My girls kept ripping my nesting pads and exposing the wood floor of the nest box, leading to frequent cracked eggs, even when I would add extra bedding and doubled up the nest pads. Found these and the texture was a little firmer than I expected but we haven't had any cracked eggs since we started using these. 10/10 recommend.

If your birds are in a pasture and they rarely get dirty this would maybe be an option. My birds are under trees, in the dirt and all over and I don’t foresee these holding up very long. I’ve only been using them a few weeks also. It’s an interesting idea but I still have broken eggs. I have them in several different size nesting boxes and they’re either full of droppings or dirt and debris. The feels like foam wrap for dishes. It’s thicker but it’s porous. Not easy to clean.

My hens completely hate these! They pushed them out of the nesting boxes and built their own nests. They are extremely thin also.
