I purchased for a 75ga tank wanting a small bit of water movement. However the unit is quite noise and has a vibration that can be felt in the glass on the aquarium, I like this brand however this product was a let down **EDIT** Unit was replaced and the new unit is quiet and almost no vibration can be felt. This one also seems to have increased flow. Hygger makes quality stuff we have stuff from lights to cleaning and all have been awesome

The man who shows his wave maker running out of the water should Mostly be ignored. He said he bought four of them that Rattle the same way. The instructions SAY not to run them dry, or you cause damage. My 792 gph with switch is very quiet. It is the cheapest unit with magnet mounting. (If it dies, I will epoxy the magnets on to another, because the other suction cup mounts usually fail.)

I bought the 792gph version for a 40 gallon tank that’s 3’ long. I had plans to buy two of these to create opposing current in my saltwater tank but I got one to try it out first. It comes highly rated and claims to have 792gph output. Do NOT believe it!!!! Seriously. Don’t believe it. This pump maybe puts out 250gph, maybe, and that is being generous. I have a 160gph hang on back power filter setting right next to it and the output from that is similar to this powerhead. It appears to be operating correctly and I have tried all of the “speeds” which don’t do much of anything other than poorly change the flow from stream to fan. The powerhead is not running backwards and it is not making any strange noises. There is an audible hum when it is turned on. Anyway I’m sending it back. It is not even powerful enough to stir saltwater up in my bucket for water changes so it is useless to me.

The media could not be loaded. Perfect for my 26 Gallon planted tank to circulate water when CO2 injection is running. Great magnetic mount. Only issue is that it comes set in reverse with no clear instructions how to switch it. So it was sucking water in and shooting out the sides. There is a small white clip on the front that you need to slide towards the back to reverse the action. Overall an excellent wave maker that is small enough to not be an eye sore.

Very other time we turn it on it starts with a loud clicking noise. Turn it off and back on and the noise is gone. Not as quiet as larger more expensive power heads but very effective at pushing water around our reef tank.

Pretty weak. I thought based on the flow advertised that it would be too much for my jbj 28. It barely moves any water. This might be suitable for a jbj 12. . Otherwise you'd need 2 of them. But not worth using 2 of these to compensate. Which I would've went another route.

I use this to mix batches of saltwater. Was a bit noisy from day one and hesitant to start. Now, 6 weeks later, you need to coax the impeller to move with a screwdriver numerous times or it’ll just sit there immobile and useless. Once you do get it going, it does work but isn’t the quietest thing on earth. I guess I was expecting too much for the price. Not at all happy that its usefulness becomes questionable after the return window closed. Guess I’ll ride this thing for whatever ROI I can get on it, after which I’ll buy one from another brand. Classic case of you get what you pay for.
