  • Great little rice cooker. It has one job and does it well.
Color: Black Size: 1.5Qt (3-Cup Uncooked / 6-Cup Cooked)
It is a nice little rice cooker. No fancy stuff just a good, affordable rice cooker that doesn’t need lots of additional features. Our prior one from the same brand lasted many years, but eventually the nonstick coating got scratched up so we chose this one. It is just two of us, so we never used the capacity of a large one. This size is perfect to make rice for 1-3 people. It is easy to use and doesn’t have . The only thing to be careful of is the plastic feet on the bottom. They are only held by a small metal pin and wobble a little. If one were to be too rough I can see one snapping off. ... show more

  • Rinse Babe Rinse!
Color: Black Size: 1.5Qt (3-Cup Uncooked / 6-Cup Cooked)
I’m surprised makers of rice cookers don’t put the following in bold type surrounded by a box.: You must rinse the rice thoroughly or the starch will boil up in your cooker will probably cause overflow. And just a quick rinse under the tap or even with a spray hose won’t do it. Here’s the best way to do it. It works 100% and you’ll learn something. put the rice in the cooker or in a separate bowl cover it with a good inch of water. see how clear the water is. now stir with a spoon and watch it get cloudy. Watch non-rice particles float to the surface. Drain. Do it at least 3 more times until the stirred water is less cloudy. I do it four times. Your rice is now ready for any sized cooker and it won’t cause overflow because you rinsed off the starch. The rice will be less sticky and fairly perfect. This unit does great. The bowl is definitely nonstick and if you rinse the rice, it cooks it perfectly. ... show more

  • Simple and cheap
Color: White Size: 1.5Qt (3-Cup Uncooked / 6-Cup Cooked)
This works exactly as described. It's a perfect, simple rice cooker. The rice was cooked evenly and didn't burn. The basket is light and has a nonstick coating that I feel like could come off over time.

  • Easy to Use, Works Well
Color: White Size: 1.5Qt (3-Cup Uncooked / 6-Cup Cooked)
Got it today, and was hesitant at first. I can't make rice on the stove. I have tried. Boy, howdy, I've tried and failed. But I like rice. I really do. I decided to give this a try. It should be easy enough to work, even for me, right? I mean, there's one button. That's it, one. I read the directions, rinsed the rice (which was a first for me, so maybe that's where I messed up before?), and filled the rice and water to the appropriate lines, then plugged it in. When the cooking was done, it immediately flipped over to "warm" and it was a loud enough "click" that I could hear it in the next room. Not a "boom" but it stood out, and that was helpful. The rice was fluffy, and moist, just absolutely perfect. There's an inner pot that holds the rice, and it's super easy to take out and clean. I'm really happy with this, and I can see lots more meals with rice in my future. ... show more

  • Perfect for me
Color: Black Size: 1.5Qt (3-Cup Uncooked / 6-Cup Cooked)
Works great. I was a little afraid of a rice maker (used only instant for decades), but this thing is super easy and the rice comes out perfect. I live alone, so the size is good for me. If you have a bigger family or entertain a lot, get a bigger one.

  • Nice cooker and looks good.
Color: White Size: 1.5Qt (3-Cup Uncooked / 6-Cup Cooked)
Cooked rice great. Cleans up easy. Small, but will cook more rice than most need. I put 2 cups of uncooked rice in it and when done, the rice was at the top, but not touching the lid. The outside part and insert feel sturdy. Good purchase.

  • Small and mighty
Color: Black Size: 1.5Qt (3-Cup Uncooked / 6-Cup Cooked)
This is a good, affordable, and easy-to-use rice cooker. No crazy buttons like some of the ones I have used in the past from Japan lol, just cook or warm. However, I am giving this review 4 stars because as much as I love it and as much as it has made my life easier when prepping rice, I do think the price and quality shows up here and there. First issue I have noticed: I have never been able to get the automatic sensor to work when cooking my rice. The first time I cooked rice with this thing to make a burrito bowl, I left it on for a bit thinking it would shut off by itself once the water evaporated, but it didn't. Thankfully I didn't burn my rice but it did crisp up and brown a bit on the bottom. Perhaps it's something I am doing, or maybe it's just the model or even my outlet, but as far as I am aware this is supposed to shut off automatically. I don't walk away from this thing while it's cooking so what I do now is just before the rice is done, I turn it to warm (like say a minute or two before it's fully cooked) and let it sit and steam off any remaining moisture, which works out perfectly for me. Second issue: also in my testing I discovered that adding at least a 2:1 ratio of water to rice with oil or butter results in perfect, fluffy, tender, restaurant quality rice every time. AGAIN this may be a personal issue - elevation, weather, water quality, who knows. I'm in Los Angeles so perhaps being so close to the ocean and the local hard water is doing something to my rice. But when I was doing 1:1 or 1.5:1 ratios of water to rice, my rice would be slightly underdone even when fully cooked. Like not crunchy but just a touch bit al dente. I only like al dente when making fried rice as the kernels hold up better when you're beating at them and pushing them around in a skillet, but for curries, bowls, and other applications I like my rice soft and fluffy. Even with more delicate rice like Jasmine or Basmati, I get the most amazing results with 2 cups of water vs just 1. Other than that this is perfect. It's super easy to clean; literally just run it under warm water and any left over rice slides right out. It's also small and cute and portable. For a single person or even a small family I think most people will enjoy having this in their kitchen. If you're more picky or don't mind spending a little more money on fancier options like steaming, brown rice, etc, I recommend upgrading to a Japanese rice cooker. ... show more
