Fits perfectly under my 2-person tent, kept floor dry in rain

I have a small 2-person tent, and as someone who has led camping and backpacking trips for years, I know the risk of not using a tarp or footprint with a tent. I headed off on a trip that was supposed to be sunny and warm and ended up rainy. I was really glad I had this footprint with me. This was the perfect size for my Bear Grylls easy-up 2-person tent (see photo—I didn’t think to snap one of just the footprint as it was getting dark when I was setting up). When sizing a tarp or footprint, you want it to be slightly smaller than the tent’s floor, to avoid it channeling water between it and the tent, and this was right on point. I thought I would have to tuck it slightly but didn’t. Super happy to say no water got into my tent via the floor. This is a good quality item; it’s evident which side is down (shiny side), the stitching is solid, the corners are suitable for staking and the whole thing folds up super small and goes right back into its pouch. After multiple days of rain, I cleaned it off, wiped it with a cloth, let it dry in the sun and it looks great. I expect to get several seasons from this and it’s worth the money to keep my tent dry and the bottom of the tent from getting degraded by rough ground. Overall, I didn’t see a difference between this and an expensive name brand.

Very well made footprint
Size: 59" x 83"
I purchased the 59" x 83" version of the footprint for use with a Big Agnes tent that did not come with a footprint. And for that I am glad as the standard footprints are simply tent material cut to size. I considered Tyvek, but found this at Amazon and liked that it had grommets and a mylar surface on the top side. This footprint will be used for a camping trip that is by car and then about a 10 minute hike to the camp site. I have not used it yet, but have unpacked, it, opened it up and inspected it closely. I measured 59" x 82" and the footprint weighs 565 grams/1.25 lbs not including the guy lines. It is very robust. The grommets are solid and well placed. This is not a footprint of choice for hiking the entire AT or PCT, but for short hikes, car camping or back yard camping it appears to be exceptional. I have read reviews that stated this footprint tore or the grommets came loose and that it was cheaply made and thin. The product I received is the exact opposite of these comments. This will be used on an upcoming 4 day camping trip a long way from anything as this trip involves taking a ferry to a remote location to an ocean cape that is uninhabited. The 10 minute hike doesn't sound like much, but we pack in all our water, firewood, food and everything else for those 4 days. The last thing I want is a wet, damp or cold tent floor and I am confident this Redcamp footprint will provide very good service. I paid for this myself and was not asked to provide a review. However, my initial inspection of it was so good I wanted to write something or else I would forget to do so later. I will update this reveiw if my earlier comments are incorrect and this footprint turns out to be fragile or cheap.

Smaller than advertised.
Smaller than advertised. Quality is ok. It is lightweight and waterproof enough. Overall use is good. Worked out well since I have a 4 person tent which how I can say it is smaller than advertised.

Cheap insurance for your expensive camping gear

PNW tested! I used this as an extra layer of protection under my tent and it worked perfectly through about 36 hours of rain. It’s thin and lightweight, but still felt durable, and the coverage was exactly what I needed. The tie-outs make it easy to secure and it packs down small enough that I barely notice it in my backpack. You could easily use it as a footprint, tarp, or extra rain protection around camp. Simple, versatile, and worth it. Anything that helps keep my $300 down sleeping bag DRY gets 5 stars from me lol.

A nice mat that protects my tent from being cut by rocks.

I bought this ground mat for my tent, and it seems to be quite sturdy in use, with a good overall experience. However, it doesn’t come with any stakes to secure it to the ground, so it ended up blowing around in the wind all night. Also, I’m not sure about its ability to block moisture or retain heat since no information was provided on that. Its size matches the description exactly, it feels nice to the touch, and it has a solid weight when held in hand.
