  • Definitely helps with Migraines
Style: Gel Pack Purple
I bought this cap to help with migraines. A cold cloth or ice pack when you have a migraine can offer some relief but they either don't get cold enough or stay cold long enough. I found this item during a search for an alternative and after reading the reviews decided to give this a go. After using this cap with several migraines I have mostly wonderful things to say about it and only a few minor negatives. Pros: This thing gets cold and I mean freezing cold and it will stay cold for at least an hour. When I go to bed with a migraine, this thing is cold long enough for me to go to sleep. The cap is also a snug fit which is a great bonus because the tightness of the cap applies pressure which when combined with the cold is a winning combo! The cap is sectioned out in squares and inside each square is an ice cube which can be moved or pushed to the area that is hurting. The ice cubes are hard but not so hard that you can't lay down on them. I can use this cap sitting in a chair or sleeping in bed and I never have to fear it will fall off! Cons: The cap will probably freeze your eyeballs! No matter how you put the cap on, there is always an ice cube close to your eyes. If you headache is coming from your eyes then this is a good thing but if you are experiencing pain from another part of your head, then your eyes are going to hurt from the cold. Also, the square sections of the cap are too large (in my opinion). The cubes can only be moved around within their square and this means that when you put the cap on, that you might not be able to get a cube to actually sit on or be near your source of pain. I actually had this happen a few times. I think the squares should be smaller which would allow for more ice which in turn would provide for more coverage. I considered these Cons to be minor because I was able to come up with a solution for both cons. For the ice not getting to the right area, I found that I could turn my cap sideways or put it on halfway and that would put a square in the right place. The cap is designed to go on one way so it can be a little uncomfortable when you have to wear it off center but not as uncomfortable as a migraine. My favorite solution was for the eyeball freezing part. which required the use of a sleeping mask that I had bought on Amazon but didn't really like. The sleeping mask that I bought had claimed to have a Velcro band to help keep it secure at night but when I got it, there was no Velcro - it was just an elastic band which means it would slip off each and every night and I ended up throwing that sleeping mask in a drawer. That is until I got this cap. What I do is place the sleeping mask on my face and then place the cap over it. This had 3 positive side affects. The first was that the sleeping mask created a barrier between the cap and my eyes. I can still feel the coolness but its not so cold as to hurt my eyes anymore. The second was that the combination of the sleeping mask and the cap created a complete blackout from any and all light. As anyone who has ever suffered from a migraine knows - light is pain! And the third benefit is the cap is tighter on my head when I am wearing the sleeping mask which means it creates more pressure and pressure is relief where a migraine is concerned. I really love this item even with the cons I had mentioned. I might have felt differently if I hadn't been able to find a solution for them, but I did and I will never be without one of these. If they ever create an "Upgraded" version with smaller squares and maybe a built in eye cover that can be removed if needed, then I will be the first in line to purchase! I love this thing so much that I bought a second one and when I don't have a headache, they are both in the freezer and when a migraine hits me - I can rotate between the two and always have a cold cap handy if I need it. If you are a migraine sufferer and are looking for something to offer relief, then pull out your favorite sleeping mask and give this thing a try. ... show more

  • Best ice cap for migraines! Don't need to put it in your freezer. Refrigeration works great.
Style: Gel Pack Purple
I have previously reviewed this migraine ice cap but would like to add more now that I have had it for a few weeks. I absolutely love this cap! For me it is the perfect fit & just the right amount of compression. I have read where some customers have found this ice cap to be too cold. I found the same thing when I kept it in the freezer. However, by storing it just in the refrigerator I find it has a perfect chill to it at just the right amount of coolness. So problem solved, at least for me. I love this cap so much that I find I have fallen asleep many times with my cap on. I have had severe & debilitating migraines from the age of 18, & am now 69! How I wish this cap had been available many decades ago! ... show more

  • Pretty Good Cap
Style: Gel Pack Purple
Migraine meds give me too many side effects, so I've figured out a more natural protocol that is showing promise for my migraine attacks. I do think adding an ice cap has helped. I'll share what I do in case it is useful for someone else. First the product: Is this the perfect cap for me? No, but it's pretty good. The cap seems sturdy and I think the product will last. It's a little tight, and I don't have a big head, but it may need to be snug, I just can't tell. The gel sections that get cold get very hard, almost solid, and they dig into my head a bit, so I have to let it thaw until it is malleable before wearing. Once on, it feels pretty good. Here's the protocol: I take: magnesium threonate B2 I go to be by around 10 and get up by six or seven. Something about following natural circadian rhythym seems to be working. I make sure to expose myself to morning, afternoon, and late afternoon light. The lights at different times of the day are important for our health. That used to sound crazy to me until I started doing 3x day sun exposure and I started feeling much better in general. I swear we are all walking batteries. I limit blue light in the evening. If I feel prodrome stage of migraine attack starting, I wear blue light blockers in the evening and get to be early. At first sign of migraine attack, I fill up ice bath and get in it, wearing the ice cap. Does it sound crazy? Yes. Does it hurt? Yes. But not as much as a four-day migraine does. I now do about 3 regular ice baths a week and three saunas per week, take a few supplements, get a little sun, and my migraines that used to last 4+ days long and sometimes hit back to back, totalling over 5 per month.....now reduced by 80%. Ice cap helps me. Good luck. ... show more

  • Works wonders
Style: Gel Pack Purple
This thing works so well in cooling my head down when I’m having a bad migraine. I literally bought a second one because of how awesome it is. Fits my head just fine, and stays in place very well. Since it’s kinda like an ice pack, you can use it for different areas like your arm or chest for example, if you wanted. I’ve used it on the back of my neck as well as my chest once my head cools off. Loveee this! ... show more
