I purchased this product a few years ago. I've owned other large format printers and as a graphic designer you sometime need to do a large format print out for proofing and other things. The one thing you alway should remember with a large format printer is that you will have consumables. Not just your toner other parts, like fusing units and cleaning blades etc. I was looking for a deal and decided to try a refurbished printer. The printer works great, HOWEVER (This is not a negative so stay with me) when the product arrived it did not print out clean. As I mentioned large format printers have parts that will need to be replaced. I contacted the seller and GOT THE OWNER. Who apologies and admitted that they must have made a mistake and had a bad part in the printer. HE Immediately told me he was sending me a brand new replacement part. Within a day or two at most . The new part arrived, it was not packaged correctly. Before I could contact the seller, he contacted me to ask that he noticed that the part had arrived and was checking to see if all was good. I explained what happened. He was naturally flustered and apologized again. ( I got the impression that an employee was going to get a talking to.) Anyway, told me he would personally get me the right part and expedited the shipping at his expense. Next day it arrived and all was good. I view the whole experience as positive. I know that when you buy an older refurbished product, there's a chance something could go wrong. But this company did a great job in making sure everything worked out. This product is absolute garbage. Plain and simple, does not work out the box. Will print 1 page if you're lucky... eventually. If you send multiple pages to print... it will print one or two pages... and will print a random amount of copies. Example, you send pages 1 - 10 to print. I will print (1) Page 1 and (25 copies) of page 4... It is terrible. HP does not help. They say the printer is out dated, and they do not support it. They told me it does not work with Windows 11... or PDF documents It is absolutely insane... to spend $1600 for a broken product and be told to essentially piss off.... ... show more

    • No update in the software etc in YEARS.
I would love to love this printer. We had so many issues just getting it set up on the network where I work so it could print. A new network card had to be added as well as several other adjustments. AND now, it won't print certain colors, even though the ink cartridges are full. We've adjusted drivers, tried printing from different sites/apps/windows, nothing is working to fix this problem. There hasn't been an update in TEN YEARS. ... show more

    • Great quality I can depend on. Big stress relief payoff.
You might think this printer overkill for a very small business with low usage, but it has eliminated all of my frustration with those ink jets. The laser print quality is great and it is always ready to go. My inkjets would suffer clogged nozzles when not used every day, and after many ink wasting cleaning cycles still would screwup when I need it most. This LaserJet works all the time every time, big relief to be working with professional equipment, so I can concentrate on more important things. ... show more

    • Tough to set-up, NO scanner (contrary to the Amazon listing)
The specs for the printer read "Scanner - Sheetfed". Guess what? It does NOT have a scanner. If it wasn't such a pain now that it's set up at our remote location, I would return it. The remote staff are not the most computer savvy (ironic, right?) so they had to have the Geek Squad come in to hook it up. I'm sure many would not have that problem but if you're not very computer literate, it might be a challenge. BUT, it's an HP so the quality is really good and I expect it to be a workhorse. ... show more

It's heavy, and expensive and kinda primitive. 192 MB of RAM. That's megabytes. A tiny dot matrix interface with overburdened buttons like an old VCR. And only 600 dpi. And only one paper tray (bought a second 500 sheet for $500). It does what it's supposed to. Prints big and fast enough. Better after you install a 256 MB DIMM into its empty slot. Does PCL6 and postscript. Toner costs as much as the printer, although it comes with some. I guess it's reasonable and I'm happy. Would like another more modern option, but it gets the job done diligently. Oh yeah, it's immensely heavy. Don't set this up alone. Did I mention no 802.11? Just Ethernet, probably 100 base-TX. The specs are ancient. Pick up a small wifi bridge with an Ethernet port to connect it to your network. Maybe there's a jet-direct card for that, but it's not worth it. ... show more

    • This printer has serious issues - too many to list
This printer does not print when you ask it to. It prints later, sometimes the next day. Then it prints incompletely or it prints multiples of the same page instead of the entire document. Printing should not be complicated. Expect better from HP. Do not recommend this

    • Really impressed with the OS installed in this printer
I purchased this printer for use in a remote office setup where I needed print/copy/scan capabilities. The printing / copying features are just like any other device, but the scan feature really stands out. We use Onedrive for all of our computer storage needs. I was able to easily setup the scanning feature to send to my Onedrive and even setup several other Onedrive accounts for others in the office. I created shortcuts on the printer screen for each person to send to their account. This way, you do not even have to be connected to the device to scan. Just press the shortcut button and pick your account (it allows you to nickname each one). Super easy and very useful!!! ... show more
