  • Awesome Printer!
Style: Printer
This small printer is very impressive. I travel alot for our business and this makes it so easy to pack up and take. It is truly the BEST printer in terms of functionality that I have ever owned. If you just need something to print reasonably and fairly quickly this is your printer!

  • 5/5 stars from day one until now four months later
Style: Printer
I bought this almost a month ago. I am very busy and only today did I get a chance to test it out. I was very surprised at how well this printer worked. -Set up was quick and easy. The printer was able to connect to my wifi without any issue. -I was able to print from my MacBook Pro 2019 and MacBook 12'' 2015 almost instantly. I did not have to install anything. I just went to select a printer and this printer showed up and then I was able to print anything. I was also easily able to print from my iPhone 11 pro max and iPhone XS max instantly without installing anything. -I was surprised at how FAST a page prints - it takes about ~3 seconds/page. -The ink quality on the paper is great. -After inserting the rechargeable battery and leaving it charging for 10mins I was already able to print without the charging cable. -I was very happy at how small and lightweight it is and I love the fact that it does not have to be plugged in to any wire to work. I have only used this printer for one day so I CANNOT write about the longevity of this printer, nor about the actual output of the 62XL black ink cartridge I bought. however, I WILL update this review if anything wrong goes on w/ this printer in the long run. I have owned many printers before and they all eventually die. If this one can last me at least three years, then I will be satisfied. Overall, based on iNITIAL impressions and INITIAL use of one day, I am very happy and satisfied w/ this printer and give it 5/5 stars. Update April 2020: printer still works great. I’ve had so many printers and I had lost faith since all of them failed eventually. I hope this one lasts me awhile. Still 5/5 printer. ... show more

  • HP printers are great and this is a great portable version!
Style: Printer
I was looking for a portable printer that I knew I could rely on - this is great! The ink comes in two cartridges so we don't throw out unused ink when we need to replace just the black or just the color. The paper handling is fine, the unit is compact and not too heavy. Wireless setup was easy, and I love that it has its own mini-network for printing wirelessly when not on a local wi-fi network. The previous HP Portable printer I used to own needed an extra cost dongle to be purchased to accomplish that -- now it's included in the price which is much less than the previous version cost! The screen is easy to read, and the printer is easy to operate and it comes with the battery which doesn't need very long to reach a full charge. I have not put this through its paces yet to know how much battery life there really is under a heavy workload, but I do know that it's possible to use an external battery pack (of which I have several that travel with me) to power the printer if the internal battery runs out of juice. ... show more

  • Great Printer - setup requires patience
Style: Printer
This should have been a 5-star review. I docked one star for setup being difficult. Setup was not intuitive and instructions were lacking. I wanted the printer to do two things. 1) Print directly from my android phone and my laptop computer when there is no wifi network present. 2) Print from my laptop using a USB printer cable. I am not a technical person, but was eventually able to stumble my way through and get the printer to work with the 2 scenarios mentioned above. The most important thing I learned was that when using the HP Direct mode, it takes longer for the connection to complete (as opposed to using Wifi through a router.) Do your clicking and then wait a little bit. If you want to use this printer on a network, it is as easy to install as any other printer on the network, but it is expensive to use so you probably want to use a more efficient desktop printer for long documents. Once I finally got it to print directly from my phone and laptop I was pleased with the printer. Print quality was very good. It is capable of 1200 dpi, but printing is especially slow at that resolution. Default is 600 dpi and it prints text at that resolution quickly. I have not tried glossy photo paper to see how it does with pictures. I did print a minimal margin photo on office paper and it looked as good as it can. Printing combination of text and graphics slows the printer down a little bit. I was able to print from my laptop or phone approximately 25 feet away from the printer using the HP direct mode. The printer works well on battery. I did not notice a difference in speed while printing text, but it does print photos slower when running off of battery. Goggling the printer life on battery, AI says it will print 600 pages. I doubt that. In an HP forum someone said it will print 225 pages. I read somewhere, but don’t remember where, that it will only print 60 pages. Without actually printing until the battery runs out, I won’t know how long the battery will last. 60 pages will be sufficient for my use. The size was not a surprise since it is in the description. It is larger than I would like, but it fits in my briefcase. The power supply is inside the printer, so the only thing you need is the power cable. There is no tray for printed paper. To avoid printed paper falling to the floor, I set the printer on a flat surface and put a book about 12 inches away from the front of the printer. I set up the printer to print in reverse so that pages are in order. I would give the printer itself 5 stars hands down, but the poor installation instructions demand it get only 4 stars. ... show more

