I'm really impressed with this unit and the main thing I'd want to say to someone contemplating this as an FID bench for a home gym is don't hesitate. If you're looking for this kind of bench and it's in your budget to do so, just pull the trigger. Very solid, comfortable, easy to use, and the range of angles and settings is super useful. I use it together with a rack for flat, incline, and decline bench press, and for the corresponding dumbbell fly movements. Before getting this bench I'd had a flat bench (all I could get my hands on for months during the pandemic) and doing incline/decline with bands at various angles in the squat rack using band pegs. That allowed me to muddle through in a very compromised way, but really the bands just don't give you the same type of physiological stimulation you get from an honest confrontation between your muscles, gravity, and good old steel. I feel like this bench will outlast me, and my experience with this bench so far has made me want to think first of Hoist when I need more gear. I'm looking to add the leg/preacher attachments next. Finally, I want to add that one of the big challenges with this type of bench is how comfortable or uncomfortable it is right at the spot where the bench portion meets up with the seat portion. I figure somebody over at Hoist must have spent a fair bit of time in solidworks getting the geometry right on that interface. It's comfortable at every angle, flat, incline, or decline. I’m very pleased with the overall quality of this bench. It is extremely well built to last. The bench is sturdy and comfortable. It works well in a flat, incline and decline position. Love this bench! It is solid. Doesn't rock or shift. Easy to adjust and is very comfortable. Can also add attachments for leg press and preacher curls.

    • Well-built weight bench that will last a lifetime
During the pandemic I finally cancelled my gym membership and set up a home gym. I bought an entry level adjustable weight bench to save money: $150 or so for a Flybird, as opposed to $500 for a Hoist, the same brand lots of commercial gyms provide. I should have splurged and bought the Hoist. The Flybird was fine, but really built for shorter individuals. I’m 6’2” and my head often hung off the top of the back seat for many exercises.
