I replaced one of the expanding hoses with this one. It’s funny how the next best thing gets old and we revert back to the tried and true technology. The expanding hose was not good for sprinklers etc… because you couldn’t put them where you want them unless the water is on creating pressure. The hoses are only a quarter of the length otherwise, and a short hose can’t always get the job done. That leads to me being soaked instead of my lawn. This hose has the length to get even the driest lawn wet. I can sprinkle just about anywhere from one spigot. I don’t have to worry about kinks. It is very durable feeling in my hand, but still soft enough to bend as needed to get to those hard to reach places. This hose won’t leave you disappointed and wanting more!

(Update 13Aug2023) Giraffe customer service was quite friendly and seemed to be highly interested in resolving the concerns I described below. Those concerns, I think, still exist if a longer (~>50ft I would guess) hose is used withOUT a hose reel. Based on the concerned and constructive nature of the feedback with Giraffe Customer Service, my wife and I gave the hose another shot, this time with a hose reel. While I did need to spend ~20-30 minutes working the kinks out of our 100ft hose in order to get it to properly spool on the hose reel, once it had been fully spooled, it actually works pretty well. We've unspooled/respooled the hose multiple times over the course of a couple weeks of normal use in our yard and it works considerably better as a package deal with a hose reel. That is something I would suggest be put into the item description as a disclaimer for longer hose lengths. Kudos to Giraffe on their very engaged customer service. (Original Review) It's not that this hose kinks. All hoses kink. The issue with this hose is that the hose itself has no reinforcement in the tubing. It worked phenomenally when I took it out of the box, BEFORE I had attempted to uncoil it to actually use it. As soon as I attempted to uncoil the hose to use it, it kinked in 10-20 different places. Normally, and with a hose that has some structural reinforcement of the tube, that's not a big deal because you just unkink the hose and it stays unkinked, after which you can go about your merry watering business. Unfortunately with this hose, when you undo one kink, it creates a new one a few feet further down the line (because the tube isn't reinforced with anything to hold the shape). For this hose to be usable, you would likely have to lay out all 100 ft of the hose every single time I wanted to use it. Needless to say, that is completely impractical. It might be doable for a shorter length of this hose. The hardware at both ends of the hose to connect the end(s) to a spigot or hose nozzle is the single best design I have ever seen in a hose, because it basically has "handles" that help you get a lot of torque to get a tight seal. It was a real shame that the hose tube itself prevented practical use.

I needed a leader hose to be able to place my hose pot a bit farther away from the spigot, but wanted one which could take a bit of wear. This fit the bill exactly! It's a darker color to be less noticeable, heavy-duty both in the hose and fittings, and longer than average which gave me more flexibility. Perfect solution!

The hose is lightweight and seems pretty durable. I have only had it for a couple of months, but it seems to be holding up just fine. I will update my review if anything changes in that department over time. I could not give the hose 5 stars because it definitely kinks. The photos attached are from when I first opened the hose and unraveled it to put it on the hose reel. It also kinks occasionally when going around corners of the hose gets slightly turned.

There is a leak on one end but it could be the hose that it is attached to. That hose is permanently attached to a shut off valve that I need to remove to see if it is the shut off valve or the hose that is leaking.

I purchased the 50' Giraffe Garden Hose. Upon receipt I took other reviewers advice and unrolled it completely from the packaging, making sure to untwist it as I laid it out. This hose is light, flexible and easy to unroll as well as re-roll. It seems to be durable and will hold up with use. I love the sliding handles; I like that they cover the connector and they make it easy to hold the hose. I ended up buying a short connecting hose without them for my hose holder in order to attach to it and then roll the hose up.

The hose dines kink every once in a while but it does a pretty good job staying unkinked. There is a weird part on the end that doesn’t stay connected so it slides around and is kind of annoying but overall great hose for the price

Quality material and connectors. However, first time using it and there were several kinks, watering took twice as long, I had to stop to untwist the kinks or no water flow. This is the second hose I’ve purchased from this company, did not have a problem with kinks with the first hose.