I've had this for awhile now. Not one problem to report. Print quality is great. Easy to set up and troubleshoot if anything would happen.

  • Great Hp Product Great Hp Product
Style: Printer
Had this printer before, dropped too many times off the seat of my vehicle and the lid/paper rest broke off. Bought the 250 Officejet but only 18 months the screen failed. This printer was supposed to be used/heavy cosmetic imperfections. $138.00 Got the printer it was in a plain box (not the retail packaging). Took it out came with two ink cartridges (black and color) power cord 110v and the battery. Battery was totally dead. Took the printer out of the plastic bag. It looks brand new!!!! No damages at all, not even a fingerprint! Inserted the battery and plug in the power cord to outlet. Powered it up no problems. Btw a set of ink cartridges was already in the machine (the other ones are still in there packages). Link to my phone/WiFi no problems at all. Link the printer to my home WiFi and needed the updates and loaded up fine. Did a test print and printed great!! Well here is the real shocker!! Printed out a information page of the printer and looked at how many copies were printed before I did any prints. 10! That’s it only 10 prints came out of this machine when I got it!! It’s new!! So I don’t know the problems were before and this is not supposed to be a refurbished as it wasn’t sold that way. VERY IMPRESSED!! Thanks a lot Amazon for a great purchase. Hope this will last me a while as the other Hp 200 lasted 2.5yrs before I sold it. And the guy is still using it. Btw this sits in my vehicle year round in my van in Arizona!! So these printers and the ink hold up well. Don’t be afraid to buy one of these! Hope this makes up your mind! ... show more

  • Expensive waste
Style: Printer
Seemed awesome when I got it. It's small, printed beautiful images, and I could print from my phone. But the positives ended there. The first frustration is it shuts off after about 15 minutes. You have to turn it back on every time you print if it's idle any longer, which means you can print from a distance. Then..the error codes. The help links are useless, there is no phone number, and their directions are "turn it off and turn it back on".. thanks..not. thankfully youtube had some helpful videos. But the error code became more frequent and the videos became useless. I bought this October 18th, 2023. It started giving errors in December. Last week I finally bought a new one. The new one is a Brother. Icqn print from my phone, I never have to turn it on to print. It prints double sided (where this HP is not). It's WWAAAYY better than the HP, and got it for like $80. ... show more

  • Don’t know too much about printers in the industry by comparison but...
Style: Printer
I got this one on a whim, seemed nice for a small home that doesn’t print much. Pros: Size: really nice and can be put pretty much in most areas. For real specs, just see the product description Wireless: my last printer but had to get rid of it because it was too large was an HP Photosmart (used to print my own photos). So seeing a printer work wirelessly with the home network was really cool, never experienced a drop, so overall solid performer. Print speed: Compared to my old HP (which took forever because it would print quite high quality), this thing is a rocket, great for printing out a bunch of copies quick, lower the setting down to conserve some ink, and this thing flies even faster. Untethered Power: battery powered for some portability into certain rooms in case you need to move it around or take it with you somewhere for an event for a few hours or a day maybe. Never really tested the limits, but seems fine for light work until you find an outlet again. Misc: nothing really to be disappointed with as a casual/light user who is mainly concerned with printing up documents from time to time. Cons: Software suite: Works as should, but they really could stand to hire a form Apple UI/UX designer and just make everything more cleaner (honestly the whole company and al their products could use a freshening up) ... show more
