I was very hesitant to get a rice cooker. We have a pot, it cooks rice very well. We don’t need a unitasker that will take up precious counter space. Well buddy, I was wrong. In the exact same 20 minutes, I now have fluffy, perfect rice, with zero admin. The pot that comes with this bad boi is non stick, so it all slides off easily in the wash. Well, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong. Put in the proper rice, wash it a bit. Leave the proper amount of water so the rice is soft and not crunch in the middle(I really hate it when that happens). So far every batch has been perfect. Just a touch of extra water does the trick. As long as it keeps working for a good long time we will be very happy together. It is small, but it cooks the rice up pretty fast. The only think you can't do is once it's done you can't just leave it on warm. The rice will definitely get burned on the bottom. It's better to take it out, or at least unplug it when it's done. You're suppose to let it sit for a while because it supposedly still cooks for a bit after done, but I haven't found any problems with eating it as soon as it's done. Good stuff. I've had it for a while and realized that I haven't done a review on it. It is really trial and error with this cooker. According to the directions, you put one cup of rice to one cup of water. The rice came out sticky and not done. While it was steaming really well, it wasn't enough time or water. Like I said trial and error. I have tried it with one cup of rice and 2 cups of water and it was better but a little overdone. Today, I am doing a half cup of rice and a cup and a half of water. To use this product is easy! You just push the button down and it's on. It turns itself off after the water evaporates and keeps the rice warm. I normally mix my sugar and butter (southern girl here) right in the pan. It comes with a measuring cup and spatula as well. I have also cooked soup from a can in it. I just has to make sure that there was still liquid in it. The black color hasn't faded at all. There has been a time where the steam pops out and is all over the counter and stainless steel, but all of that can be wiped down easily. ... show more
