I have hatched chickens before and this incubator is TINY and the controls are awful. It seems to do ok with settings once you get them stable but the turning mechanism is stupid and doesn’t seem to work. The instructions are awful so I can figure out how to make it turn the eggs. If you only want to hatch 3-4 chicken eggs it might work but I would not recommend it.

We got this incubator in as soon as we decided we were getting chickens. We plan on hatching our own chicks to spread our flock. This incubator turned out to just not be what we wanted. We set it up and followed all the instructions, but we could not get it to hold temperature for more than 45 minutes. It would raise in temp as soon as we walked away from it and would start beeping without stopping. We would silence it, get it cooled back down and walk away for it to start beeping again. The slightest adjustment in temperature and it would start alarming. That would be fine, if it would actually regulate the temperature. I never did see the automatic turner work either, even though I kept an eye on the eggs majority of the time we had them in the incubator.

this is easy to use, and what I like most about it are two things - the agitation and the illuminator to see the movement in the egg. I cannot tell you how exciting it is for children to see the movement. Lastly, I have trusted this over the weekend to manage the eggs alone, and it performed perfectly. I do wish that it had a camera that I could watch remotely and record the hatching. I am using quail eggs if that makes a difference for anyone.

The media could not be loaded. I love this Heyfriday incubator; it's so adorable and works well. The temperature reads in Celsius. The screen shows the temperature, humidity, days, and minutes. I love the external spots to add water; they're the two yellow flaps and the front. The incubator can be left in the foam box to keep the temperature and humidity where they should be for hatching, which is perfect for cooler environments. The candlelight is bright and works well. I love that it lights up inside so you can see the eggs without opening anything. The automatic egg turner feature works well; it doesn't jar the eggs like some brands do. It's definitely worth the money!
