Description

Hamilton Beach deep fryers are generously sized for greater versatility -- some even accommodating a whole chicken. What's more, you can fry crispy, mouth-watering foods without the mess you've come to expect. Food can be lowered into hot oil and lifted out while the lid is closed for splatter-free frying. Hamilton Beach deep fryers also feature adjustable heat and convenient timers. Hamilton Beach consumer deep fryers for the home are easy to clean and most models include a dishwasher-safe nonstick pot. The breakaway cord featured on most deep fryers makes storage easy too. If your unit is not heating or will not turn on, your unit may need to be reset 1) Make sure fryer and oil are cold, 2) Turn temperature control to min, 3) unplug magnetic cord from the wall outlet, 4). Remove removable control panel and heater element, 5) Use a thin pointed object such as a wooden skewer or thin screwdriver to push in reset.

  • Great First Little Fryer
This is my first electric fryer and i'm a somewhat beginner cook, but I love cooking french fries, chicken taquitos (flautas), chicken nuggets etc. in this. When the food is cooked, the basket can rest in the unit above the oil to keep the food warm and drip remnant oil. The max oil level line is about half-way deep in the pan and that combined with the lid, minimizes oil splattering to virtually nothing. The time to heat oil to max (375f) is a little long but i try to plan ahead to take that into account. One note, be careful when removing the lid as the unit cooks food because a lot of water vapor condenses under the lid and runs/drips when removing...avoid having that water drip into hot oil! I have toddlers in the house and the magnetic type plug (on unit side) is a great safety feature, tho it would be more convenient for cord to be a little longer. Clean up is mostly easy; dish soap and warm water does the job but its tricky when cleaning heating element because water shouldn't touch the electric part/control box (use a rag for that). I don't store oil in the unit. I run the warm (not hot) oil through a strainer lined with a paper towel to filter out food particles as much as possible, then store the cool oil in its original (empty) container. I recommend. Happy cooking. ... show more

  • Can't beat it for the money. I recommend this unit for sure
Just got my Hamilton Beach (35033) deep fryer today and cooked up a batch of the world famous Planet Hollywood Crunch Chicken....amazing!!! I use to deep fry in a cast iron skillet...works well, but it can be a challenge to hold a thermometer in it and stop all the oil from splattering. This little Deep Fryer works great. No mess. No oil splatters. It holds the temp a lot better than I expected. It is not 100% accurate...I turned it on to 375 degrees and it got to about 365-370 after checking with a cooking thermometer, but it had a hard time maintaining that high of temp...perhaps smaller batches will help. My ONLY complaint is I wish it had an odor filter. It really should have come with a carbon re-usable filter but it doesn't. I will find one and cut it to size. There is enough room in the vented area of the unit on top of the lid to accommodate one. Other than that, I have read complaints about it being messy...NOPE!! If you are careless...sure it will be. If you are careful and setup a proper station and use tongs and such you will have no problem. YES - I would recommend this for the price point...it is a great value. ... show more

  • Great first time fryer. Wish temperature was more precise
This is my first electric deep fryer and it's great. It makes frozen generic brand French Fries better than any restaurant I've been to. The lid works well, close to no oil gets on your counter tops. Much cleaner than when I had to fry on the stove in a pan. Easy to remove the oil and clean all the parts, just make sure you use warm/hot soapy water and be careful with the heating element because that's where the electrical components are. I use a wet hot rag to wipe it down. A few individuals mentioned they don't like the cord design but I don't see anything wrong with it. It's a pretty short, but I only have the fryer out when in use then I put it away when I'm done. My only gripe is the temperature dial. Everything I've made so far calls for a temperature of 350°F. Well, 350°F isn't even labeled on the dial. It's somewhere between 340 and 375. Not a huge deal but a little annoying if you're looking for a precise temperature. Side note, be careful if you're making fried chicken or anything that was marinated in buttermilk/dairy. It calls for 350°F but that's way too hot. It will burn very fast, rather than cook. Maybe try 300-320°F. ... show more

  • I love this fryer. It does everything thing as claimed.
All in all, I love this deep fryer! It's much quicker than babysitting a skillet, and, I had no splatter to deal with! I like to cook large batches, and, the size allows for that. The manual mainly just gives times for pre-packaged frozen foods, but, I did my foods from scratch: egg rolls, onion rings, eggplant, mozzarella sticks, croquettes, etc., and, everything worked out fine. Make sure you keep the oil level where it should be. When putting battered foods in, remember to have the basket already submerged in the oil. When putting foods in, keep an eye on the temp light, as putting more in, too fast, can lower the temperature, but, it's still a quick process. Cleaning a vat of oil can be messy. Just have everything set up. If I'm reusing the oil, I put a strainer over a large, wide mouthed jar, and, pour from the corner. With Dawn & a sponge, clean up was easy. ... show more

  • Awesome fryer! Not too big or bulky and doesn't take up too much counter space.
-Awesome fryer! Amazing! Not too big or bulky and doesn't take up too much counter space. Heats in roughly 7-10 minutes (375degrees) and cooks phenomenally! Can easily fit a bag of frozen french fries, 8-15 frozen fish fillets, 20-25 chicken wings, and countless tater tots. Fries clean and easy. - I love the see-through lid and just the lid itself, makes me feel better about frying because grease isn't popping out. The basket clips onto the rim to help drain grease and clean-up is easy. - I don't like the magnetic power cord because it's very short and often comes off but you get used to it. Frozen fries, and fish sticks only take about 2-4 min to cook at 375, so make sure to watch it because it doesn't take long for stuff to cook. I want to fry everything in this magnificent machine, because of it's ease of use, consistency of foods cooked throughout, and overall ease of handling. I will have one of these forever. Bye bye to frying in pots or pans. ... show more

  • Very nice fryer that’s easy to clean and store.
Bought this fryer to use at home and very happy with it. It takes a bit to get up to highest temp setting, because it takes 3 quarts of oil to fill it to the full line, but we love it and use it several times a week. It is very easy to take apart and the basket can be easily cleaned with a brush. We also like the fact that the basket has a “hook” for you to take it out of the oil and hang it to let the excess oil drip from the food back into fryer. The folding handle makes it easy to store, since it takes less space. We wish the power cable was little longer, but that doesn’t bother us enough not to give it 5 stars. ... show more

  • Great, safe, effective fryer for reasonable cost
I received a lower quality, cheaper brand fryer for Christmas as a gift, but I did not feel comfortable using it because it did not have a basket, and I thought it was only a matter of time before I received a nasty oil burn. This fryer is a much better option because hot oil is a serious matter (as I'm sure we all know). Don't skimp on quality on a deep fryer. Get a good one. This is an effective one for what I need it to do. It's easy to use, and I like the adjustable temperature knob. Would buy again. ... show more

  • Decent deep fryer
Decent deep fryer. The end result is fine. The bottom of the fryer gets very warm, so I fry on the cooktop The power cord is short, so you may need an appropriate extension cord to handle the wattage and amps. The fryer quality is barely adequate. It is a pretty flimsy item. But it does the job.
