Style: Water Descaler System
A must have for your home. reduces chlorine and other buildup in tap water. since installation, tap water is so much better. showers feel so much cleaner. installation can be done without expert help and so far I've not experienced any leakage and is not affected by the outside environment. • Great for country living
Style: Water Descaler System
I live in a rural area. Luckily we didn't have to drill a water well. But the water service we have isn't the best. We always have a calcium build up on our faucets. Our house is new construction. We didn't want to have to replace a water tank because of a calcium build up. This descaler works, but there isn't a replacement filter to be found. So you will have to change the whole thing out when the filter needs replacing. ... show more

  • Does what is says it does. We have lots of calcium in our water
Style: Water Descaler System
This unit comes with everything you need to hook into your PEX water lines. The brass inlet adapters don't come with a roll of teflon tape, because they each have a rubber (neoprene?) washer to seal the connection. On the other end of the adapter is a barb sized for pex tubing. It also includes two pex clamps to squeeze the pex onto the barbs. The wall mount is a little unusual in that it screws right onto the top of the container/enclosure, but that made it simple to install. Seems to work fine for removing calcium from the city water. I don't know how long the cartridge will last before needing to be replaced. We have lots of calcium in our water, but not as much as I've seen in other places. It is bad enough that it clogs our sink aerators and bathtub shower bypass knobs, but not bad enough that we have "cauliflower" growing on the faucets. I think this will be plenty of filtration for us. Definitely more economical than getting systems at the big box hardware stores, if you can even find them in those stores. The blue store only had one model there and it was super pricey! This model works with my budget and needs. ... show more

  • Pretty good quality softener!
Style: Water Descaler System
If you have hard water as I do in Arizona, this descaler will definitely help with that, reducing the amount of calcium build-up I get in my water, particularly around the shower heads and faucets. I installed this at the very start of my water system so that it'd protect everything downstream and that worked a treat. You do of course need to periodically replace this, though, just like any other softener system. I think it took about a few weeks or so of filtering before the build-ups weren't coming back as quickly and eventually stopped? ... show more

  • Needs a design tweak
Style: Water Descaler System
Connections have a design flaw (no grooves for the o-rings) so we ended up with a leak and then an additional hour of plumbing labor.
