I got this Underhill shut off valve (shiny brass in the photo) with one I bought a year ago from Amazon: the HQMPC model (the dull brass one in the photo). They both are almost identical as the pictures show. This one is about $7 more and they both seem to function the same. Interestingly the cheaper priced model seems to me to have a slightly wider inner diameter than this Underhill model. Both seem to work well. They both put out about the same amount of water and they both don’t leak. The biggest difference seems to be that the handles are a little different from each other in style but they both work well. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 due to the higher price. I hope that you find this helpful. ... show more

    • Well made. Large opening. HATE the lever !
I can't say how durable this item is, as I just got it. However, it seems about as well made as my beloved Dram brass valves. It also doesn't leak at all. (Perhaps other reviewers don't know to use grease on the threads, or pliers to tighten it? ) I decided to try this instead of another Dram, as the opening is slightly wider. And it is. Of course, this probably won't make any difference to water flow, as I have a well system, but with public water it might make a difference. Maybe. The one thing I HATE HATE HATE is the offset lever. It gets caught on everything, and serves no purpose with 3/4" garden hoses & fittings. I wish they'd make a version of this with a straight lever. If I ever need another shut-off valve, I'll go back to the Dram, for this reason alone. ... show more

Such quality, I have had mine for years and they work as well as when I first purchased them. It is expensive, but worth the hassle and time of having to replace nozzles all the time.

    • Offset handle helps clear hoses
Some of the cheaper brands tend to have straight handles. This one has an offset handle that nicely clears overmolds on hoses like flexzilla.

    • Well constructed
I use the valve to shut off my outdoor hose. My outside faucet is very low. The valve keeps me from having to kneel down to multi turn the outdoor spigot on and off. I just slide the lever on the valve. The valve doesn’t affect the flow rate of the water.
