This hanging patio heater quickly puts out an impressive amount of heat, especially when you are sitting or standing within a few feet of it. It starts producing warmth almost immediately, so there is no long wait for it to heat up. The infrared heat feels direct and effective rather than just warming the surrounding air. My favorite part of it is the ceiling-mounted design. I prefer this to freestanding patio heaters that take up valuable floor space and can get in the way of furniture, people, and pets. I love that it is completely out of the walking area while still directing heat down toward the seating space. It also looks much cleaner and more permanent than having another large appliance standing on the porch. The heater is lightweight, and the adjustable chain makes it easier to position at an appropriate height. It is important to follow the clearance requirements, including leaving plenty of space between the heater and the ceiling and keeping the bottom high enough above the floor. Our covered porch provided an ideal location between the two ceiling fans, and the heater fits into the space nicely without making the area look cluttered. Another advantage is that it is silent. There is no fan noise, rattling, or air blowing around the porch. It also does not stir up dust, leaves, or pet hair the way a fan-forced heater might. The silent functionality makes it easy to have a conversation, listen to music, or just chilling outside without constantly hearing a heater running. The housing is designed for outdoor use and claims it is waterproof - although I still feel better having it installed under our covered porch. It also features overheating and tip-over safety protections. Tip-over protection is not a concern of mine since it is securely hanging. Overall, this is a powerful and practical heating option for a covered patio, gazebo, garage, or similar space. It produces a lot of heat, begins warming almost instantly, operates quietly, and saves a tremendous amount of floor space compared with a freestanding heater. For our porch, the hanging design is definitely the better solution.

This is a 1500-watt infrared heater that hangs from the ceiling and lets you sit outside in the cold like some kind of civilized animal instead of huddling indoors like a refugee from your own patio. Remote control. Infrared heat. Doesn’t blow the air around like those cheap fan heaters that just redistribute your misery. It warms what it points at — you, the chairs, the table — without turning the whole neighborhood into a convection oven. Installs reasonably, runs quiet, and actually does the job it claims to do, which is more than you can say for half the outdoor “solutions” they push these days. We’ve reached a point in history where people will spend good money to heat the open air so they can drink a beer outside in November. And you know what? This thing makes that particular brand of human stubbornness almost respectable. It works. It doesn’t quit. And it keeps the night from winning. Five stars. Because sometimes the best technology is the kind that just lets you stay outside a little longer.

I am extremely impressed with this 1500-watt outdoor electric patio ceiling heater. It puts out an incredible amount of heat, and it starts warming the area quickly. I was honestly surprised by just how much heat it produces! It works especially well for taking the chill out of the air while sitting outside. The heat is strong enough that it’s almost hard to take pictures near it because you can really feel the warmth coming off the heater. I love the fact that it’s designed to mount overhead, so it doesn’t take up valuable floor or table space. It’s a great addition to an outdoor patio and makes the space much more comfortable when the temperatures start dropping. I can’t wait for winter to really put this heater to the test! If it puts out this much heat now, I have a feeling it’s going to be amazing on those cold winter evenings. I’m very happy with this and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

I installed this out on our three-season porch where our hot tub is. Since the draw is 1500W (12.5 Amps at 120V) I did have to install a new electrical outlet to test it, though perhaps not everyone would need to. If you're using this on an existing circuit, it will no doubt plug in fine; however, many residential circuits are only 15Amps, so if there's much else on when this is drawing full power, it could cause nuisance tripping. The remote control is easy to use, hanging it is super simple, and it is the perfect size for my porch room which is 7x 12. It puts out a very decent amount of heat. My wife and I normally turn it on when we walk out - freeze for a second while we get in, and by the time we get out, the room is very comfortable. So far, it's been very reliable and the comfort is nice. I really like that it is up out of the way, allows for good airflow, and makes me feel much safer about using it around the hot tub (especially since it is mounted where if it did fall, it wouldn't be in the hot tub).

I hung this patio heater above a covered outdoor sitting area where I wanted overhead warmth without taking up floor space. So I am pretty stubborn and a bit bull headed and impatient sometimes, which is definitely not always a good thing. So as a warning to anyone who orders this heat lamp - read the warnings before trying it out. There are these awesome little clips on the wiring of the heat lamp that HAVE TO BE TAKEN OFF BEFORE USE. Yes, I’m the idiot that didn’t take them off before wanting to try this sucker out. This heat lamp heats up FAST! So if you do not take off the clips, they will quickly melt. Thankfully, I didn’t make too much of a mess with them and did get it cleaned up right after I realized my stupid mistake. I mean / there’s literally warnings on this for a reason. I must say, this heat lamp is awesome. It works really, really well and quickly. You definitely want to hang this from a place where it will not be too close to anything because it does put out a lot of heat. This is fantastic for a patio area in the colder months. I live in Florida and love being outside, but it gets chilly here in the winter. So this will flat out be pretty nice to have. Just don’t make the same mistake I did with it!
