  • These machines are a crap shoot. This one turned out to be great. I recommend buying this treadmill
Style: T101
Pay close attention to what they say in the building instructions. They're well written and will save you time. I realized that after I was done building it and saw the WHY they have you specifically do things in a specific order. I like when manufacturers separate the parts into their blister packs by the step you need bolts, nuts, and washers. They also supply all tools. So the tool-less among you need not worry. Weight: Its fully 200 lbs of STEEL. So be prepared when moving it. I already had a $20 flat low furniture dolly from harbor freight. So put it on that and wheel it around. Unless you're a weight lifter, you are not going to man handle and slide this around your house up and down stairs. For the cable from the treadmill to the console I used their twist tie to tie it off at the top of the arm. Hardest part was not snapping the wires when plugging one end into the console receptacle. Just be patient and work on it and try not to snap wires. Ok its built: they send silicone for between the belt and the platform. Used the half bottle like they say. I used a quarter bottle. retensioned the belt. ran the belt on 1 mph for a bit. Let it sit overnight to soak in. Then used the other quarter bottle the next day. To break it in, I ran it on 1 mph for two 15 minute workouts. Treadmill is perfect. The roller speed and incline roller is great. The soft start which ramps up the speed is excellent. Also when speeding up or slowing down it ramps the speed or incline so its not so abrupt. Press Start, P1 (Program 1), then Start and it will count up in minutes and you can manually adjust everything. I have had no problems in the week of use. I go 15 minutes for every 2 hrs of sit down programming I do. So thats like 10-12 individual workouts. Tip: When untensioning the belt they give you a T handle to do it with. Sharpie mark one part of the T. Then count full rotations (14 full rotations) allows me to get my arm under the belt and put silicone on the board. Tip2: Put the platform in the folded position when putting on the silicone to help it to run down the platform. Do the zig zag pattern that they recommend. Tip3: Its HEAVY so don't expect to just roll it around everywhere unless there is a lot of room for manuevering. Tip4: Build it where you are going to use it. They say it too. Very valuable advice. Tip 5: If you ever wanted a Treadmill. This is it. It doesn't have 100 programs you'll never use. It has 6 that vary when you pick the level of effort. Well done Horizon. I will consider your products in the future. ... show more

  • My 2nd Horizon Treadmill My 2nd Horizon Treadmill
Style: T101
This is my second Horizon treadmill. The first one I had, the T062, lasted for at least 15 years and I loved it. I used it constantly until it finally gave out. I replaced it with the T101 and we put that together yesterday. Very easy to put together, but it does take two people just because of the weight of it. This is definitely an upgrade from my T062. It’s smoother, quieter and also has the USB port in it. The speakers are decent too. Pros: sturdy for a home treadmill; the fan works well; plenty of programs to choose from; very easy to switch incline and speeds; instructions to put together are clear and concise; packed very well for shipping Cons: lubing the belt before you use the treadmill (which they tell you to do) is intimidating because it may not have the same tension or be centered as it should when you’re finished; the heart rate monitor on the left hand grip is a little wonky but still works; there are HUGE stickers in both cup holders and on the right and left ends of the treadmill which were difficult to remove and left sticker residue. UPDATE 8/2/24: I’ve had this treadmill for 2 months now and have found 3 things to be particularly annoying. 1) The shelf where you are supposed to put your phone, iPad, book, etc. is way too narrow. It barely even fits my Roku remote. My phone can balance at the top, but not fit in the slot. I’m not sure why this wasn’t made deeper. 2) The shelves above the speakers on both sides of the console bounce items around. I put my fan remote & Chapstick on one side and my phone & glasses on the other. They fit nicely, but they rattle no matter how I place them. I’ve also tried putting water there with the same result. I am not a very big person and when I run, things start moving and sometimes not only rattle, but fly off. I’m going to put some padded rubber shelf matting on them to see if this alleviates the problem. 3) I thought the console was supposed to reset when you held down the STOP button for a few seconds. This doesn’t happen. It will stop the treadmill and then to reset you either have to pull the emergency cord or wait a few minutes for it to time out. ... show more

  • #1 Didn't power up, replaced. No weekend support. Will update
Style: T101
12/02/2024: Horizon pinged me back after the weekend, saying it's likely a power cord issue, and they'd send another replacement part if I gave them more info. Politely declined that rigamarole, said I had already arranged the return thru Amazon. Amazon is just great 5 stars for them - returned #1 and got a replacement, figuring the first one was just a lemon. Keep in mind there is zero Horizon customer support on weekends, holidays, etc. Not a crisis just don't expect it. Second arrived, powered up fine, easy setup, about 35 mins, the key here is the control panel power cord snakes up inside one of the tall arms. So you have to do that manually, not an issue, unless they short-shrift on the length of the cord, which they did with #1; very short and about 1/1/2 inches hidden inside the top of the arm, so I got it done but very difficult to connect to the control panel. The second one came with two inches popping out the top, easy peasy. That said, it's only week #1 of using it. Trepidatious about coming weeks given reviews below, will update. Sat 11/23/2024 : T101 arrived today, Amazon delivery was great, very heavy but the delivery crew was super. Sadly after an hour assembling it, plug it in and....nothing. On/Off switch doesn't light up, no power. Passed all the troubleshooting steps, opened the motor housing to check for loose wires, nothing. Horizon has no weekend support. I'll update the review here if they can send a tech to fix, otherwise I'm packing it up for return. Will update. ... show more

