When the bumper on my elite controller broke I thought that was the end of its life, so I went ahead and bought a Series 2. But before I pitched the old one, I figured I would check out Amazon for a possible solution and stumbled upon this product. Installation wasn't the easiest but it wasn't bad either - but this is moreso due to the controller's design and not this product. It's great that they included 2 of these in a single package as they could have likely sold these in singles and charged the same price for them - so having one on backup (or an extra just in case you somehow break one trying to replace the existing one) is just more peace of mind. After all was said and done, I was extremely pleased of the fact I had absolutely no idea it was not the original. It matched the color scheme of the original it works flawlessly.

Absolutely fantastic not only do they give you all the tools to give you not one set of brand new bumpers they give you two sets so just in case one breaks while you’re installing it or if it ever breaks again so the price tag is fantastic it was an easy install and I spent $20 to fix my very expensive $180 elite controller instead of buying a new one for another 200 anybody who says otherwise didn’t do the installation right fantastic product and I probably will buy again if they break with normal wear and tear of gaming!

the screw drivers are great, the actual bumpers are great. the triangle thing is great. HOWEVER the one long piece that is meant to help pry the back left and right back piece of the controller was already bending and nearly broke while me removing the back to gain access to the screws. Maybe i did it wrong i am not sure but after i researched how exactly to take the controller apart the ones i saw in videos were much sturdier. only reason it aint a 5/5 is because of that so be aware! the screws and everything else are GREAT!!! might start modding my controllers with different stuff now since i have a kit! :D

So I thought I build computers this can't be too challenging...…. well I screwed almost everything up since I watched a bad youtube video where I thought the guy was going to have it working and fixed in the end however he was never able to lol. So since I went by that original video I literally screwed almost everything up and even had to install the ribbon on the back of the controller that got undone and I knocked off the sync button :(. However after spending about an hour and a half putting everything back together I was able to get it working 100%. The rb and lb feel much better then when I first received the controller and I believe they'll last for at least a year in the current condition if not longer. I highly recommend this however just be aware that it might not be very easy.

Just like many people who use my controllers on a regular basis the bumpers are always the first thing to break. Most kits are not worth your time or effort. Even after you finally get them installed they just feel wrong and then break soon after installing. You can tell right out of the box these are somewhat harder and thicker than other products being sold. These can be a little frustrating to install, especially since you have to be careful not to damage or bend them while installing them. As the bumpers will never work correctly if you do. Having that said, I can already tell a difference having these installed on the controller. I have only had it one a few weeks now, but it feels great and can tell it is going to last over other products. Additionally, it looks pretty awesome on my controller as well.

I was considering getting the XBox Elite controller Series 2 and decided to do some online research to see if it was worth upgrading from the Series 1 controller I already had. Turns out, both use the crappy second-gen regular controller bumper design that everyone is complaining about, so I stuck with my Series 1. Sure enough, just two weeks later, my own right bumper broke (after using the controller for only three months). So I found myself once again doing online research, this time to see if a broken bumper could be replaced/repaired, sparing me the expense of a brand-new controller. Came across this kit, which was the only one that had bumpers that appeared to match mine in colour, so I ordered it. Here's a quick synopsis: Pros: 1) The colour matches the original Elite bumpers perfectly 2) If you can get the replacement piece to fit, it works exactly the same as the original bumpers Cons: 1) The housing unit cannot be separated from the bumpers (the housing unit is the rectangular piece with the big, round hole for the XBox button). Why does this matter? See 2). 2) Despite the claims in the second vendor photo ("PRECISION ENGINEERED...PERFECT FIT), the housing unit is missing the center tab that helps position the unit as a whole and keeps it stabilised (see my own photo for where this tab would be on an original XBox controller bumper unit (the empty red square)). I wanted to use the housing piece from my Elite controller and fit it with the bumpers from this kit, but the bumpers could not be separated from the housing unit...ALSO despite another vendor claim (that "the middle piece can be take [sic] apart easily"). 3) Again, despite claims of "precision engineering" and a "perfect fit", the first bumper unit I tried would not go in/on. I watched several different Youtube videos demonstrating the process, both before and during my attempt to attach this unit, but it would not go on. Then, I remembered at least one of the reviews (I don't remember if it was for this particular unit) saying that the pieces they received were not all identical, so I tried the second unit that came with this product, and had it in and working in five seconds. 4) Comes with pieces you don't need to replace the bumper unit (namely, the T6 screwdriver), which probably drives up the price slightly. Why this kit includes a completely unnecessary tool, I have no idea. So, while I'm happy I got my Elite controller working again, this new bumper unit will probably break soonish (no fault of this kit, but of the original controller design they are matching), and I'll have to order a whole new kit, since this one does not appear to allow me to use a new bumper unit in the existing housing unit, and the second assembly piece that came with it is unusable. If I could use both assembly units and/or use my old housing unit, I would have given this at least one more star.
