack it. This one, doesn't bother her one bit. Our cat is completely infatuated and follows him all over the house. 10. He's not quiet, so you may not be able to nap while it's running. We can still watch TV and have a conversation while he's out doing his cleaning. I hope this review helps others that are on fence. Like I said, I've never owned a robot vac before, so I don't have anything to compare. If you're trying not to spend a fortune and want results, you'll get it with this one. Again, I use for hardwood and ceramic tile floors only. I don't think you would get great results for carpeted floors cleaning up after pets, just my opinion that it's not strong enough to handle that type of job. I love that I'm able to manage the pet hair in my home with this little guy, it totally works for us. This one is relatively inexpensive compared to others on the market. In my opinion, I can't see those other high-dollar brands being that much better to warrant the money.

10/2/21 UPDATE: Original one died after ten months with two months left on warranty. Vacuum kept coming out of port and just kept turning in a circle. Cleaned it and reset it. Still didn't work. Even have it plugged into a surge protector and unplug when storms in area. Contacted iLife Customer Service through Amazon and they sent us a refurbished replacement. No hassles either. 12/10/20: Love this little robot so much that I purchased another one! 12/2/20: We figured out what happened on 11/6/20. Whatever you do, don't unplug it while it's in the charging base. It resets and loses its charge, which is what happened. Hence, it didn't last as long when vacuuming. All is well since we figured that out. This is our new best friend. 11/6/20 UPDATE: After nearly a week of regular scheduled use, today it vacuumed for nearly an hour then surprisingly returned to the battery dock. Hopefully, this isn't something going bad now. We'll see and will update again, as necessary! Mind you all week it vacuumed two hours straight each day without retuning to the charging dock. What happened today? Initial REVIEW: I've wanted a robot vacuum for a few years now but could never bring myself to spend a few hundred dollars for a vacuum with mixed reviews. This one, however caught my eye because 1) it was made especially for picking up animal hair, 2) it was an Amazon daily deal 3) and it was a decent price. We've had it four days so far and have used it every day, both on manual cleaning mode and on scheduled mode. This was a worthwhile purchase that I don't have a regret making. It really works great on bare floors and really does pick up animal hair and cat litter. It even works on thin throw rugs. Not so well on thicker throw and bathroom rugs, but I knew that going in. It will never replace a big manual vacuum but it does cut down on our vacuuming every day which we had to do. The suction is powerful. Watch out for hanging drapes and toys. One good pro is if it can't vacuum over something it will automatically shut itself off. One CON is is our house with two large dogs and two cats even with regular vacuuming we did this thing needs regular emptying of the filter cup every twenty minutes to keep it working strongly to pick up everything. Easy to use and empty out. Our two dogs and cats don't pay it any mind. Though on the first day one cat and one dog were leery of it. Noise is minimal, lower in volume than a cordless and large upright vacuum. Highly recommend! Another con with ours anyway is that it does NOT automatically go back to the charging station when it runs low. Is that a defect?
