I’ve gone through dozens of hoses, and they were all garbage, especially with the very high-pressure outlet at the front of my house. This hose is absolutely perfect. Whereas other hoses, thick enough to withstand the water pressure at my house, were so thick and heavy that they could not be coiled up, this one winds effortlessly in the hose box, and it even unwinds without dragging the box all over the patio. I have a couple of South African Mastiffs who love the hose and when they play, it’s rough. Other hoses have punctured quickly and met the trash can fate within minutes. Not this hose. I've had very good luck with these hoses. This one was purchased to replace the last old style hose in my inventory. This is a very well made hose. I have four of them now and haven't encountered a problem with any of them. The feature that I like the most is the steel core. With soft or shrinking hoses, you can't use them on a reel without pulling the whole length off first. With the support of the steel core on the Hydrosteel hose, this is not necessary because the steel prevents the hose from collapsing on the reel.

Seemed like a high quality hose for replacement on a hose reel I had also purchased (Liberty 709), but the male receiver tube welded onto the rotating drum was a bit too close to the drum body, and I was unable to square up the threads and screw it together because the hard plastic handle on the female end of the hose was too long. Wanted to keep the hose reel, and I also didn't want to bend it myself for fear of creating an unintentional leak on the weld point. Instead, I opted to return this hose and bought another brand that had shorter stress protection on the female end that allowed me to screw it onto the hose reel.
