It's worth it. Easy to build even as a petite lady using only a phillips screwdriver and adjustable wrench. Chickens are happy. There was minor damage to some pieces and chips to paint but nothing a little common sense cant fix if desired (smidgen of caulk/filler or dab of paint). If someone planned to keep this for years I strongly recommend a quality outdoor chicken-safe paint or sealer to make it last and look good. It'd definitely help prevent water damage and cover minor imperfections. ... show more

This chicken coop is...cute to look at. It seems to be made out of balsa wood. The wood is *extremely* lightweight and delicate. Be careful when handling. (We accidentally dropped a screwdriver handle on one of the wall boards during assemble and it looks like someone shot it.) The three roost bars are below the entry for the roost boxes, so my young chickens are developing bad habits...and sleeping in nesting boxes. I have four chickens and they DO NOT like going into the coop. At sundown they perch on the apex of the roof. I have to bodily go move them inside. This coop is part of temporary summer digs for my girls while we have a construction project going on. I'm looking forward to building them a sturdy, correctly formatted coop later in the summer. ... show more

This coop is adorable and well built for the price. It was kind of easy to put together but I would definitely have two people to assemble it. A drill is needed to make the job go faster. The materials were packaged so well and every piece was included. The coops roof is water proof and there was even a couple of flaps to cover the eggs retrieval lids for water proofing that area. Such thought and care was given to this design and it seems sturdy and functional for the cost. ... show more

    • Not a well built product. Now the middle legs have broken off

Not a good product. It looks great when assembled but the woods splits when put together. The wood is very thin. The roofing shingles have begun to bubble up for some reason after only 1 week of being outside. Even though it has wheels for mobility, it is very hard to move around. Save your money.

Great coop! I have backyard chickens and was looking for an appropriate hen house to keep the flock safe from weather. I have a fairly good sized run already but the chickens refused to use the shelters I have in place. Plenty big enough to hold my six, I’m not sure it would comfortably hold 8 but there are 6 brooder spaces with convenient lift up roof to collect eggs, screen covered windows for ventilation and a pull out tray for easy cleaning. Since I already have an enclosed run, I didn’t get the additional cage portion you can order with it. ... show more
