Using Chlorine in the hottub/pool I thought I would give this a try to see if it behaved differently or would make a good alternative. I typically use a chlorine shock so thought I'd give this a try. Not sure how well it works as I can only go by visual observations ; I rarely measure levels in my pool. It seemed to work. I'm now using this to control an algae outbreak in the pool. Not sure I would use it over standard shock.

This chlorine-free oxidizer is a great option when you need to shock your spa but don't want to increase chlorine levels too much. However, I don't use it very often because my family's usage pattern requires me to increase chlorine levels to keep them stable regularly. I only use this oxidizer when we have repeated days of heavy tub usage, which is rare. Overall, I have no complaints, and it's a good addition to the spa chemical cabinet to have on hand when needed.

Oxidizer Non-Chlorine Shock for Hot Tubs and Spas (5 lbs) I thought I would use this to give the chlorine shock a break. It seems to work well but I am just addicted to the chlorine. This is a great product for in between chlorine treatments when you intend to have children using the hot tub or pool. The price is a bit high for me so I will stick with what I know.

Since I use my hot tub almost every day, I need plenty of shock. This non-chlorine shock is just what I need, and I got the 5lb bucket, which is more economical for me than the 1.5 lb. It is not the cheapest per lb than some of the other non-chlorine shock products out there, but I think it is still a good value. Whether you use your hot tub often, or every so often, this is the non-chlorine shock to use.

The best part about this oxidizer is the powder is very fine and dissolves almost as soon as it hits the water. I use this for a spa and has worked well and has not caused any issue with water clarity and has had minimal impact on PH. As a non chlorine oxidizer I only use this 1-2 times a week as a subsidizer to using chlorine and chlorine based shock.

I add this non-chlorine shock after each use of our hot tub. An oxidizer is not a replacement for chlorine or bromine. Adding an oxidizer regularly to your hot tub helps to control chloramines building up in the water (produced by chlorine sanitizing the water). Excessive chloramines can cause cloudy water and that strong chlorine smell. HTS Turbo Oxidizer is reasonably priced (compared to most of the popular brand names) and comes in a 5 pound pale that should last you several months. The only issue I had with the product was getting the lid off initially. I couldn’t remove the lid with just my hands. I had to use a large pair of channel locks to break the seal loose. Could be I just received a pale with a defective lid.
