Perfect for my 24 gallon reef. Super quiet! Only problem is that the instructions in the manual are pretty bad and written by someone who obviously doesn’t speak proper English. Luckily Utube helped with that. Will see how long it lasts as I just installed it.

I have had mine for several months, and it's no sound, and multiple settings are great. As a college graduate, this is a great affordable product because I am huge in the aquarist hobby, and finding a product such as this helps me be in the pursuit. The instructions are confusing to follow, and a lot has to be done by assuming what it tells you. More details have to be added for sure. ... show more

    • Nice Wavemaker
Size: 1600GPH (for 3-25 Gal Tank)
This little wavemaker is almost perfect. Although, I’m worried about it’s longevity. I purchased a couple of these back in June and already one of them is troubled with issues. Sometimes it runs perfectly and suddenly it will stop working. I usually just unplug it and wait a few minutes before plugging it back in. Once energized, it works like new again until I change its settings. I normally only turn it off using the presets for feeding and that doesn’t seem to trigger the problem of it shutting down. However, if I try and changes the wave function, that’s when the troubles begin. It took a while for me to figure it out but once I started unplugging it and basically resetting it has become only a minor nuisance. I wish I had read through all the reviews but I was in a hurry and now I’m stuck with these two. I’m sure that the other one will start to act up soon. This would be a near perfect wavemaker if it didn’t glitch! I’m going to try and keep it going for as long as possible. I will edit if and when it bites the dust.     • Nice super small wave pump

This pump is incredibly small. It puts out a decent amount of flow considering though. The unit feels pretty high quality with nice quality plastic components and even a ceramic impeller shaft. The control unit takes some getting used to - but once you figure it out it's simple enough to program and has lots of customizability. Basically it breaks the day up into 5 pieces and you can program each time slot with a unique selection of 4 power modes and 4 wave patterns. The things I don't like are it gets clogged pretty easily, and when it gets clogged it lacks the power to push through it. Last night it randomly stopped and there was some algae that was stuck in it. The good news is that it's very easy to take out and clean. Well mostly easy. The little rubber feets have a tendency to pop out. I know I'm going to lose some of those while cleaning though. They include a spare set but what about when those are gone? ... show more

This little wavemaker is power and quiet. The output is adjustable and fairly straight forward to adjust once you read the instructions carefully. Speaking on power the first tank I had it on was a ten gallon reef tank and it sucked up and killed a small clown fish. I made sure to bring the power down to around 40% then. I've been using it for about 10 months now and its currently on a 20 gallon and still going strong. Cleaning is simple and take out and clean like every 3 months. The way this pushes water I believe this could work up to a 55 gallon tank. Time will tell on longevity but I've heard of other pumps dying at 6 months so there's that. My only gripe is I can't turn the display off on the controller, the blue lights are always on so you may want to consider if that would be too annoying. ... show more

The pump is compact and silent to the ear, and it appears that the rate of water movement and the wave action descriptions are accurate. The controller keeps accurate time. You have to assemble the submersible pump by lining up the rubber poles with the holes, which are not evenly spaced. Once that is done, you can place the pump wherever you want, as long as it is submerged, and the external magnet that holds it in place is on the ***outside*** of the aquarium. I had to read and re-read the instructions to set up and adjust the controller, but once I had it set, it was not difficult to understand. ***You have to set the clock to military time if you are setting it after noon. Also note that "sunset" begins at 2:30 pm (14:30).*** I adjusted the clock to coordinate it with my tank's daily photoperiod. ... show more
