  • Great addition to home water filtration systems
Style: Water Descaler System
The media could not be loaded. Worked perfectly with standard tubing and coupling. I can rest much easier now knowing we have a more robust filtering set up to reduce water scale since we have quality a bout (400ppm water). I have this softener after both a sediment and carbon block filter with a bypass mechanism in place so we can have uninterrupted water (unfiltered )during filter changes or repair. Overall fantastic addition to any water system. The only reason a knocked off a star is you really need to over crank the pipe fittings so it doesn't leak. It was a bit of the excessive side even with Teflon tape and pipe dope. ... show more

  • A must have for the home.
Style: Water Descaler System
A must have for your home. reduces chlorine and other buildup in tap water. since installation, tap water is so much better. showers feel so much cleaner. installation can be done without expert help and so far I've not experienced any leakage and is not affected by the outside environment. • Does what is says it does. We have lots of calcium in our water
Style: Water Descaler System
This unit comes with everything you need to hook into your PEX water lines. The brass inlet adapters don't come with a roll of teflon tape, because they each have a rubber (neoprene?) washer to seal the connection. On the other end of the adapter is a barb sized for pex tubing. It also includes two pex clamps to squeeze the pex onto the barbs. The wall mount is a little unusual in that it screws right onto the top of the container/enclosure, but that made it simple to install. Seems to work fine for removing calcium from the city water. I don't know how long the cartridge will last before needing to be replaced. We have lots of calcium in our water, but not as much as I've seen in other places. It is bad enough that it clogs our sink aerators and bathtub shower bypass knobs, but not bad enough that we have "cauliflower" growing on the faucets. I think this will be plenty of filtration for us. Definitely more economical than getting systems at the big box hardware stores, if you can even find them in those stores. The blue store only had one model there and it was super pricey! This model works with my budget and needs. ... show more

  • Great for country living
Style: Water Descaler System
I live in a rural area. Luckily we didn't have to drill a water well. But the water service we have isn't the best. We always have a calcium build up on our faucets. Our house is new construction. We didn't want to have to replace a water tank because of a calcium build up. This descaler works, but there isn't a replacement filter to be found. So you will have to change the whole thing out when the filter needs replacing. ... show more

  • Standard Filters Work
Style: Water Descaler System
This is a standard water filter housing that will fit the `10"x3" filters you can find at any big box home improvement or hardware store. I bring that up as a few of the other reviews seemed concerned about replacement cartridges. Granted, the cartridge that came with the housing is a bit different than any I've seen, but I didn't order this to only use the included filters. I am interested in general filtering of my well water and will be using standard filters in this housing. Though this isn't stamped or certified, it's very similar to any other housing you're going to find anywhere else. ... show more

  • FILTERS AGAINST CALCIUM AND MAGNESIUM
Style: Water Descaler System
This water conditioner, I would call it because it chemically conditions rather than filters water removing scale producing minerals and substances. My water is corrosive and I think it will help. Other conditioners I have used have worked fairly successfully. I still have clogging of my shower nozzles given the location and existing plumbing, my installation will not be as easy as possible; however, many applications are a snap. Based on my experience, with similar filters I would classify this as a quality filter or conditioner that works well. I have a particulate filter in place and have other filters I plan to install which may not alleviate my problems but may minimize the effects. I had a water heater fail due to corrosion around the heating element threads. I believe this to be a quality filter that may not solve my problem (filter/conditioner system do not solve problems but mitigate problems to varying extent), but a combination of filters could at least make the water useable... even drinkable. ... show more

  • No Name, No Certification, Unsupported
Style: Water Descaler System
Pros - The filter housing is beefy - The seals look great - Extra fitting to connecting to water supply Con - Unmarked Cartridge. What is this thing? - What will I order when a replacement is needed in 1-2 years? - No NSF or other lab certification - Paperwork shows cartridge WHD-001 but it's not available anywhere online. Bottom Line - Without any markings on the cartridge, certification or ability to buy a replacement, I'd say this is a DO NOT BUY. Why waste your time and money installing a product if you cannot get replacement filter when it is needed? ... show more
