Description

This premium 1.25" Barlow lens will give all of your 1.25" telescope eyepieces a power-doubling magnification boost with amazing image quality. The Orion High-Power 1.25" 2x 4-Element Barlow Lens provides superior performance compared to standard Barlow lenses thanks to its deluxe features and 4-element design which minimizes chromatic and spherical aberrations while preserving image sharpness and contrast. As its name implies, the High-Power 2x Barlow doubles the magnifying power of any 1.25" eyepiece, essentially dividing the eyepiece's focal length by a factor of 2. For example: using a 25mm eyepiece in the High-Power 2x Barlow provides the same magnification you'd normally get from a 12.5mm eyepiece (25 / 2 = 12.5). Using this simple formula, you can easily determine how each of your 1.25" telescope eyepieces will perform when inserted in the High-Power 2x 4-Element Barlow Lens. A 20mm ocular will behave like a 10mm eyepiece; a 6mm eyepiece will provide the magnification of a 3mm eyepiece, and so on. Since the Orion High-Power 2x Barlow features a sophisticated, 4-element, fully multi-coated lens design, it will provide better color correction and less distortion than 2- or 3-element Barlows. This means your power-boosted observations will be optimized in regards to sharpness, clarity, and brightness for a great viewing experience. View contrast is maximized thanks to a blackened interior and blackened lens edges which eliminate internal glare and off-axis reflections. A non-marring brass compression ring inside the High-Power 2x Barlow helps keep any inserted 1.25" eyepiece free of scratches and thumbscrew gouges. A stylish rubber grip exterior provides a sure grip, and the 1.25" barrel features a safety recess to keep the Barlow Lens from falling out of a focuser or diagonal should the retaining thumbscrew become loose during stargazing sessions. The Barlow's 1.25" barrel is conveniently threaded for use with 1.25" Orion filters.

  • Perfect Barlow lens for an amature astrophotographer like me
I have a Mak-Cas from Orion that you can view Jupiter and Saturn with and this Barlow lens doubles the power (as it should). It's heavy and well built. I was using it for looking at the moon this evening (use a filter if you're going to look at the moon as it's reflecting sunlight and can damage your eyes) and it's amazing...looking at the craters on the horizon as well as the Sea of Tranquility was breath taking. Great investment. ... show more

  • Quality product, solid build
Great piece that really helps bring things closer and bigger depending on your eyepieces. Solid construction and super easy to use. Just pop it in and start gazing. The moon pic I took was through my telescope with a S21 Ultra attached.

  • All the boxes are ticked
Good crisp image. I like the tightening clamp. The 1.25" tube at the bottom that is inserted into the eyepiece holder has a little narrower indented band which prevents the barlow from falling out even if it is not screwed in tight. My only criticism is that it is a bit pricey, but at least you get exactly what is advertised so no buyers remorse. ... show more

  • Good Quality
A very good Barlow. I have a Celestron Omni and the difference between them is really noticeable. A very little loss in brightness keeping the sharpness of the image
