I love this kettle but be very careful with it. It stays hot for quite some time so you need to turn the spout away from you when using it. I stupidly reached over to unplug my toaster and thought the water had cooled off enough. Boy was I wrong. I ended up with a second degree steam burn on my forearm. Sheer stupidity on my part but if you are buying this just make sure it has plenty of space to heat up and cool off. I love that it has an auto shut off and then has a safety shut off an hour later. Highly recommend just be careful.

I had an earlier version of this kettle and used it daily for several years. It is a real workhorse and time saver. I use it not only to heat water for coffee and tea but also to get a jump start on heating water for pasta. I gifted this kettle to friends and family members and they really like it, too. After long years of faithful service my initial kettle died so I immediately purchased another, newer version of this same model. Two things struck me: This newer kettle seems to be a bit heavier than the prior one and a little bit harder for me to handle with water in it. Also, the lever to turn kettle on flips in a different direction than that on the earlier version and seems less substantial.

Bought this to use during our kitchen renovation. It heats SO fast that we've kept it in the new kitchen and use it daily! It's faster than gas and a regular kettle, and a lot safer. Easy pouring, the handle is COOL even when the water is boiling. Careful when pushing the button to open the lid as it's spring-loaded and will pop... potentially spreading hot water around. You can mitigate this by putting a finger out to prevent the lid from smacking backwards. Minor inconvenience, and it's nice because the spring keeps the lid open well while pouring. It's a great kettle.

Love the color. It does what an electric kettle should do, heat the water. But it's slower than I'd like and the top opening is also smaller than I'd like. It's not awful. The price was right when I needed it but if I'd had more time I might have looked further and made a different selection.

Works right out of the box. The water heats up quickly. My only complaint is that if you are not looking at it, it can be difficult to notice when the heating cycle is completed. There is a very nice LED strip around the base that will shut off and a faint 'click' upon completion. Both are fine, but if I am in the other room, it can be difficult to hear. A nice 'beep' would be helpful.

I would give five stars if it didn’t finally break down on us. Well it technically still works if I hold on to the switch and keep pressing to the base until it reach the boiling stage. Somehow the switch starts to give up and won’t stay on. I did try trouble shoot and clean this in case of limescale build up etc that causing the problem. We finally gave up but after reading so many reviews out there on different brands, we finally decided to get our third one from Hamilton again but with some minor upgrade with the LED Light Ring (41037). That’s because considering after almost six years (shy of only a couple weeks since we purchased this in July 2017), this kettle served us well for our daily needs sometimes twice a day. We’ll how the new one work. I’ve read some mixed reviews just about every brand, including this one. Crossing our fingers, we’ll have the same good experience as our last one and not getting one of those defective one and won’t need to deal with those nasty warranty department. 😁🤪😝🤞🏼