  • Great Treadmill!
Style: T101
Really love this machine. Well, I have for two years until today when the drive motor started sparking and smoking, an E01 code flash on the screen and now I have to replace the motor. Go figure...2 months and 1 week ago my warranty expired. I bought the 2 year protection plan and as fate would have it, am unhappy. I've emailed Horizon Fitness today to get a price on a new motor. 😓 Update: 5/26/2026 Horizon is sending a new motor! Honoring the lifetime warranty. No costs for me. I'm happy again. 😊 ... show more

  • Great Treadmill Overall!
Style: T101
I had a treadmill for many years, until it finally died. I've been on the lookout for a new one for a while and the Horizon T101 was the one! Great price! Had the perfect delivery time for me; not over a span of days or while I'm at work, but provided a specific time slot of 8:00 to 10:00 am on Memorial Day. Perfect! Next time I will definitely pay the fees to have someone else assemble. I just had it delivered as far as my garage. Wrong choice. LOL! After a bit of a struggle, I had to call my parents, who are in their 80s, to come help me. We got it in the house and then I thought I would be able to assemble it myself. Again, wrong choice. Had to call them back again the following Saturday to help me put the railings and console on. I read other reviews where people said they did it themselves. Not sure how they held the rail in place, lined up the screws, and put them in. Definitely takes one person to hold and one to assemble. Then you have to loosen the belt and try to squirt silicone under there. That's a bit of a nuisance. Never did that with my old treadmill. Apparently, you have to continue to do this every so often as well. It's been up and running for over a week now and I am very happy with it! The price was right within my range. It's a very nice looking piece of equipment. The motor is quiet. The handrails are really comfortable to hold on to. It runs great! I haven't tried all the programs yet. There are a couple minor things that I would like to change. The complaints I have are with the console. It's pretty to look at, but I don't know who designed it. The holders on each side are awkward. They kind of slant up and forward, and they're tall, so you can't lay anything down. The items have to be upright. I can't put my TV remote in there, or anything else for that matter, because it just falls out. I'm going to attach a small basket with Velcro strips to hold my water bottle, phone, and remote. The "shelf" for a tablet is worthless. It's really narrow and is slanted behind the small lip. I wouldn't trust a tablet to stay put on there. I can just see getting a good pace walking and all your items falling all over the treadmill. Yikes!! Another thing is I wish everything on the console lit up instead of just the numbers. The different programs listed across the top, both the speed and incline arrows and numbers along the sides would be nice lit up, and the enter, and change screen options would be nice lit up. There is a fan, which is okay. I tend to walk in closer to the console, and I've noticed if you stay further back, you can feel the fan better. I've read this in other reviews also, that it would be nice if the fan was stronger and if it had a couple levels to choose from. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, and I look forward to many years of walking on it. If these minor glitches with the console design were changed, it would be perfect! ... show more

  • A Great Buy!
Style: T101
When I mentioned to my primary care physician that I wanted to purchase a treadmill for home, he recommended a Nordic Track and gave me a printout of the features and specifications. I thought the cost was a bit high, so I searched for a less costly treadmill that might meet my needs. I had never heard of Horizon and was pleasantly surprised to learn that its model T101 had comparable features as the treadmill that my doctor had recommended, but at a considerably lower price. In addition to searching for the right features, I had to be mindful of the treadmill size, because I live in a townhouse style condo, without a basement. I am totally satisfied with my purchase. It provides a large size treadmill feel while taking up less space, and is equipped with features that I thought could only be found in a large treadmill (e.g., large control panel, usb hookup, automatic incline and speed control, speeds up to 10 mph, blower, preprogrammed workout sessions, etc.). I particularly love that it is equipped with Bluetooth speakers and a place to rest my tablet. I had no problem assembling the treadmill by myself. However, I did need assistance to get the heavy treadmill up to the second floor, and I could have used assistance to roll the treadmill onto the mat after assembly, because the mat kept curling up as the wheels rolled over it. I assume this was the case because the mat was on top of my carpeted floor. I should note that I recently contacted their tech support because I had questions about ensuring that I had put the right tension on the running belt after lubrication. They were knowledgeable and helpful. ... show more

  • Horizon treadmill
Style: T101
I searched for quite some time looking for a treadmill that could work for our family. First started looking for walking pads, but then decided to look at home treadmills too. Wanted something that could be stored if needed - the bottom folds up to help with space (it is heavy so i don't recommend trying to move it all over); wanted an incline feature; wanted something that could go from a slow walk all the way up to a run. Also hoped for a few pre-program settings. This has all of that. It is sturdy - another thing i hoped to find. It has bluetooth speakers - they are not great, but i do notice a difference when i listen through those versus my device. Also has a fan - haven't needed it yet, but that was easy to use too. It is easy to take speed and incline up and down. It is not very portable though - some fold away, this does not, but the bottom folds up easily so you can make it upright if you need to save some space when not in use. It is heavy so you will need multiple people to put it where you want it. Also, consider taking it out of the box to move it. This is priced on the higher end of what I planned to spend, but after my research, i decided to spend the extra money - people who have had Horizon products liked their longevitiy. ... show more
