This is overall a very nice, high quality product. I think it will last for years. Eliminates trashcan odor and has a sharp, clean, modern appearance. I needed this item because I don't have room for an under-counter trashcan, and it solves the problem in an elegant manner. The motion detection is a little quirky. If the detector is set towards the front of the unit, it is exquisitely sensitive and opens the lid every time I walk by, even if I'm relatively far away from the can. If the detector is set towards the top, I seem to have to get very close to the lid in order to open the can. This is a minor issue in my opinion. I do like the option of being able to open the can for a longer period via the tactile "button" and being able to close the can immediately via the same mechanism. The countdown lights are also nice. Overall, very satisfied with the overall fit, finish, quality, and function of the trashcan.

We've had this trash can for close to two years, and it's operated as it should with no problems. Recently, the plastic rim-piece, which holds the bag in place, snapped in a critical spot, and it could no longer hold a trash bag with any weight inside. I contacted the company to try and obtain a new plastic rim piece, and even though it's outside of the 1 year replacement warranty, they REPLACED THE ENTIRE TRASH CAN FOR FREE!!! That's above and beyond as far as customer service goes. Highly recommended!

This is a pretty good trash can, but we ended up returning it because it didn't quite work for us. THE GOOD: * Good size and shape, fits great next to a counter. (Love that the motion sensor is on the side!) * Looks pretty classy. * Opens quickly. * Includes built-in wall charger (no need for batteries!) THE OK: * Motion sensor is decent: never failed to open, but occasionally opened when I was just passing nearby. THE BAD: * Time-consuming to replace the bag using their bag-hiding liner system. * Standard 20-gallon bags are a very very tight fit, almost don't fit at all. * Guests often physically press the word "open", which triggers different behavior (the lid stays open for about 90 seconds) and basically defeats the purpose of having a lided trash can when hosting. CONCLUSION: This is a quality trash can which will be a great fit for some people, but do be aware of its limitations which are substantial. In the end we decided to return this product because it was too much of a pain for me to replace the bags compared our prior pedal-operated model.

Absolute ’trash’. No pun intended. First 13 gallon can ordered the lid kept opening and closing on its own all day all night. So it was returned for another one. The second one did the same thing opened and closed all night by itself. Absolute garbage. Home labs customer service was no help at all kept giving us the same generic response. Clean the sensor changed the batteries turn it off for a few hours and turn it back on. None of which worked. For 150 bucks the garbage can should work.

After the company reached out to us, they immediately sent a replacement item. We are very happy with how the company responded and stood behind their product. We retract the initial review. Within a short time after receiving the item, the mechanically closing lid stopped closing. We called the number to customer service only to get a recording stating that they no longer take calls and to contact customer service through the website help email process. We sent several emails through their site (as directed) with no response. The item is great as long as it works, but obviously they DO NOT stand behind their one year warranty. Now all we have is just a big trash can.

with limited space, I had almost given up getting trash can tht would fit well, look decent, and keep my fur baby from getting into the trash. This is bit pricey but well worth it! Sensor works great AND it can be opened or losed by pressing the buttons as well! The ac adapter is a nice touch if you don't want to buy the batteries!
