  • Reliable Refurbished Hard Drive with Minor Age Concern
I recently acquired a refurbished hard drive, and I'm generally pleased with its performance. The hard drive is in excellent working condition, and it has effectively met my storage needs. My only minor concern is that the unit I received is from 2014, and I had hoped for a newer model. Nonetheless, it has been reliable and functional since I started using it. ... show more

  • So far, so good
I know this is a used drive, and that’s fine. I needed it for a failed drive of the same type in a NAS. It’s working fine and shows no SMART errors.

  • Been in work for almost 5 years.
This disc I received has been used for almost 5 years. This is much more than was promised in the product description on Amazon. Everything else is fine.

  • Por el momento todo bien!
Ya tengo un mes con el disco funcionando dentro de un servidor Proxmox como espejo de otro disco WD de 6Tb y hasta el momento se ha comportado como debería

  • Great Bang for the Buck
Bought this drive this year as a back up drive and its a real speedy drive. Recommended for anyone looking for either internal or external storage or system drive.

  • Works great. 2nd drive. Spins down when not in use
This is the 2nd drive on my PC for storage + backups with the main being an SSD. Spins down when not in use (usually not in use). ~5 months of use is not a long time but so far no issues so that's a 5/5. Note that Enterprise drives are more loud than other hard drives. They sound like hard drives from the 1990s with lots of clicks and bumps when reading and writing so if that bothers you, don't get one. My PC is almost silent except for when this HDD is in use but that sound is nostalgic, I don't mind it. The reason I got a used drive is because new drives have a high failure curve in the first year that used drives avoid. If a hard drive lasts through the first year, chances are it will last a long time after. ... show more

  • Reallocated Sectors Count / No Warranty
I have a number of HGST drives and have always had good luck with them. I needed another 6TB one at one point, but there were no more new ones to be had, at least on Amazon. I found a brand new one on eBay at that time for a good price and it's been great. I bought this renewed 6TB around the same time for a spare, which I had to use this weekend. It sat sealed in its original, unopened and undamaged box since I got it in November 2019. After copying over the data from the drive it was replacing, I ran CrystalDiskInfo on it. It immediately showed "Caution" with a Reallocated Sector Count of 2 after only 3 starts soon after installing it (should be 0, as all of my other drives show). Sure, it may be fine for a while, but when you see that number climbing, it's a bad sign. Then I go to check the warranty status - WD/HGST site indicates the warranty ended on October 30th, 2019... Receipt (still in the box) clearly says "(Renewed) w/3 Year Factory Warranty (New)". This is one of the reasons I felt OK purchasing a Renewed/Recertified drive in the first place. Anyone know if there is any recourse at this point? SKU on the receipt is AMZT_HUS726060ALE610_MR_CR-!, which seems to indicate that Amazon was the seller. ***UPDATE: 06.26.20*** Was able to get a hold of the seller, Tech on Tech, who honored the warranty and immediately offered a replacement or refund once they received the defective drive. I had to ship it back to them at my own expense, but I did get a full refund for the original price. This was the only option available, as they no longer had any of these drives in stock at the time. I'm upping the rating from 1 to 4 stars mainly for the seller, as they did right by me. ... show more

  • perfect for my NAS
I've been using these and other used HGST high capacity drives for a few years now. This purchase was almost a year ago and the drives have been working fine. No smart issues, no weird noises, everything works just fine. Some people have complained about higher life than expected and while the seller shouldn't be falsifying the amount of ON hours these drives have, it really shouldn't make a difference if the drive is good and has 0 bad sectors. Spinning rust manufacturing has gotten so good, and defects are so low that even with the additional hours seen by a few buyers these drives still have enough life left in them to last for over a decade of 24/7 use. ... show more
