  • Very solid, easy to use eBike Rack
Style: VOLT RV
It's hard to find eBike racks out there that are strong enough and rated to safely hold two, heavy eBikes, but this one is a great rack. We've been hauling our two fatty eBike mountain bikes around and it does a great job. It's very solidly built, easy to use, fits into our trailer hitch, is easy/intuitive to use and comes with all the straps etc. to secure your valuable bikes. The arms are padded so they can be snugged firmly onto your bike w/o scratching it and together with the wheel straps and extra generic strap they provide your bikes are never going to rattle loose or fall off. It's designed with removable pins so you can fold it up while its on the hitch to reduce it's footprint, and to fold it down (when bikes are off) so you can get into the back tailgate. Perfect rack in all those regards. The only minor marks I can deduct is the locks. Good news is the rack has two sets: each bike arm is lockable to deter people from swiping the bikes off your rack and then there is another lock to deter someone from steeling the rack off your hitch. Given the cost of the rack and bikes, I do worry about both. The locks are locks... but if someone really wants to, and has time, they are not that beefy. It will stop a common thief / theft of opportunity but if someone really wants your stuff and has tools they won't stop a determined, equipped thief. Also, one of the arm locks is finicky and hard to lock when under the load of being snugged onto the bike. Again, so happy there are locks - just don't live in the illusion you are buying Fort Knox. Overall, great rack, very strong, practical and we're glad to own it. ... show more

  • Great heavy-duty rack that holds my two e-bikes securely
Style: VOLT lift
Pricey, but a well designed, manufactured and packaged. Beefy, with tight-fitting parts-no slop and no wobble. Ramp makes it easy to load/unload my two large 70 lb e-bikes. Only issue (other than price) is weight. At 80+ lbs you won't want to remove it once installed. Also, if you do remove it from your 2 inch receiver, the holes in the optional dolly are drilled such that when wheeling it about, the rails/ramps are horizontal to the ground...so it won't fit through a doorway. (Hyperax: if a second set of holes were drilled in the dolly perpendicular to those there, the rack could be attached to the dolly so that the rails would be vertical). One last comment: the spacing between the inside rail and receiver (i.e. the car/van) is short (16") requiring twisting the handlebars vis-a-vis the front bike wheel so it doesn't bump/break rear window. ... show more

  • Great product
Style: 2023 VOLT RV
This rack seems to be what they advertised. It's very strong and safe. The locking brackets hold my bikes down but I always put an extra strap just to be sure. The only thing I see is the post that has the lock down brackets seems loose. I'm thinking of putting either washers or shims at the joint to see it that takes away some of the slop. I realize that the post needs to be somewhat loose so it will fold down, so we'll check it out. One thing to watch out for is when I use the lock to lock the rack to my truck you have to make sure the keyway is facing out. On my 2022 Laramie there is not enough space to turn the locking unit a full 360 degrees. Other than that, this rack has worked very good for me. I feel very confident having this rack on the back of my 5th wheeled trailer with my EBikes. ... show more

  • Rugged, secure, well built!
Style: VOLT RV
This is for the 2022 version, which I purchased as it saved $240 over the 2023 version ($359 vs $599). It arrived by US Mail in two days. It was well packed and in perfect condition. It included all tools required, as well as two keys that lock both the two cross bar locks as well as the pin lock that adds some level of protection from someone removing the entire rack from your RV or truck. We just purchased two e-bikes (52lbs each) and we were concerned about our 20 year old hanger based bike rack not being able to withstand the weight (plus we didn't want our new expensive bikes hanging by their cross bar). I have heard of this manufacturer, but I purchased it based on reviews and it was one of the very few that are RV rated and we are using it with a camper trailer. It took me about 20 minutes to put together. The instructions were pretty much only pictures, but they were very clear and in full color. I do think it would have been helpful to stress that the four wheel wells need to be offset, as I did not see that point (it was noted in text on the very last page, where it shows you how to mount the bike to the rack) in the pictures only version. It took me only about 10 minutes to correct the wheel holders but it was annoying. The unit is heavily built and is very solid, folds up for storage, and the two bike cross rail hooks are very well padded with soft rubber. The unit folds up for storage and to allow mounting of the bikes. The center upright is held in place with a slip pin, and you simply pull it out to fold the bar downward so that you can easily mount the bike on the backside. I would recommend a locking pin to replace the one provided by the seller on this hinged movement, but that is probably only required if you have a single bike on it (because if you only have a single bike, on the backside of the rack, you could fold down the center bar, even with the crossbar hook locked, and probably get the bike loose from the rack...haven't tested it, but I imagine you could.) Recommendations: It should have a hole of some kind as part of the main 2" mount to allow for a 5/8" security cable to run through like my old rack had. Now I have to figure out now how to secure a cable around my two bikes on this rack to reduce theft risk. ... show more
