Update: Although I’ve kept the set, which I still enjoy, the flat frying pan lost its non-stick quality fairly soon after purchase. The others seem to be okay but that is the one we use the most, making this set slightly disappointing. Also, machine washing this sets fades it after just one cycle. Original message - I’m always skeptical of online purchases because you don’t know what will arrive. I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this box. The cookware is stunning, nothing stuck to the pans when I cooked my first meal, and it is all lightweight. I bought this set because it is free of toxic chemicals. I can see the risk of scratching the cookware, so I will have to be a little more careful with these than the last set I owned. Also, no dishwasher for these pots and pans as it can cause scratching and fading of the colors. I don’t write a lot of reviews but this one I felt earned the 5 stars and review. ... show more

Initially these were good pots and pans. They look to be high quality and are non-stick, you don't even have to add oil. They look like they were going to be lasting for a very long time. But that's not the case. After about 8 months of using the small 8-in skillet / pan, about 5 days a week to cook an egg everything started sticking. I did nothing out of the ordinary besides cooking egg on the pan. I did not use any caustic chemicals to clean it (in matter of fact I use biodegradable dish soap) or have The heat on very high (I mostly cooking sunny sideups on low heat). When you're looking for a good quality set of pots and pans and you're willing to spend some money I would go with a brand that , at the very least, lives up to or past their warranty (which in this case is 10 years). I did contact them. And yes, They say they have a 10-year warranty. But let me explain what this means. It's simple terms, if something is to happen to one of the pots or pans within the first 10 years of owning it, first you have to find a box to ship it back in and pay for the shipping to their facilities (That will cost you somewhere between 15 and $20) and second send them a $10 check to pay for the shipping back to you. This type of 10-year warranty to me seems to be a scam. It's not like I've had the set for 5 years or even 3 years, I've only had it for 8 months. I have seen other companies That require you to send a check and if the product is deemed to be a manufacturers defect they chop the check up. but That's not the case with Gotham steel. The take away: Gotham steel's pans are not meant to last 10 years; they relying on The fact that nobody's going to spend between 25 and $35 to send and receive 1 new pot or pan. I needed a set of pots and pans that were non stick and after doing much research I decided to invest in Gotham Steel hard anodized. My friend had one from Costco and loves it so I found the full set and purchased them on Amazon. Although they aren’t cheap at $200, I get cook a lot and wanted to make the investment and I am so glad I did! After using them for 6 weeks and putting them through a lot of use and cleaning, I think they may be the best pots and pans I’ve ever owned. I have a set of All Clad and it was beginning to get old soaking the pans and/or pots to wash them so that is why I searched and found this set. The hard anodized material of the pans give them some weight and really do spread the heat evenly as advertised. My favorite part, however is the nonstick aspect. I’ve used the fry pans consistently every day and nothing sticks! Ditto for the pots. People who have described this pan in reviews as nonstick and complained, probably haven’t read or listened to the instructions. The instructions that come with the pans instruct that you need to use them on low to medium heat, which I have done and found no issue at all. And cleanup is a breeze, you can throw these right in the dishwasher and they come out ready for use. I also used metal utensils on the fry pans a few times and haven’t seen any scratches or wear on the surface of the pan. In terms of what actually comes with the set, I’ve found it covers nearly every standard use pot and pan with the sauté pan and regular skillet being my favorites. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for and willing to invest in a great cookware set. ... show more
