I use this wave maker in my IM Nuvo Fusion 15 that I have set up for LPS and soft corals. Absolutely quiet. Solid magnetic mount. Easy to disassemble and clean. I don’t have to upgrade the standard IM 130 GPH return pump with the addition of this wave maker. I have found that an intensity setting of 1 or 2 (out of 4 max) provides plenty of flow and there is room to increase it for SPS corals if I need to. I am not a believer in changing flow patterns throughout the day and night but the controller gives you plenty of options if you want to do that.

I do not desire the fanciest and most expensive products for my salt water aquarium. i am glad there are quality products at more reasonable points as I am on a budget. I find that this Hygger wave maker is great value at this price point and works well in my 28.5 gallon tank. The compact size is perfect. Operation is quiet and I really only hear it when the pump in my sump is off for maintenance. Great features with the scheduling functionality. Considering its size do not expect to surf these waves but if you are looking to add flow to the tank it is perfect. I also really appreciate Hygger including a lot of extras to offer with various installation options and based of this purchase would consider other products from the brand.

This little wavemaker is almost perfect. Although, I’m worried about it’s longevity. I purchased a couple of these back in June and already one of them is troubled with issues. Sometimes it runs perfectly and suddenly it will stop working. I usually just unplug it and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. Once energized, it works like new again until I change its settings. I normally only turn it off using the presets for feeding and that doesn’t seem to trigger the problem of it shutting down. However, if I try and changes the wave function, that’s when the troubles begin. It took a while for me to figure it out but once I started unplugging it and basically resetting it has become only a minor nuisance. I wish I had read through all the reviews but I was in a hurry and now I’m stuck with these two. I’m sure that the other one will start to act up soon. This would be a near perfect wavemaker if it didn’t glitch! I’m going to try and keep it going for as long as possible. I will edit if and when it bites the dust. Awesome when it’s running!!

When I first got this wavemaker, I was afraid it would be too strong for my 5 gallon. However, after some adjustments with the controller, it made just the right wave moments I needed. I would recommend this to people with a 5 gallon reef and larger. Any tank smaller might be over powered by this, even at its lowest level. Pro: quiet, offers different wave patterns, has a day/night cycle(you can program different wave motions ans strength threwout the day,) has a feed button which stops the flow for 10 minutes Con: it was a bit difficult to program at first (watch youtube videos! This will teach you more than the instructions will!) Overall, I would definitely recommend wavemarker and am planning to buy another one for my larger reed tank.

This is a final review ( my previous one was positive) after owning three of these mini wave makers for my nano reef. This last unit lasted only two months and had the same exact problem as the previous two. I get an Error 7 every few days and the unit stops working. I spin the impeller a few times (it’s very clean like the rest of my equipment, as I am an experienced and successful mini reef keeper) and it restarts, until it doesn’t, and I have to throw the whole unit way. (Never had a problem with the controller, only the poorly built impeller). I wasted enough money on this product. I’ll buy a different brand as I do need a wave maker in order to maintain a healthy reef. Should have listened to previous unsatisfied owners but I wanted to try it again, as it is in fact the perfect size and flow rate for a 25 gallon reef tank. Oh well…

If you get an error when you plug in the controller do this. 1. Unplug everything 2. Plug in the controller first 3. Plug in the wave maker to the controller 4. Try plugging it in loosely and waiting for the error to go away (it takes a minute) The pump is silent and there’s a lot of ways to program it. It’s perfect for a nano tank and generates a ton of flow

Great little pump. Moves a ton of water and only takes up a little bit of space. Very quiet which is nice. I have this in a 50L and love it! Highly recommended. The only thing I do not like about the pump is the programming. I can appreciate that its so customizable but its overly complicated and you need a decoder ring in the manual to figure out which digit offset means what setting.

I have 3 of these. Just love the small and good looking form factor. I have 2 in a 30g long (36x12x18") and one in a biocube 14, both mix reef. The one in the biocube is turned so the way down and the two in the 30g are turned all the way up. Both tanks also have return pumps that add flow. The programming sounds/seem complicated at 1rst but it's actually pretty simple. All 3 have been very reliable. I clean then maybe once a month with a tooth brush. The pump mounting to the inside magnet could be better but for $69 it's hardly anything to complain about.
