The controls are easy, it goes up to 1-12 in heat. It will stay on for a long time as well, depending on how long you put it on. It’s big enough to cover your whole back. it’s comfortable and the design is cute as well. The only thing that I didn’t understand in the beginning is that when it’s heating up, it will get much hotter than the setting. It’s supposed to be on so if you want it to be hot like that, you have to turn it all the way up. if not, you just have to wait for it to stop heating up. ... show more

Purchased for chronic uterine pain and nearly need constant heat for relief. Positive: the outside cover is VERY soft and well made. The power cord is quite long for easy mobility or if your plug is far away from your lounging spot. Multiple levels of heat setting (up to level 12). Heats up quickly. Timer for automatic shut off. Negative: It does not get as hot as I would have like it. 12 is the highest level, and it feels very lukewarm to me, even if I put it directly on the skin. For average menstrual or back pain this would work fine, but in my opinion it is a little weak for sever or chronic pain. Overall more positive than negative for sure. This heating pad is so soft, the controller has lots of options for time and temperature. It’s also really cute, I love the design. I use this when I’m on my period; it’s my emotional support heating pad. Can be easily stored. Definitely recommend this heating pad!

Most of the heating pads I've had come in two pieces - a plastic heating pad, plus a case with a snap that never stays in place around the heating pad itself. This one, being all one piece, is much more satisfactory, as well as softer; there are no sharp plastic edges. This design can still can become permanently creased, though, which is annoying.
