This looks to be a well made product but I question its durability. It is light weight and thin. My fault for not thinking about durability over time. I planned to use it as a soil barrier for my vermiculture compost pile this next year. I need a barrier to keep the tree roots out of my compost pile. That means zero holes. I am just now emptying last winters compost pile. I have been using a similar, but thicker, tarp. Every year, my pile gets a bit larger. Leaves will fall shortly, so I may need to start a new pile before I finish emptying the old one. ... show more

Used these below the tent for an overnight backpacking night in a remote canyon of Arizona. Little did we know they were exactly what we needed! They were larger than the tent, but we were pressed for time ordering and these were delivered in one day. Ended up, we needed a bit larger because the whole campsite was fine dirt and it was nice having the extra space outside the tent to lie down and enjoy the night sky. A skunk even came into camp overnight and cuddled up (outside the tent) with my husband. Thankfully, the skunk left without incident but these mats were helpful in letting us know when he arrived and when he left. For a cheap camping alternative to custom (and expensive tarps) I recommend these. ... show more

The tarp does the great job, don't get me wrong! It is thick, large and fits 6 person tent. What I noticed though is a part exposed to the direct Yosemite sun melted a little! That kind of scares me what would happen during a warmer day...
