I just recieved it today, assembled it in 30 minutes, I have done several so did not look at instructions until it was done. Prior to lighting I reviewed the instructions, my only negative comment is that some pictures are small. The assembly guide was a gloss high quality manual with clear and literate instructions. The packaging was excellent, no shipping damage or issues at all. The fasteners were sealed, the components were all bagged and protected. I was very impressed for the price to have it look this good. The tank door was a bit flimsy yet functioned fine. The only negative and it is a small one is that there is no tank tie down or restaint in this design. I added a bungy strap for when I roll it around the patio. As long as you follow the lighting instructions mine lit without issue. It generates significant heat for a nice radius with very resolute control of the flame. I was pleasently surprised that it was very quiet, I expected some gas flow noise or the irritating heater huffing noise, it did not do that. Priced right for our first time using a patio heater. Assembly wasn't too bad. The problem is the glue used to adhere the protective coating on the lower cylinder stuck bad and has left a film. As soon as the weather warms I will try to remove this.

Assembled two. This is not a $400 unit so, for the price, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. All parts present, no damage, and fit properly. Instructions adequate and parts labeled. No need for "redos" to correct assembly confusions. Studying the exploded diagram of the device was as helpful as reading the cryptic step-by-step instructions. How to's of filling base with sand not explained yet really should be done. Opening only handled a small trowel-full at a time, having to insert two fingers in fill-hole to shove just-added sand toward the periphery to make room for the next bit. Sand not included, of course, and adding the sand must be done before beginning assembly so have some on hand before units arrive. A 0.5 cubic foot bag of sand was adequate for the two heaters. Assembled in 90 minutes, 30 of that being the time to tediously fill base with sand. Both fired right up and provide plenty of heat. ... show more

    • Good Quality - some assembly required
this is our 3rd patio heater. I have one high end I paid more than $700 for in 1998, one from Costco that is of a lower quality but for the price I paid ( $159) this seems like a great value. I gave it 4 stars out of 5 because I felt like I was putting more parts together than was needed for the unit to reasonably ship. The table top feels a little cheap and it made of a laminate feeling top - I suspect it will not weather well but it is non essential, easy to remove and I have only had this for 1 week so I may be wrong about how it weathers. The other reason I didn't give it 5 of 5 is the quality feels just ok ( for example the base has a hinged door with a latch - it requires bending down and using both hands to line up the door with the lock mechanism ) again this is minor and after all the shopping around I would likley buy this unit again if I replace by 15 year old heater. One positive - it comes with a plastic cover that fits the top - I didn't expect this so that was a bonus. ... show more

    • Don't buy unless you don't mind dents and scratches on a new product.
Buyer beware - Base is so very cheaply made - I ordered one and arrived dented and door misaligned. Ordered replacement even worse condition. Don't waste your time. Manufacturer should really reconsider how this product is packaged for appropriate shipping. (ordered black/stainless)
