I'm pleased with my purchase. it's replacing a 3 year old Giraffe hose that started to lead around a sharp bend necessitated by the roll up wheel it was attached to. This hose is flexible and yet doesn't want to kink.

Having switched almost completely over to the stainless steel type of hoses I wanted to try this type of hybrid hose for those places where I need a higher flow rate due to its larger inside diameter. The steel-jacketed hoses are super-flexible but part of that comes from the fact that the inner hose has a small diameter, and they do significantly impair the flow rate for long runs. When first uncoiled this hose was clearly more rubbery and flexible than the typical plastic hoses you find everywhere, but it still retained some tendency to hold it's shape and not lie flat. That changed when filled with water however and with the extra mass of the water the hose becomes nearly perfectly flexible with no tendency to kink. It is much easier to handle than the stiffer plastic hoses, especially for the end sections if you need to use the hand sprinkler. The sprayer is all plastic but I am finding this style with the rotating dial to change the spray pattern to be the best all around. This particular sprayer has an interesting on-off control. It isn't a momentary trigger but instead it has a loop that you push up with your thumb to turn on. It remains on until you pull it back. This is turning out to be nice for filling buckets or leaving on for extended sprinkling. My only minor complaint is that the plastic end sleeves that you use to tighten the hose end to the spray or spigot do not stay in place by snapping onto the brass couplings. After use they will fall off the brass fittings and slide down the hose, so you need to slide them back up to tighten or remove the coupling. I don't know how long this hybrid hose or the new stainless jacketed hoses are going to last, but I'm banking on them lasting as long as the plastic ones that kink and develop weak spots after a couple years. I am surprised that I have not seen any of these newer hoses in hardware stores or home centers, but maybe they will take a while to catch on. Personally I can't see any reason to use the conventional plastic hose except possibly for long straight semi-permanent runs where you want the highest flow rate and you rarely need to coil it back up. Highly recommended for use with a hand sprayer.

I'm using the hose & the sprayer in two different places. The sprayer is great. I'm not sure of what all of the different spray patterns are for. I mostly use the garden spray to water flowers & plants, or the single, high-powered stream for cleaning things. I'll also on occasion use the wide angle stream that sprays out most forcefully to rinse the deck or patio. I like the quality of the sprayer. All of the different spray patterns work as described. One of my favorite things on this sprayer is the on/off switch. Rather than having to hold down a handle, there's a lever on the top of the sprayer that you just push up or pull down to turn it off & on. That is such a huge improvement. You can also use the switch to regulate how much water sprays out, so you can customize the flow to the setting you want. I do wish the hose connection was made of brass to assure a good, long lasting fit with the garden hose. The hose is also well-made. The connectors are made of brass & they fit the typical outdoor faucet connection. The hose is made of several layers of tubing, wrap & finished with heavy silicone tubing on top. It also has a thick, ergonomically designed grip on the end to make holding the hose very comfortable & to hold the hose itself so that it doesn't come apart at the connection between the hose & the fitting. It's pretty short, about three feet. I'm assuming it's designed designed that way so that Vine users can evaluate the quality of the hose, rather than use it in the yard. I actually found a use for it. We happen to have a trellis by the faucet & I've connected it to a splitter & a timer. I just need a short piece of hose to water the clematis vine on the trellis, so that's what I use it for. We also use a small hose like this in our basement with the dehumidifier & this would be perfect for long-term use in that application. Overall, I's give this a top rating, except for the price, which I believe is too high. It's available in different lengths. A 50 foot hose is currently $49.99. A 25 foot hose is about $40.00 & a 100 foot hose is about $80.00. I'd recommend the following prices for the various lengths: 25-foot - $29.99, 50-foot - $39.99, 100-foot - $44.99. I believe those are more reasonable prices. There are other lengths as well, and they should be priced in a similar way. I took a star off for the high pricing. Except for the price & the lack of brass construction in the sprayer, I'd highly recommend this hose & sprayer. They're extremely well-made & very durable. I'd also suggest the manufacturer, in addition to the sprayer/hose set, offer the sprayer by itself so people can purchase one for other hoses they already have. I'd recommend a price of $16.99 for the sprayer by itself.
