I’ve had retractable hose reels for the past 10 years or so. If you’ve never had one, get one. Worth every penny. You can thank me later. This giraffe reel seems very solid and works well. Hopefully it will last for years to come.

I really like this hose real. I have been researching different hose reels for a long time and to get a good one I was going to have to pay a lot like $500 plus which are very heavy and need to be mounted to something very strong. This hose reel is easy to install on any wall or pile and I like how it very easily stops where u want after extending it, it’s lightweight but nothing imunmanageable. I hope it holds up for along time because I try my best to take good care of my things and only buy things that will last me along time. I doubt the plastic sprayer holds up for too long it seems very cheaply made so I replaced it anyways with a brass one that I’ve had forever. If this hose reel lasts me along time without problems I plan on buying the pressure washer I love how it mounts on the wall and all the hoses are neatly organized. It would be so nice to be able to just pull out the pressure washer hose and have everything ready to go whenever I wanted to quickly pressure wash sonething

First off, the instructions said to drill a hole for the wall anchors almost an inch wide. That was WAY off-- the anchors were far smaller-- so beware!! Had to end up using ceiling hook anchors to mount it (with the expandable piece that you squeeze like scissors that open wide once you get them in past drywall) . And the piece you mount to the wall is hollow plastic and bears all the weight-- not good. It's been installed for around three months. Looks to me like that mount that the unit pivots on is getting warped. I think it will wear out in a couple of years?? I live in MN and the hose only gets used four or five months of the year. It will come down in Nov and get stored away until May 2022. This may save me.... otherwise, I think the mounting bracket would break within 9 months? But that is just a guess. Otherwise, the hose seems very sturdy. It retracts just fine. The nozzle that came along with the unit is solid and works great so far. All-around; well worth the $140. I just think the manufacturer needs to upgrade the wall mounting bracket.

I had been looking for a good retractable hose reel and came across the Giraffe AW 30 1/2inch retractable. I was impressed with it as soon as I opened the box. Well-made and nicely designed. I did not attach to my house and attached to an existing structure made just for a hose reel. Set up and installation is simple, however please be aware that it's heavy and needs a secure mount. The reel comes with a special bracket and lag bolts that the reel attaches to and this must be securely attached to your house or a very strong post. Giraffe shows an installation on the side of a home. I purchased it last year and put it away for the winter season. Very easy to put on the bracket and take off. When I set it up this year there was an issue with retracting. I contacted Giraffe for some guidance on how to repair the unit. They asked for a short video of the problem. Within days I received a reply stating that they would ship me a new unit. I wasn't expecting that and of course was very pleased that the company stood behind their product and honored their warranty without any hassle. If you are looking for a retractable reel, you'll be pleased with this one.

I purchased three of these retractable hoses in March 2022. They were somewhat difficult to install- a two person job - especially if installing into concrete wall or brick. I used each one maybe once a week around my gardens. The first hose broke in August 2022. A second broke by exploding in my face in September. The third hose (the one that was used the least due to location in gardens needing less water) still works, but I don’t have faith it will last. I contacted Giraffe tools to honor their 2 year replacement warranty. I had to “chat” back & forth for a hour because their rep claimed they had no record with of my purchase. I sent copies of invoice, screenshots, etc. I was told they’d send replacements. Later that day, someone contacted me via email and I went back & forth with them on the same issue I thought I resolved earlier in the day. They claimed no proof of purchase from Amazon even though I had receipts & obviously bought them from Amazon or I wouldn’t be leaving an Amazon review. They said “contact Amazon.” So, today I spent about 45 minutes chatting with Amazon, forwarding the chat transcripts & multiple emails to Amazon customer service who agreed that Giraffe tools should’ve honored their warranty. But, since they didn’t, Amazon will offer refund less restocking fee. That was the only solution. Now, subtracting for a restock fee seems odd because these are broken; they cannot be restocked! However, since it’s the only way to recoup some of the loss, then that’s what I must take. My advice is to not order this retractable hose or any products from Giraffe tools because apparently they are of subpar quality and the company will not honor their stated warranty. Save yourself time and trouble and find a retractable hose elsewhere. And, make sure you pay via a credit card that has a product warranty benefit, just in case.

We had this product before, bought it again when we moved. After about 10 months, the hose went off the reel and I contacted customer service. After a little bit of email back and forth, and a video, they sent me a new one. As I said, Customer Service at Giraffe Tools is great.
