Got this to replace the return pump in an Oceanic BioCube 29. Fits in the chamber nicely. Performs as advertised. 5/8 ID hose fits snugly /hand-tight on the 5/8 inch hose barb adapter, and the return adapter from my tank can be shoved inside of the hose with a little work. Flow wise, I probably should have gotten the next size up, but that one would have not fit into the chamber fully, but since it pulls water from the bottom of the pump, it would probably still work out. Might try that one in my other biocube.

Amazing return pump for my sump. Had an issue and reached out to their support who was very quick with getting back as well as giving me instructions to solve the issue. Nothing leaks, plug and play, and the remote is amazing for controlling the speed of the water pumping.

My biggest gripe with DC pumps is how they all need two cables for connection instead of doing something 'in-line'. The footprint is great and it is SUPER quiet. I use mine as the return in a Red Sea Max E-170. I don't have a flow meter; however, the amount of water turbulence it creates is much less than the Syncra 3.5 that I had before that died from a power surge at the 5 year mark. So, even though its in the tank it still has to pump up about a 18" so it loses pressure quickly IMO. I was going to return it but the other options are more expensive.

At the moment I have this for water changes. I would guess from the tub my fish are in due to a leaking tank to the bathroom is 30-37 feet about. Now as far as the head height rating which is not bad at all. It is pushing up a few about 2 feet then across the floor back up about 2 feet into the tub. Have not run any calculations or anything, but as small as this pump is. I am quite impressed given its form factor. I usually run Jebao style pumps of the normal form factor which have proven to be very strong. Due to the size of this pump might go into my A.R.S.S. 2.0 modification. Maybe to pump out on into the lower box I am building or pump from the lower box up. Still need to test that, but if you need a good pump in the tank this is a go for me. I tested the various modes and the wave maker settings were solid. It has me rethinking my internal tank set up for lower water movement. I did not want a bunch of pumps, but these are small enough that you would not really notice them. Might have wire mess below though. To be clear I do not have a good way to test the flow rate. Lots of experience using cheap pumps to more stout pumps. One thing I ding Jebao for is how they secure the water guide to the motor. 3 to 4 small plastic tabs that can break really easily. They do not offer any support to replace said housing so you buy a new one. So this particular design is a cylinder that secures the output via a screw ring. Simple and elegant, any failures would be a burn out of the motor or it is getting blocked up.
