I recommend seam sealing the sewn seam...inside and outside. The waterproofing coating on the underside of the tarp is pretty thin...but so far so good. I gave it a good test with a sprinkler for 20 minutes and the tarp did not get saturated with water nor did it seep through. I have replaced the guy wires with better Paracord 9 550. The guy wires that come with the tarp are reasonable but not great. The aluminum stakes are good though a tad too short for my liking. I prefer a longer stake of 7โ€ to 8โ€ length. The tabs are decent and over the stitching is pretty good. ... show more

This canopy tarp/ rain fly was a savior this past weekend from the excessive heat when we went camping. And our camp site had no trees. It Helped keep the hot sun off the tent and provided some extra shade area in our camping site. It comes with good stakes that donโ€™t pop out. Best investment so far for camping. So many potential uses for this tarp. Definitely recommend going with the bigger size option of the 12 X 10 feet if available. ... show more

Used the tarp under our tent, over gravel, we could still feel the rocks as if we hadn't put the tarp at all. However it didn't tear anywhere, so it held up on that way. I might try it as a canopy cover. I can't vouch for being water resistant. It did rain pretty hard, thunder storm actually, we didn't get any water in the tent but it did pool between the tarp and the tent in a few places. That might be unavoidable though. ... show more
