  • Mighty little pump that moves a ton of water!
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
Great little pump. Moves a ton of water and only takes up a little bit of space. Very quiet which is nice. I have this in a 50L and love it! Highly recommended. The only thing I do not like about the pump is the programming. I can appreciate that its so customizable but its overly complicated and you need a decoder ring in the manual to figure out which digit offset means what setting. ... show more

  • Good for my 28.5 gallon tank and nice features
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
I do not desire the fanciest and most expensive products for my salt water aquarium. i am glad there are quality products at more reasonable points as I am on a budget. I find that this Hygger wave maker is great value at this price point and works well in my 28.5 gallon tank. The compact size is perfect. Operation is quiet and I really only hear it when the pump in my sump is off for maintenance. Great features with the scheduling functionality. Considering its size do not expect to surf these waves but if you are looking to add flow to the tank it is perfect. I also really appreciate Hygger including a lot of extras to offer with various installation options and based of this purchase would consider other products from the brand. ... show more

  • Terrible
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
This is a final review ( my previous one was positive) after owning three of these mini wave makers for my nano reef. This last unit lasted only two months and had the same exact problem as the previous two. I get an Error 7 every few days and the unit stops working. I spin the impeller a few times (it’s very clean like the rest of my equipment, as I am an experienced and successful mini reef keeper) and it restarts, until it doesn’t, and I have to throw the whole unit way. (Never had a problem with the controller, only the poorly built impeller). I wasted enough money on this product. I’ll buy a different brand as I do need a wave maker in order to maintain a healthy reef. Should have listened to previous unsatisfied owners but I wanted to try it again, as it is in fact the perfect size and flow rate for a 25 gallon reef tank. Oh well… ... show more

  • Pretty good.
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
Great pump. Only downside is the controls! They are difficult to understand. The flow is good and the suction of the magnet is good. Overall a good buy.

  • Great for my 5 Gallon Pico Tank
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
When I first got this wavemaker, I was afraid it would be too strong for my 5 gallon. However, after some adjustments with the controller, it made just the right wave moments I needed. I would recommend this to people with a 5 gallon reef and larger. Any tank smaller might be over powered by this, even at its lowest level. Pro: quiet, offers different wave patterns, has a day/night cycle(you can program different wave motions ans strength threwout the day,) has a feed button which stops the flow for 10 minutes Con: it was a bit difficult to program at first (watch youtube videos! This will teach you more than the instructions will!) Overall, I would definitely recommend wavemarker and am planning to buy another one for my larger reed tank. ... show more

  • Powerful Wavemaker
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
This little wavemaker is power and quiet. The output is adjustable and fairly straight forward to adjust once you read the instructions carefully. Speaking on power the first tank I had it on was a ten gallon reef tank and it sucked up and killed a small clown fish. I made sure to bring the power down to around 40% then. I've been using it for about 10 months now and its currently on a 20 gallon and still going strong. Cleaning is simple and take out and clean like every 3 months. The way this pushes water I believe this could work up to a 55 gallon tank. Time will tell on longevity but I've heard of other pumps dying at 6 months so there's that. My only gripe is I can't turn the display off on the controller, the blue lights are always on so you may want to consider if that would be too annoying. ... show more

  • Absolutely Fantastic
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
I have no idea how long this Hygger wavemaker will last, but the design, the flow rate, the wave pattern, and the dimensions are just unbelievable, a perfect match for a nano reef. I do run a Fluval EVO 13.5, and what I've seen so far on Youtube, no matter how expensive or sophisticated wavemaker they have, all look bad in a nano tank, because of the size. I want a display to show the reef, not a display full of wavemakers bigger than the rocks in the tank. Efficiency? 150% for a nano tank. If properly placed in the tank, you can see the sand particles flowing at the bottom round and round, without clouding the water. Anyways finally, a wavemaker for the nano tank hobbyist who wants to keep the natural beauty of his tank without displaying a windmill inside his nano tank. Easy to program, worth the money, if it breaks tomorrow, I'll buy it again and again, unless the competition comes up with something similar or smaller for a nano reef tank. I can not display the look of this marvel in my tank. For some unknown reason, Amazon will not let me upload my pic. ... show more

  • Flaky controller
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
Works pretty good, so far.... programming is a bit fiddly, and a bit limited but it will give a decent amount of variable flow.... The main downfall of this, is the controller, will flicker in and out with just the slightest of movements, losing whatever you had programmed into it... I had to mount the controller in its final position in order to program it successfully. If I will have to move the controller for any reason it will cut out and lose my programming. I have two of these, and they both do it, so it is not an isolated case. If you have it too close to the sandbed, it may also suck up some grains of sand which will trigger an error, but it is pretty easy to clear, and the remedy is to move it away, or adjust the flow of the pump so it isnt creating a sandstorm. ... show more
