Homemade shibumi beach shade! Great for the price. I use it and an old 23 ish ft long tent pole for a homemade shibumi beach shade. WAY cheaper to make than buy the real thing. Note that the dimensions of the rain fly say 10x15 ft but it is really 3m x 4.5m.

It sure looks great. Tabs are sewn on very well and plentiful. 19!! Weighs 1 lb. 13oz without stakes to lines. Looks to be a valuable bargain compared to other 10x10 tarps. Use will tell.

I got the 10x10 and it's perfect in my opinion. Tons of options on how to setup. I'm mainly using it with a hammock and it's kept me cozy in some pretty bad weather. Personally ran my ridgeline using some 550 cord and tied prusik knots to the included loops and fold it up so I can deploy it quickly when it's raining. Been great for me so far and the brown color blends pretty well in the woods. ... show more

Pretty impressed for the price. All the straps are well secured and properly placed. Other then have two more rows of them that is really the only complaint. But if you are looking for a light weight easy option. This is your pick. Ever the bag that it comes with you can just stuff it back in when not in use. I have used it twice in the mountains. Once on the ground and once over two hammocks in a pinch. (Would only use it for one hammock) i didnt not have to apply any water proofing at all. The next time i get a tarp i will get one with three center rows of straps and probly a little tougher material. I know that will raise the weight. But we will see. ... show more

Let me start of by saying that the 1st tarp was absolutely great and exactly what I was expected! I wanted something lighter than ripstop nylon and still just as usable. These tarps are alot like the material used in most tents, or at least thats how it feels. I got 2 of the 10x10 tarps. Both weigh less than 1.5 pounds each. i cant be exact because my scale doesnt read lower. Id wager they are about 1 pound. Ill talk about the 2nd tarp then explain my experience. The 2nd tarp came out of the package and had a miscolored patch. I know it wasnt stained because the spot still shed water the same as everywhere else. It also has a spot where the seam was mis-stitched, the stitching removed, and then resewn. Its a very obvious defect. however, I had no leaks through either tarp after using them in a basecamp for a week during heavy winds and rains. I would recommend these tarps but definitely make sure you inspect if out of the box for defects! We purchased this nylon tarp as a waterproof cover for a portion of our deck. We originally tried "sunsails" but very quickly appreciated that they had no water resistance. We were looking for: 1. waterproof, 2 size, 3. lightweight. This tarp met all three of our criteria but we only gave it 4 1/2 stars due to an unforeseen issue. It stretches! The tarp is set as a sloped sheet away from the house eaves with 4 spring loaded corners. With this design it has easily withstood 30mph sustained wind gusts. However, we observed that it collects and holds water on the downside half of the tarp during and after rainstorms. That weight causes the nylon to stretch on that side. As time has passed the amount of water held by the tarp has incrementally increased as the deformation of that portion of the tarp toward the deck surface has become quite noticeable. We can reorient the tarp and use the other half but it will also eventually stretch and at some point soon we'll need to replace it. But with what? I believe that this problem would not be likely to occur so long as water did not pool on the tarp. ... show more

Got this for Christmas and weather was finally decent enough to set it up and inspect it. Material is light and seems durable. Biggest issue is the center seam. There are several holes all along the stitched seam. It's not a huge deal breaker but kinda defeats the purpose a bit as a way to protect yourself from the rain. I will add a seam sealer to it and hopefully that will prevent any leaking. ... show more

I want to start off by saying that this is a piece of nylon so anyone expecting this to outlast a tarp of any other material should probably reconsider how they think about life. That being said for a nylon tarp this seems to be extremely tough it went well through 10 mph winds and has tie outs at very convenient spots. It can be used in multiple settings and for multiple purposes. my only gripe would be that since it is a nylon tarp most people that will be making a tarp tent will find that it is extremely scary knowing that there is no type of reinforcement at the center grommet to relieve wear and tear if you put a stick inside of that part of the tent even though it is nylon I feel like that could have been done for the same price. As far as packability for a 10x10 tarp it's extremely small and extremely lightweight and you would be missing out on a great tarp if you chose not to purchase this one for hiking. ... show more
