I have three of these, one failed on the bracket and in the heat the unit actually bent and fell off of the unit. The others are perfectly fine. Boy do they have recoil! But aside from the initial failure, the seller/manufacturer and their representative Chrissy have gone above and beyond to replace the failed unit. Refreshing customer service. I would encourage the metal bracket as the upgrade will help in hot weather to avoid any issues.

I purchased this item for the first time about 2 years ago. They sold it with a plastic bracket that you mount to your house and it is supposed to support the weight of the reel/housing. Obviously, plastic is not going to do that. After a lot of back and forth, I had to purchase a metal bracket (another $30 which they eventually compensated for). So I've used this hose a couple years, and it is holding up well and works ok. So now they sell the metal bracket with the hose so I ordered one for my other yard. It arrives and they have installed a small screw in the bracket that is not removable, at least not without bionic strength. The bracket doesn't even need the screw because the reel slides down on the bracket. But you need the bracket to be separated in order to mount it to your house. Had 4 people attempt to remove this screw. Tried with a screwdriver, a drill/bit, etc and it is apparently installed at the factory with an impact driver. I had to send this one back as defective and got a replacement. Now the replacement shows up and it's exactly the same - they've put the screw in to where there is no way to remove it without stripping it or damaging the whole thing. Attempted to reach Giraffes customer service on their website, and there is zero support except for an AI Chatbot. I have no choice but to return the 2nd one and never buying from this company again. Made in China and junk. Do not waste your time.

The media could not be loaded. We live on a small (3 acre) acreage (3 acres) with a barn, and as such have gone through soooo many hoses. This hose is by far the best hose we have ever had. It doesn't leak. It doesn't drag on the ground. It hangs at whatever height you want (so it isn't on the ground) pivots perfectly. It was such a hit I have since ordered 2 more. We have one in the barn, one on the side of the house and one discreetly at the front. When it retracts it is super smooth. locks in any position (with a simple extra pull). It is an initial outlay but it last so much longer than any other hoses and it stops me from destroying my ground flowers and cursing. The video is of the one in the barn and the ones with the brick background are on the side of the house. Sturdy material. Super long (well one is 100 feet and 2 are 50'. I can't say enough about these. I even convinced my sister to get one!

I own/run a pet boarding kennel, I got the 1/2 style for a trial run and have been somewhat pleased with it. As stated by others, flow is reduced, at least that is what I saw as well. Overall construction is nice, love the metal support bracket, I did upgrade to stainless bolts for its installation. The retraction works nicely, I did get the 5/8 version as well due to the initial flow restriction. I have 80psi at the spigot so I was disappointed in the lack of flow with BOTH models. For the price of the unit I guess they put all the money into the retraction and hose capabilites, the nozzle is a different story, it is quite cheaply made. And THAT'S where the issue lies, I swapped them out just recently with the Orbit 7way and the difference was astounding. From the messy plastic nozzle to a metal one that is not expensive is a needed upgrade. I'll be purchasing more of the units, probably the 1/2 style now that the flow issue has been figured out.

So I got this last year, I waited to see the longevity of it before I wrote my review. It is mounted on the wall outside my house, it has held up amazingly. The retraction function still works great! I love that it pivots with the direction I need, it’s 100’ so it hits where I need it to. The nozzle it comes with still works great and has held up quite well! I did detach it for the harsh winter, which was as easy as pulling the pin out and it slid right off the wall. Truly love it and would recommend it to anyone considering buying it!

Worked fairly well the first year, but a few issues: 1. The water feed line (from the spool to the facucet) outer sheath split. It's not leaking, but certainly lost some of is protection. Still works though (hence not a 1 star) 2. The spray nozzle that came with it after a year leaks horribly at the plastic end near where the hose screws in. It's not leaking where the hose seal is, but instetad leakoing where the black hand grip meets the orange plastic (I see some pictures it appears to be metal instead of orange plastic, maybe a design change)

Very easy to install and a great product. So much nicer seeing this thing on our back patio than the typical pile of hose. It eliminates tangles and kinked hose. I recommend 100%. I do not leave reviews often, but this has been a great addition around the house I felt I should for others.
