  • Simple and rugged design
Size: 2 Bike Rack
My only issue is the alignment and/or size of the lower bolt holes, i.e. cannot just tip it up and insert the bolt; Have to lift the entire rack to align the holes. This is very difficult if bikes are already on the rack.

  • Hard to keep secure to hitch
Size: 2 Bike Rack
For some reason the anti sway plate does not stay tight and as a result the rack bounces around inside the hitch. Maybe it’s operator error

  • Good design, strong, but sloppy design execution.
Size: 2 Bike Rack
Thie bike rack is well designed, study, and uses rugged steel components, but the holes for the removable pin to pivot the rack away from the tailgate did not line up. I had to use a rat-tail file for about an hour to get the holes to line up. I also beveled the tip of the pin to make the pin easier to insert. Photo 1 shows the misalignment, photo 2 shows the pin inserted in the bike rack (only after the extensive filling) shown in the shiny holes in photo 3. I like this rack, and recommend to the manufacturer that they use better quality control with a jig or fixture to make sure the holes line up as they should. I have dealt with manufacturers for years as an engineer in quality and manufacturing processes. This is a very cost effective rack, but the customer should be prepared to make adjustments as needed. ... show more

  • Good, inexpensive receiver bike rack
Size: 2 Bike Rack
This is a good, inexpensive bicycle rack for your 2" receiver. It's NOT as sturdy or easy to use as one with wheel cradles but then again it's not that expensive or heavy. I have one of those and leave it on my RV. I was looking for a light weight bike rack to take on and off my car as needed and for traveling less than 100 miles. Overall, the rack fits those needs quite well. A couple of comments: (1) use the anti-rattle hitch tightener which you get free now (or BUY one). It will still rattle a bit as all of this type do but it makes a world of difference. (2) I use a locking pin rather than the one that came with the rack. Their pin is sturdy but I want the rack to be there when I get back from my ride. (3) Be sure to strap your bike to minimize sway. (4) Unlike the picture in the Amazon details, the instructions say you can not swing the rack down with bikes on it. I have not tried as it isn't that sturdy a rack and believe the insert from the company. That said, when it's empty, the rack swings away from the vehicle nicely and easily with just the release of the locking pin. I can then open the hatch back of my Outback. (5) The rack obscures the backup camera just enough to make it challenging. Go old school and use your side and rear view mirrors and turn your head or worst case, GOAL (get out and look). (6) if you leave the rack on the car, the arms easily drop down. (7) The ends of the arms have red reflectors on them; a nice safety feature. (8) it is very light weight and easy to remove should you want to. Easier if you use a non-threaded hitch pin :-) (9) And lastly, the wrenches included are light weight and would be good backups or light to carry in your bike bag but they sure don't give you the correct sizes in the instructions if you want to use your own sturdier wrenches or sockets. You'll need an 11/16th for the hitch pin. ... show more

  • My Ikuram Bicycle Carrier Rack
Size: 2 Bike Rack
This is just what the doctor ordered. This is an excellent no nonsense bicycle carrier. It is well-built and very functional. I only wish I had purchased this years ago. I most sincerely recommend this product to anyone owning a bicycle.

  • Incredible value at this price
Size: 2 Bike Rack
I have used this to drive 250 miles round trip to a friends house for a few days. Carried my bike perfectly. A couple notes. My VW ID.4 is not a wide vehicle and using just the cross bar the back tire stuck over a foot past the passenger side of the car. However by moving it forward to the rear forks it was positioned perfectly. Since I only need to haul one bike I used the mount for the second bike moving it right up to the first bike mount so both sides of the fork sat in a mount and could be strapped down. ... show more

  • Works like a charm
Size: 2 Bike Rack
So, I was skeptical as it seemed like it was a little crude looking in the photos without the curvy formed steel you see in other designs. However this is both a well thought out and sturdy addition to the bicycling tool kit. It is designed in a way that they mean you to put it on your vehicle with a bolt, I use a lockable removable hitch pin and it's easy enough to put on and take off I don't think I'd ever just bolt it on. Cycles load easily, just a great KISS design. ... show more

  • Nice Carrier for the Money - With ONE Tweak!
Size: 2 Bike Rack
I'm really enjoying this bike rack. Solid construction (with one exception) and the ability to leave the rack on and still use the hatch on the back of the Jeep is awesome. Another great feature is the clamp that stabilizes the rack on the hitch and (for me) eliminates any rattling or movement. I'm giving the "sturdiness" rating a 4 out of 5 for the following reason... As others have written, the ONE issue I had were the nylon cradles and the bolts securing them to the rack. I couldn't get them tight enough and they tended to slip and move around. I took one to my local hardware store and showed them the bolt. They provided longer bolts along with WASHERS that allowed me to really tighten down the cradles - problem solved for a couple bucks. Because this rack doesn't have the platform for the wheels to sit in, do yourself a favor and by some of the straps you'll find here on Amazon. Use one to go around the frame of the bike and the main post, and another to secure the front wheel to the frame of the bike so it doesn't move around! Easy Peazy. One more thing, while the rack does come with "wrenches" to tighten the bolts, they are the very thin, flat kind you'd find with IKEA furniture = ) I would HIGHLY recommend buying some socket wrenches (don't need anything fancy - try Harbor Freight Tools if there's one around you). Keep the two(?) socket sizes you will need in your car in case you need to tighten/remove while on the go. It will make your life easier for very little money! All in all, a nice rack for the price! ... show more
